The hotel was outdated and service wasn't very nice. Too expensive for what they offered even in the off season.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Yosemite Riverside Inn"
This is a very OLD place. You feel like you have gone back 50 years. If this inn was not about 1 hour away from Yosemite you would probably pay $35 to $40 a night. Rooms are bit up and breakfast is just some pastries (old). Stay in Yosemite and even if you pay a few dollars more it is worth it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It reminds me of Motel 6"
I did liked it, I wouldn't mind staying there again. It was peaceful and the staff were very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location to Yosemite is outstanding. The grounds on the property are beautiful. The concierge is helpful about info in the area. We happened to stay in the new bldg. on the ground floor. The steps up and down were so noisy we couldn't sleep when the late neighbors came home the nite before and the early in the morning neighbors woke up. So we only […] got about 6 hours shut eye. Breakfast items would run out and not be replaced in a timely manner or not at all. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We paid $180 for 4 of us. I knew we were lucky to get any place to stay around Yosemite in Aug. within a week but it was just too expensive for what it was. The little room was clean but everything was so old and almost scary, none of us even wanted to use the shower. There is a restaurant 3 miles away, a grocery store and few more places to eat 15 […] miles away. The breakfast was typical continental breakfast and the lady working there was very nice and friendly. Good location to go visit Yosemite since it was close to the west entrance. But we will try to pich a tent next time to save money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This was a great find! A little cabin tucked away in the woods. We had a porch with table and chairs, a yard with a bbq, picnic table, and 2 person swing outside our room. Everyone there was extremely friendly. If we get another opportunity to return, we would definately plan a stay here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff was EXTREMELY helpful, beds need replaced, carpet needs shampooed, there were dirty towels for previous occupants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"One step above camping"
The grounds are beautiful and the staff are nice, but for over $150 a night I'd expect better accommodations. We had 3 parties there and all had rooms in a different building. The complaints ranged from water smelling of sulfur, lack of deadbolt, extremely creaky floors and stairs, shower heads at nipple level, and really poor linens. The rooms were […] outdated and I can do without the TV/microwave/fridge in every room, but the security of our door freaked me out and I really can't think of a reason for a shower head to be that low. If you are driving to Yosemite: BRING YOUR OWN BREAKFAST, TOWELS, and PILLOW and you will fare alright. The only true perk is it is THE last place to stay on 120 before you get to the park, but it's still a solid 15-30 min drive to any park destination. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Woodlands, Near entrance to Yosemite"
Lovely setting in the woods. lots of birdlife, peaceful.Genuine Expedia guest review
I and my family stay in the standard room. The carpet was dirty, and the bed was very uncomfortable. Here is just someplace you can shower and have something to sleep on at night. The breakfast is also very limited. Don't expect too much. The staff was friendly though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Pros: Room was nicer than expected. Had a fridge. Only about 40 minutes from Yosemite valley. 20 minutes from another town with a few restaurants. Cons: Had to pay for wifi that didn't work well anyway. No cellular service. Poor cable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"What a nice cozy place!"
The room was clean, TV was a little small but it didn't matter because we had more fun taking a walk outside. Breakfast was yummy. Staff was nice. This was a great little stop before we reached Yosemite, I would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel. Awful Breakfast"
Nice staff and clean room; great location. Awful breakfast with nothing healthy any cooked food.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A little on the expensive side for what you get. But, The location is only 10 miles west of the Yosemite Park entrance. The room did smell a little funny, kind of like a bar of soap. Breakfast was very basic and very crowded at certain times.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was such a charming little place, located about 10 miles from the west Yosemite entrance. Our room was clean and comfortable. There was a nice little stream behind the cabin containing our room. The owners had placed picnic tables and several chairs out there, and we ate a picnic dinner and drank wine beside the stream as the sun went down. It […] was perfect for us. "Looks can be deceiving"
Some rooms appear to be in better conditions than others. Ours, unfortunately was very disappointing. The room was small, cramped and awkward. It was also unclean. Old towels left behind by previous guests and hair all over the bathroom walls. The worst part was the attitude of the owner. When we tried to express our concerns to the owner, she became […] very short and rude. She dismissed our concerns and was extremely unprofessional. "Nice localization near Yosemite but overpriced"
Pros: Hotel staff is very friendly, near Yosemite park entrance, good continental breakfast. Cons: Floor was quite noisy, I was worried on awaking my neighbours if I needed to walk to bathroom. No fridge nor microwave in the room. Also, room was not that clean...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This charming cozy cabinish environment was a delightful find for the price. Our small cabin was next to the river with plenty of seating in the perfect tranquil environment after a long day of hiking the trails in Yosemite. We never turned the TV on in the 5 days we were there choosing to relax outside next to the river. It is located 10 miles from […] the west entrance to Yosemite. It's a few miles to drive into town for a restaurant nut you' d expect that in this location. The owners were charming and pleasant. Breakfast was included and was a typical continental style. We were completely out of internet and cell phone range until we were up at the highest peaks in Yosemite. And hey, we didn't mind a bit. One morning while getting ready for a hike, we witnessed a real cattle drive complete with cowboys and herding dogs - about 40 head! It was VERY cool to see. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Very pleasant place to stay. Everyone working there was most helpful and went out of there way to make sure we were well taken care of. Right on the river and very quiet. I would stay there again on my next trip to Yosemite.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Horrible place and total ripoff"
Room was dirty and small and old and smelly. You will find hair in a few spots, from bed to bathtub. Hotel was very hard to find on GPS and no civilization around to ask for directions. You have to drive 20 minutes to find even a small dive to eat at. No wonder once you make reservation you cannot cancel or reduce your stay. Once you reserve for x days […] you have to stay ALL x days or you will be charged. If you want to ruin your vacation then this is the place to stay at. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The room was clean, there was some evidence of renovation. We had the river view room, and this was peaceful and relaxing. The front office staff were very helpful and willing to go the extra step to help a traveller. The wifi was not very good but we were told about this. "Great place to stay on the way to Yosemite"
Traditional cabin/lodge style B&B/Inn/Motel on the way to Yosemite Valley. Situated in the woods and alongside a little river close enough to the main road to be convenient but far enough to be completely isolated from it in terms of lights or noise. Our DeLuxe rooms we spacious and had all modern conveniences. It isn't modern or hip, and the continental […] breakfast wasn't "haute cuisine" or "a la carte" but fresh and easygoing, and I slept like a King in my King bed with the window wide open to listen to the little river pass by. Despite my last minute booking through Expedia the Inn was fully aware that I was coming, had my reservations printed out on the table, rooms and keys ready to go, very friendly staff and no issues whatsoever. Great place to go when you want to be able to go in and out of Yosemite, without staying in Yosemite Valley. No cell phone reception or internet, which is great if you really want to relax and focus on your travel companions! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The riverside Inn was great. They allowed us to check in very late. The room was clean and warm. A great retreat for our week long visit to Yosemite. The Inn is located only 20 minutes from the front gate of Yosemite National Park, and the gate is another 30 minutes from the Yosemite Valley itself. No complaints at all. Checkout was a breeze.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Warm shower after visiting Yosemite"
We wanted to see Yosemite in a weekend and it was good to stay in this hotel after the first day and have a warm shower. However please keep in mind there are not much hotels or facilities around the Yosemite area (within one hour). So based on that this hotel is acceptable. However compared to hotels in Manteca or Oakdale, the quality is by far different. […] So adjust your expectations. Here, internet means a satellite internet with 200 MB cap for all the guests!! Which barely let's you check your email after 5 mins of waiting. Also apparently there is a mismatch between hotels.com and what the hotel says. It turned out that the sluggish super slow internet is not even free, and we had to pay $5. Also for the heating system, it's kind of weird, so maybe carry a portable space heater with you. We had a baby and the room was not warm enough as we expected. There were two heaters but we couldn't figure out how to turn them on. The staff later told us that one of them was not working and for the other one we had to open it and adjust the a thermostat inside. Well, I never dared to do that on my own without any directions! The positive side, the staff are warm and good. Also make sure you check in before 10pm as they will be closed afterwards. The area outside is calm and beautiful, we enjoyed seating on the benches facing the river and relaxing. Overall it was a good stay, and thanks to the staff for providing the service. "Great location, comfortable outdoorsy feel!"
Having read many unhappy reviews about the Yosemite Riverside Inn, I was somewhat apprehensive but upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find a rustic and comfortable cabin in the woods type place. I upgraded to a deluxe river view room which had a balcony overlooking the river and woods. There was a cool rocking bench to sit on and enjoy the […] view. Our room itself was clean and the carpet seemed fairly new. There was a fridge and microwave as well. The sinks and shower were older but functional and fine. The bed was comfortable and all was pleasant. The towels could use an upgrade, on the thin side for sure. They don't serve breakfast until April 15 so no comment on that. The people were nice on check in and check out, even let us slide on a later checkout. The location could not get closer to Yosemite without being in the park (18 miles from Groveland) which was great as we came for the great outdoors not to hang out in a hotel. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to crash after a long day of outdoor adventure. Very nice place. I would recommand it. My girlfriend and I slept at the Curry Village inside Yosemite Park at the end of March and it was very very cold. We changed our reservation and we both were very happy with this place Yosemite River. It is a little far (25miles) from Yosemite Valley but it is very nice to have a bed, and a real room for a cheap […] price. "Watch for the small dogs!"
I stayed in the winter and as such was one of only three or four guests. There are 2 or 3 dogs that live on the property, very small so nothing frighting if you're afraid of such things, but potential visitors should be aware that they roam the property and the parking lot and will meet your vehicle before you even get out! Be careful! They are tiny […] dogs and I got the impression that if I wasn't paying attention I would run one over accidentally! Additionally they bark at any and all visitors so you may be awoken by them. Also the maid service only shows up every other day (at least in the winter) this was not brought up when I checked in. You should also be aware that you are about 20-30 minutes away from Groveland proper, so if you want something to eat you will need to drive a bit to find something. Other than that, it is affordable and about 20 minutes from the park entrance which is convenient, also the beds are surprisingly comfortable! I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a convenient location to the park, inexpensive, and are willing to drive a bit to get some food (the town of Groveland has some good eats). "Close to Yosemite, poor check out"
The hotel itself was charming, mainly due to location. The rooms were adequate for a night, especially because it is so close to Yosemite Valley. However, the check-in/check-out was difficult, to say the least. Check in has to be done between 2 and 9pm (which isn't terrible). However, I was only staying one night and got up to leave the next morning […] around 8am, but had no instruction on how to check out. The front desk (that you ring a doorbell to get to) had no one answering and there wasn't any clear indication of what to do in that case. I couldn't have been the first person to want to leave early in the morning. I left the key in the door and left a message about the situation. I haven't seen any repercussions, so apparently that was acceptable, but it was poor customer service. I would suggest staying a little further out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Things looked dirty like they might not have been washed after last customer. Hairs were found in the bed and shower upon arrival before anything was used. "fairly close to Yellowstone."
Rustic, creek was a short walk from the room, nice but nearly dry in the fall. The room was stuck somewhere in time, 60's maybe. no phone reception, no food, had to drive to Groveland, 5or 6 miles to eat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Horrible. First of all, the GPS misguides us 11 miles away from the motel into the wilderness/ middle of nowhere in the dark. The hotel implies that a lot of people has been tricked already but never bothered to take more initiative in reminding people of this problem, such as sending customers an e-mail before day of stay. When we finally made it to […] the hotel the staff made it sound as if it was all our fault. Then they told us there was no more breakfast even though it stated so on the booking confirmation. All with an uncaring attitude. I would NOT ever stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lots of space at a budget price."
I chose this hotel because of the great value in price given its close proximity to the entrance of the Park and the Yosemite Valley (Half Dome, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, etc). It's not the most up-to-date facilities, but the rooms are VERY spacious. Although it does have that slight older hotel smell to it, everything was very clean and I had no […] complaints.
