Great hotel to stay at, just make sure your taxi driver knows which location to drop you off at; otherwise you will have a long walk searching.

"very good hotel given price and location"
given the price and location, and compared to other small hotels in the city center, this is an excellent place to stay at. the hotel has a very traditional lijiang feel to it, as many small hotels do, but what makes this hotel standout is the modernity of the rooms. surprisingly the bedroom, bathroom, lighting, etc. were pretty modern. location is pretty good, a short walk from the central part but the walk is enjoyable. hotel staff spoke decent english. highly recommend

"OK room with a dreadful sewer smell."
Expedia shows this hotel as 4 stars. I saw it rated at 5 stars... It is ABSOLUTELY NOT a 4 star hotel. The sewer smell from the bathroom permeates the air and is dreadful. The paint is pealing off in many places in the room and in the bathroom. I would not stay at this hotel again. If I were to go there again, I would rather book a room in Suhe Village. Lijiang is too commercial for my taste.

"Nice place in the old city"
07/22/15 Ince13
We had 2 beautiful modern rooms in this hotel. Some English is spoken but the staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is located in the old city but a still in a little quieter place of town. The beds are of good quality and all modern comfort is present in the rooms while the traditional Chinese character is maintained. The bathrooms are nice! Room 1208 has a very large bathroom with self-standing bathtub, and a separate rain shower. No problems with hot water. Breakfast has a little western selection with some bread, jam, bacon, sausages and fresh fruits. The hotel is quite sizable and spans over a number of buildings. It has a restaurant with affordable prices, a tea house and western bakery. There are quite a few pavilions where you can enjoy a relaxing moment.

"Hotel with many pavilions"
01/06/15 OakwoodJakarta Jakarta, Indonesia
This hotel is unique, as located in old town, cars are not allowed to enter, so they have this mini cart bicycle to wait for you at the main road, and they will bring our luggage to the hotel. We have no hassle as our tour guide has called the hotel in advance to be ready for our arrival. We booked 3 rooms (2 standard rooms and 1 unit of 2 Bedroom), and the 2 bedroom is located in different pavilions. We have to get out walk a few meters away to reach our friend's room. The 2 Bedroom heater is not adequate enough to provide heat for the entire space, and the bathrooms are freezing cold. Maybe the hotel could install heater in bathrooms, so that in winter, it is still comfortable to take shower in the wee morning. Breakfast is OK, but varieties could be added more, as we felt menu are quite the same after 3 nights stay. Otherwise location is good, walking distance to the old town, ensure you have a map with you. Hotel provide map for free, as tourist information map is RMB 6. Hotel room is cozy, modern and clean, but TV has only Chinese channels no English at all. Maybe you could consider adding English channels for your International guests.

The hotel is quiet, design is really great with remarked details that make you feel very calm and confortable. 2 tvs, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. Lot of facilities to make your days in hotel very pleasant. breakfast is good and varied. As a courtesy we got the transfer from airport to hotel, staff is very nice and helpful despite some language problemas, all of them made the effort to help at any time. Thanks to all staff girls for the nice and gentle service , all of them are very sweet. Special thanks to amy, jane, any, hellen, ceinnie, I do not remember all names but thank to all the staff.

"Wonderful Hotel - Great Stay"
07/23/13 Galavant123 Fort Lauderdale
We stayed 5 nights in this wonderful hotel. It was very comfortable. We had a beautiful room with its own outdoor living area in addition to a beautiful green and private outdoor patio area. Such a great stay. The staff at the front desk, particularly Lorna, was very helpful. When we wanted to arrange a tour, Lorna walked over with us to the tour company a few doors away and helped translate our wishes for a tour to Tiger Leaping Gorge. The breakfast staff was also very attentive and friendly. This is a smaller, beautiful hotel in a architechtually stunning location of Lijiang. Not to be missed on a thorough tour of China.

"Great room and breakfast; english difficulties and limited amenities"

Loved our room; comfortable and stylish. The only two issues we had were that no matter the time of day, no one at reception seemed to be able to understand english and it was a real struggle. The other was that they only have 1 iron and it took a long time to get it when we needed it.

"Cozy rooms, close to old town"
04/07/13 Abhineet_Sawa Gurgaon
Hotel/Old town, are good 25kms from airport. Taxi s are not allowed in old town, so you will have to drag your bags upto 100m. Alternatively you can request hotel to send an electric golf cart to pick your stuff. The hotel is around 1.5 kms for bus station, 0.5 kms from old town center and 2 kms from black dragon pool. You must figure out how to get back to hotel - because people dont speak English and they cant guide you. Rooms are small but very cozy. There s no bath tub. In room fitting and lighting looks new. The beds are good and sleep quality is good. The staff is very friendly and professional. They can do a reasonable bit of english. The staff can send things like iron if required. They can also connect you with tour operators. As a non Chinese I did appreciate the break fast. You also get wifi in rooms If you visit the Jade Dragon mountain, preserve the yellow slip. This can be used at other locations such as black dragon pool. Besides these points Lugu lake and Tiger leaping gorge are must dos. You do NOT need the oxygen cylinder per person. One cylinder per group is good enough.

"too expensive and wrong room"

We did choose this hotel according reviews also from other websites. Unfortunately it was not as we expected. The location was perfect, the breakfast good but we had several troubles: first it was not possible to pick up us from taxi (the luggage cart was damaged). We have booked a grand suite from Agoda, acc. description 50sqm. The given room was max. 28sqm and very poor furnished (nothing to do with grand suite shown on Hotel website). My chinese wife tried 3 times to get a better room, they showed also 2 others but none of them similar and nice as the 41sqm grand suite as on hotel website. I think we have received a very poor standard room in the oldest and most poor garden of the resort.

"a nice small hotel on the border of the old town"
07/26/12 hansvink belgium
We had the suite (is more a junior suite). Comfortable with relaxing beds and a very small sitting area. Only the domotica didnot work properly, i.c. was not practical. If you needed only light in the bathroom, you got light in almost the whole suite. Some of the staff speak English; others don't. We asked at the reception for a massage and werte adviced to a nearby hotel (Waika hotel?). This experience was wonderful! Do experience it yourself when you stay in this hotel. Unfortunately other (Asian) guests often made much noice in the corridors ('streets alongside the room'). This happened on several days and on early hours; not ideal for a good sleep. The breakfast room is too small for the amount of guests (and if you are tall; watch your head). The breakfast itself was reasonable. Although on several days various products happened to be out of stock. The hotel is located on the border of the old town. From the parking area you are brought with electric cars to the reception. The old town is nice to see, but has become very touristic. Very positive; we did telephone the hotel a day prior to our arrival because of a late arrival. As a service the hotel took care for a free pick-up from the airport!

"We were happy"
06/02/12 Albuquerque_NMGeezer Albuquerque, NM
We selected this hotel for 3-days based largely on TA reviews and were not disappointed. Th e taxi driver had trouble finding it but I had him call the hotel and they gave him directions to the outside pickup point and the "golf cart" was waiting to pick us up. I found the front desk to have passable English if you are just patient and talk slowly. The staff tripped all over themselves to be helpful. The concierge even walked me to a pharmacy, translated and called a third party for an antibiotic recommendation (Montezuma's Revenge, Delhi Belly, Karachi Crouch-I don't know the term for China). Breakfast was pretty good. The room was somewhat cramped but the bath was ok. It was a ways to the old town "action" and most of the maps we found had serious errors but after a couple of days we could find our way around.
