This hotel is a YMCA, so if you are concerned about the price of your average hotel in Boston, and need an affordable place to stay in a pinch, it's fine. The neighborhood is lovely and there is an above ground parking garage available for $10.- a night, but the place and the rooms are clearly from another era. And there's no service to speak of.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for the budget"
This hotel was a money-saver. It was adequate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Friendly staff, but room definitely under par and the bathroom below that.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Unique and Convenient Location"
We enjoyed our stay. Convenient 10 minute ferry ride to downtown. Then access to subways across street from ferry. Quiet neighborhood in the shadow of Bunker Hill.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Would never stay at this hotel again, nor refer anybody to it either!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Last Min Booking"
We stayed one night at The Constitution Inn when we decided to take a trip to Boston last minute. It's not centered to the main activities of Boston but good prize compared to nearby hotels. Didn't receive any friendly attention from the hotel staff, stayed one night and left early in the morning, free overnight street parking, and about 10 minutes […] driving from Boston's Aquarium and Science Museum. "I know rooms are expensive in Boston, but..."
I know rooms are expensive in Boston, but...for $200 a night I expected a lot more. The rooms were very old and musty smelling, A/C didn't work very well. Front Desk people didn't look up from web surfing when I checked in. I checked out after the first night and moved to the Courtyard by Marriott downtown. It was less money, clean and with the amenities […] and niceties you expected from a hotel.! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not fun to stay at the YMCA"
This really is the YMCA.. location is on the up and up.. and close to nice restaurants.. but the clientele here is quite different than what one would expect for a family friendly stay in Boston.Genuine Expedia guest review
Friendly service at desk, lovely people, awesome room! Had an amazing time! Love love loved it and the location as well!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The constitution inn"
The hotel is the top three floors of a Y. That should help you picture the rooms. The bathroom was in bad shape and tiny with rust visible and the towel rack coming off the wall. The buildings surrounding the hotel are in major disrepair.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"DON'T DO IT !!!"
The hotel furnitures are really out dated. Bathrooms were dirty. The carpiting was nasty. They really need to nock this hotel down and make a new one or, they have to change they rates from $209 to between $50 to $100 thats the only way. Would never ever goto the hotel before I read the reviews.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Will go back."
Was very pleased with this hotel and expedia. They had our reservation all set. The front staff was wonderful and gave us adjoining rooms. I had 4 grandchildren and 3 adults so we had a boys room and girls room and they got to spend time together without having to walk the halls. Our room was a corner room with kitchenette and full frig. The front desk […] told me about the ferry which we used back and forth to the Aquarium and Quincy Market. It was so nice not to have to drive anywhere. It was a very pleasant surprise and I thank the front desk for that. I will definitely go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The room was clean and spacious"
We booked our stay quite late, less than a week before going to Boston. There was very little available so we were pleased to find anywhere. As my business was in Cambridge, the location was ok - about 4 miles drive. There is a restaurant and a small grocery store handily located within 2 blocks, and the YMCA - much mentioned by other reviewers provides […] a great gym facility for an early morning workout . All and all this accommodation was just fine, not luxurious, but perfectly serviceable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not quite the right location"
I was anticipating it would be easier to access downtown from the hotel as I had a meeting at the HIlton Faneuil Hall and they were full. It was a bit tough, because I had to take a taxi everywhere. Not convenient to public transport for where I needed to go.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
In town for touring and a Red Sox game. Location was perfect for walking the Freedom Trail. The neighborhood is quiet and very safe. I'd return!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"If you just need a place to stay."
It is a YMCA property. It is more of a motel then a hotel. The area is nice, and it's a cab ride from everything. If you are just needing a place to stay it's an okay spot.Genuine Expedia guest review
The good: it was half of other places on a week were literally everything was $450 or more. The bad: it's an old run-down place on top of the YMCA. Run down and obsolete, no breakfast, services are more like a hostel than a hotel, neighborhood has one restaurant, one bar, one cafe. The ugly: supposedly, you have access to YMCA services. This Y is old […] and crowded, so I decided to go swim in the lap pool at the basement level. Signed in with the gym front office, got a towel, locker, changed, got into the pool, first lap.... And I'm stopped by an instructor telling me that the pool is closed for lessons and I need to leave. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Hotel Near the Navy Yard and TD Garden"
It was very nice! There was some misunderstanding at first about the shuttle but they do have a shuttle that can take you to different public transportation stops. The shuttle runs M-F 7am-7pm every 15 minutes and every 30 minutes until 1 am. On the weekend, it isn't as often but it still runs.Genuine Expedia guest review
If you ever lived the dorm life in college, you will do the same for a very high price. Desk was accommodating, however, maid service was awful and bath rooms and towels were never cleaned.Genuine Expedia guest review
"This is a YMCA"
This is a YMCA with abandoned wearhouse across the street. You need to park in garage which is long walk past abandoned buildings. I am a woman in my 50's and did not feel safe in hotel . Add $10 to hotel for parking fee. No restaurants in area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There was no Air Conditioning most of the week and NO HOT WATER one day. When there was Hot Water it took a LONG TIME to come on. This was the week of June 22 thr 27th. A one night refund from Consititution Inn would be nice for the inconvience.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location and easy parking. No hidden fees had a kitchenette in the room huge plus and plenty if space in room. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.Genuine Expedia guest review
No hot water, A/C was broken. The room was pretty abused looking - scuff marks and stains, handicap rail partially detached from the shower wall, really old sink, freezer was dirty with a ice cream mess still in the bottom of it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is right at Navy Yard, and run by the YMCA. Rooms are old, but clean. Great restaurants nearby. Hotels in Boston are outrageously expensive. With the Expedia discount, the price matched the venue.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Okay place if you are trying to watch your budget."
It seemed out of the way from restaurants and shops. You would need a cab to get to a part of town where there is more to do and see. The location seemed isolated. Got there at night and felt a little uneasy.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not what we expected"
We were disappointed with our stay. The pool was a big reason for choosing this hotel, but really wasn't kid - friendly. it was a huge disappointment that we couldn't use it at all. It was too deep for my youngest and only set up for lap swimming- it would have been nicer to know this ahead of time. There was also no air - conditioning and our room […] was unbelievably uncomfortable. The windows couldn't be propped open either to cool it off in the morning with the cooler air. Overall, not a very comfortable stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
AC was broken, slept 30 minutes. Room was dirty, had one 60 watt lightbulb working so at night looked like i was staying in a dungeon. Overall - the worst hotel i've ever stayed at - and i've stayed at quite a few.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"its not a hotel its the YMCA"
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Its owned by the YMCA. It reaked like chlorine. There was no air conditioning, the linens were dirty, the rooms were filthy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Air condition didn't work during humid summer"
This place was okay for a hotel that was under $200 in Boston. Great view of the city and if you go to Pier 6 5 minutes down the road it's breathtaking. My air con was not cold, which ended up being the hottest night thus far for the Summer 14 season. I didn't get a good nights sleep and it made my business day a lot more difficult. "the worst hotel experience of my life"
They did not advertise they were a YMCA. It was dirty..all of the carpeting in the elevators and offices was filthy. The air conditioning didn't work and it is mid June!! They claimed they were fixing it and when we got back in the evening it was broken. The manager gave us 20% off and when I complained that that was not fair she took off another $100 […] The owner does not care about the upkeep of this building. Old buildings can be kept at a decent cleanliness level and this was disgusting. All of checking out promised to blog it out so they get the message. "It's just ok"
I booked it during graduation season so maybe that's why the price is so high and everywhere else are booked to the max! The hotel is clean, but old and not close to anywhere. It was the cheapest choice with acceptable location and convinience, other than that, there's not too much to talk about.Genuine Expedia guest review
""Take the T""
Adventurous. At every turn. The fact that the quality of the service was the lowest score should explain the adventure. Booking the hotel through a third-party like Hotels.com, seems to put a bad taste with anyone we met. Not helpful to the point of being rude seem to be the hotels training policy. Example? There are kitchenettes in the room but no […] silverware and we were not made aware that not only was an extra charge on to the room to rent the silverware but also that this service existent. Also they scanned our credit card at the front desk claiming that the room was not yet paid for, so I will be checking my billing to make sure it's not charged by the hotel and by Hotels.com. The amenity of an indoor pool is greatly overstated. You are limited to the times and even the sections of the pool that you are allowed to use. This, by far, is a great injustice to anyone who stays at this hotel and expects to use the advertised indoor pool. The hotel location is the only saving grace that keeps the overall score from being a one. For a tourist, it is good to know that there is one way in to get to our hotel. All of this bad review could be fixed by more hospitable service and a clear understanding of the pool facilities before booking. " Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was in a great location to the city and other attractions. You can walk to the ferry and take it into the city. No need to drive which was great. The room could use a little TLC but the people at the front desk were so nice nothing else matter. They even let us check in soon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I never do this but I have to let you all know this was the worst hotel I have ever been to. I wouldn't pay 5 dollars a night. I planned to stay there for 4 Nights but only could stay 1 night with how dirty and how bad the rooms really are. Guys seriously don't stay here I promise you you will be happier spending that extra buck.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were a group of 4 traveling for a music festival and were just looking for a quick place to crash that wasn't too expensive. In addition to the fact that The Constitution Inn IS A YMCA, it is also home to a sober living facility on the second floor. For what it was, it was fine. No more or no less. Over priced for the room quality. Be warned, the […] pictures on the website are misleading. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
THE FRONT DESK EMPLOYEES WERE THE ONLY GOOD THING. THE HOTEL IS DIRTY. I WORK IN THE HOTEL BUISNESS AND THIS IS NOT A HOTEL IT IS MORE LIKE A HOSTEL. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A HIDDEN TREASURE...LOL! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
When I went to check in at 7pm, I was told that I had checked in at 3:50 that afternoon. It took them about 45 minutes just to give me a new room and during the entire time, it seemed they were not going to do anything to accommodate me for their mistake. I did not like how their free shuttles stopped running at 6pm on a Sunday even when there is a […] Red Sox game so I had to get a taxi (8 months pregnant and didn't want to waddle the 25 minutes to the T). The next morning, while I was sleeping, I heard the door open and it was housekeeping! They didn't knock or anything, they just let themselves in! I went to the door to see if there was a Do Not Disturb sign and there wasn't one for me to hang. The same thing happened again about an hour later when I was getting ready to leave. Both times were early around 8am and 9am. When I checked out and told the Front Desk about the housekeeping, they just brushed it off like it wasn't a big deal; it is to me!!! Also, if you want to park your car, you have to pay $10 at the parking garage that is about three blocks away. I feel bad for rating them low but I didn't enjoy my stay and it was only for the one night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"It's fun to stay at the YMCA..."
When I made the reservation, I had no idea that the Constitution Inn is actually part of the Y in Charlestown. Because of that, I had trouble locating it at first. I drove by twice noticing only the YMCA sign. When I finally parked and walked to the building, thinking I would find the Inn beside it, I saw at last: YMCA Constitution Inn. That helped […] explain why the cost is considerably less than many other places nearby. It also explained why the interior and room were somewhat worn and in need of a good sprucing up. The room was spacious, however, and more than adequate for my stay. The location was very good for me, as I am happy walking and it's easy to get to North Station, Little Italy, the USS Constitution, the freedom trail, etc. An additional advantage is that the gym is free for guests. It is a full-service Y, with a 25-yd lap pool that I thoroughly enjoyed. Finally, it is the Y, and it is a non-profit that serves the community. How many hotels can boast that? It was just a brief overnight stay to attend a graduation. Overall it was fine.
