"Safe place to sleep"
This hotel was perfect for the person who just needed to have a safe place to leave their belongings and a place to sleep, but didn't really need to spend much time in the room. The shower was small, and the room was hot, even in the middle of a freezing winter. The only window was a sky light. This was fine, as I needed a place near the North Station, […] and it advertised a free shuttle, however it failed to mention that the shuttle was not exclusively for the hotel, but something within the city. It was free and on time, but I had to walk several blocks to get to the shuttle stop, which was not marked. I am disabled and use crutches, so it the weather had been wet or any colder I would not have been able to access it.. The people were friendly, I felt safe, and there was an elevator that worked. "Decent value, no-frills"
Pretty much got what I was looking for. Bare-bones, low cost hotel close to the sights in Boston. Hotel is very near USS Constitution, about 15 min scenic walk to the Red Line. Staff were friendly. Room itself was clean, not extremely comfortable, did have fridge. If you want overnight parking in their garage, it costs $10. Otherwise, street parking […] in the weekend is free. Area seems industrial and I had no issue finding a nearby spot. The hotel is partnered with the adjacent YMCA, so you get to use their facilities. No breakfast. Summary: I would stay here again. No-frills hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Not your typical hotel, an older building but still cozy & great neighborhood & great location! Close to everything but not smack dab in the middle of the busy city, traffic etc... If you don't mind leaving the building and walking literally a few steps to park, ATM etc then I recommend this hotel. Great price too! We will be back in the spring!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay while visiting patients"
Nice place and convenient for someone to stay while visiting patients at nearby Spaulding Rehab. Walk from and to.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not Happy With Our Choice"
The room appeared run down, our view was of a nasty graffiti covered old building, we felt deceived about the proximity of public transit. It would take a ferry and a subway to get to the aquarium for example. The WiFi did NOT work in our room the entire stay, the pool closes at 6pm and the woman at the front desk was disconnected and unhelpful. We […] felt like we were bothering her. "Friendly staff; thin walls, inconvenient parking"
Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean when we got there. The room was comfortable, but the location of the hotel is inconvenient as well as the parking. The parking was a short (but cold in the winter!) 5 minute walk and was $10/24hr (with hotel validation). Unfortunately there are no 'in-and-out' privileges, aka I ended up paying an […] extra $10 because I needed to drive to a restaurant. It's not in a great area (not many stores, restaurants or convenience stores within walking distance). So, the hotel is great for staying in for the night, but very inconvenient for a night on the town unless you get a taxi to take you somewhere and back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable and nice staff"
This is a two-star hotel because of the rundown shower stall and the small bathroom, however the nice staff deserves a 5-star. The hotel is located near the Navy Yard where Mass General Hospital (MGH) has several facilities. Guests can take the free MGH white shuttle bus in front of CVS store to get to the hotel from the T Orange Line at the "North […] Station" . Though breakfast was not included, there are a couple of cafes nearby. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Place but..."
When I found the Constitution Inn i had to say it looked great. When I got there, they hadn't gotten the change to my reservation and had to find a room for me for two nights. The Room itself was kinda dumpy, I'd say what you expect from an old mom and pop motel, not something you'd find in the city in a cool old building. It was perfectly located for […] our visit to the aquarium, just short ferry ride. Great location but needs work. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location for New Year's Eve to stay"
Nice hotel although there was no tv remote and the staff never came by, after calling the desk for one. Otherwise that's the only complaint :). Beds were comfortable, room was big and clean. Will def stay again if we make the same New Year's Eve plans for 2015 !!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Get what you pay for I guess"
Checked into the room to find the window open so the room was cold, then went to lay on the bed to find it covered in a lot of someone else's hair, called down for new sheets said it would be up shortly we got ready to go out to a bruins game...still no sheets. Went to leave for the game and checked with the desk to make sure the sheets were coming […] and they said they would be there by the time we got back, we were gone for at least 4 hours and came back to the room and still no sheets so we called down again and they finally brought us new sheets but just handed them to us didn't even offer to make the bed for us after making us wait. The bathroom wasn't that clean and the walls are very thing could hear people in the halls and other rooms in all hours of the night. The hotel also didn't tell us that the parking garage that they told us to park in would be closed the next day so we would have to get let in by a security guard and to keep the parking ticket with us to get it validated to get a cheaper parking fee and that we would have to pay at a different building then at the parking garage which made for a very unpleasant leaving experience waiting outside in the cold with all of our bags to get a security guard to let us in to get our car and then we were so frustrated we just payed the garage fee without the hotel discount because we just wanted to leave. Other then the great location this hotel isn't really worth the stress. Wish I looked into something else. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Closeby to Spaulding"
Stayed at Constitution Inn because it is winter and it is closeby to Spaulding Rehab. Left car at Spaulding all three days. Stayed on 6th floor and it was 80 degrees in room. Shut off the thermostat to cooler and switched off the fan and the heat was still coming in through the grill. Heat rises and no way to shut it off. Skylight in ceiling was opened […] six inches and that was good. Let the hot air out. Skylight could not be closed as the handle is broken and the venetian blind didn't work at all. That was ok... we were so tired every night that we slept anyhow. OK for no driving in heavy traffic. Price is ok. A three star room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location but very old building"
The room was clean but didn't really look it. Mainly the bathroom reminded me of the bathroom for my freshman dorm room. stained tile floor and industrial looking sink and toilet, like a clean gas station bathroom. The location is great though. "Comfortable and cozy"
Very cozy and conveniently located, about 20 min from North Station, which was acceptable, considering the price. Contrary to many other reviews, the hotel staff was very nice and welcoming, and the room was clean and well-made for both nights. For accommodation for travelling with friends, this is sufficient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not What It Seems"
The hotel is literally steps away from Charlestown Navy Yard, so if you have business there, it is convenient. The hotel is actually connected to the local Y or it is part of the Y, I'm not sure which. I believe it is a non-profit place, therefore no sales tax is included. The hotel is very dated and the bedding could definitely use some updating. Although […] I was only there on a layover, the round trip cost of a cab ride plus the rate of the hotel, I could have stayed at the Hilton Logan Airport for about the same price. Messy hallways, needed vacuuming, sent to 3 different rooms before finding one that was actually clean. "Great rate for functional room in Boston"
Mattress comfortable, room warm and comfy (it was snowing outside), hot shower, free shuttle nearby to bring to TD Garden/North Station, close to attractions, plus access to YMCA pool and basketball court! "We do plan to stay again."
The hotel was overall a good value for the $ spent. The positives: The location is close to a T, walking distance to the things. The location was correctly advertised, it's not right in the heart of the city, but close enough. The area and hotel were clean, safe and overall fine. A couple of things that didn't quite work. The evening reception crew […] were off. They were a bit spacy and did't work together. It is the reason I gave them a 3 and not a 4. The day crew who we interacted with at check out were awesome, on their game, able to answer questions and very helpful. We also had a problem with a window in our room that was leaking. This is again where the evening crew didn't help. We explained the problem and asked for assistance. We were heading to an evening event in the city. They said they would take care of it while we were out. We came back late to an even bigger mess, no evidence of anyone "taking care" of it. The result was a call to the desk at 1:00 in the morning and changing rooms at that hour. Again, if the evening crew had done their work, we may still have had to move, but perhaps it would have been arranged, supported and not dumped on the night crew at 1:00 in the morning. Overall, we found the location, cleanliness and price to keep this on our list to stay again. If we have more problems, like this next time, we may not offer a 3rd strike. "Nice hotel in a very nice area to walk"
Very nice hotel. Extremely nice staff. Some went above and beyond with helping us find local things to do. Only down side was it is a ymca pool, didn't know that ahead of time...still wonderful.Genuine Expedia guest review

This place was very misleading on the internet. Although it showed clean pictures, the hotel was far from that. There was an odor as you walked into the hotel. Once upstairs, the room was not very clean and there was a huge wet stain on the rug. Again, there was a smell to the room. "Great no-frills option"
The Constitution Inn was a lucky and affordable find, and we're grateful to Expedia for suggesting it. "Nice hotel, reasonably priced in Boston"
Nice hotel. Reasonably priced and close to any sight in Boston, because of free shuttle to T-station. "Worst hotel in Boston! Stay away!"
We booked this hotel for two nights as we were working in the area from Florida. We left the following day as the heat was set to at least 90 degrees with a non working thermostat. "Nice hotel however..."
The outside temperatures in Boston for our early November stay were near 60 degress. Unfortunately, the room temperature seemed like it was close to 80 degrees and we could not turn down the heat! "Decent hotel if you need to stay on budget"
I looked through the pictures on Expedia so I felt that I knew what I was getting. Unfortunately, the condition of the room and hotel were a disappointment. The lobby isn't comfortable or welcoming. The front desk staff seemed careless and disinterested. There is only one elevator for the upper floors and it is incredibly slow. The building overall […] looks much older than it does from the outside. In the room, one of the walls is concrete blocks painted white. It was hot and I don't think the temperature control was working. The closet door didn't slide properly and some of the bathroom fixtures were old and rusty. Also, one of the chairs felt like it was about to fall apart. The maids were rude and not helpful. I wasn't expecting luxury but I was expecting some politeness. If you are on a tight budget, this hotel is tolerable because of its location and cleanliness. Other than that, don't bother. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice location... a little old"
We enjoyed our stay at the Constitution Inn. The hotel is a little on the older side, but it is functional and I liked the location. Downtown Boston was easily accessible via shuttle and ferry. The walk over the bridge from Charlestown was not bad either. If you are looking for great hotel amenities, this is probably not somewhere you would want to […] stay, but we were not in the room very much because we were out exploring the city so it was just fine. There was a small grocery store and a couple of sandwich shops very close by which was nice. Also, parts of the Freedom Trail are right in the area and it was really nice to have so much history so close. It was kind of hot in the rooms and we were there in the fall- I might second guess staying there in the summer time. "Good, but cold"
I was on the 5th floor at the very end of the hall. The room was clean and nice, but the room was quite cold. Turning the thermostat to max heat didn't seem to do anything. We had a good stay. We travelled for pleasure and spent a good amount of time getting to the places in Boston that we wanted to see.
