Hotel Aria is utilitarian, plain and sterile. Staff is very pleasant but that is about it. The rooms are small and dark. Air conditioner blows directly on the bed. Breakfast is not worth the price. Internet connectivity on the 3rd floor was spotty.

One bedroom apartment - came as advertised with full kitchen and washer/dryer - very handy for a long-term stay. Cleaning staff kept the room clean, but front office staff ranged from midly pleasant to completely disinterested, leaning towards the latter. All of the typical hotel amenities (e.g. restaurant, gym, pool) are in the 'parent' Pavilion hotel; […] have to walk across a parking lot to access it(definitely not convenient when it rains). Room service consists of a limited subset of the restaurant menu, so having a kitchen to cook for yourself becomes crucial - especially since the nearest restaurants are 1.2 km (.8 miles) away. The hotel is situated in a predominately residential neighborhood, over 3 km (1.8 miles) away from City Centre - imperative that you have access to a car, as there is only sporadic mass transit (i.e bus) and taxis are extremely expensive in Canberra. Business travellers and tourists who cannot, or do not intend to, drive should avoid this hotel; thsoe who are driving will find the hotel convenient to City Centre, the War Memorial and the Dickson shopping district (where a wide range of restaurants - especially Pacific Rim cuisine - are situated). A nice place to stay in a quiet and convenient location. It's a short walk from the busy shopping area with a public bus stop almost out the front. Staff were very, very helpful. The room was clean - the pillows weren't for me but my partner didn't have a problem. We enjoyed our stay and would consider it again in the future.

Great location, only being 5 minutes from Civic, and the room was a great size and really neat and tidy. Good amenities and good service. Only fault I had was that the bed was too soft, but that is a personal preference.

Location suited our needs to be near friends and also visit the gallery which was the purpose of our stay. Our 2 bedroom apartment was way more than expected, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Will stay again but for longer. Staff very obliging.

The Spa Room was great, we enjoyed the spa as much as we could. I do suggest however that clothes washing powder be provided (as we could not find any) and more dish washing powder be provided as well as we had a few meals and didn't have enough to clean up. Booked online a few hours ahead of arriving. Had paid for a queen room but upon arrival was upgraded to a spa room which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were clean, very well appointed - overall outstanding. Check in was seamless and the staff friendly.

Booked the Aria based on positive reviews. Glad to say it lived up to expectations in all areas. Friendly staff, nice room with a very comfortable bed, and the buffet breakfast was great. Will be staying there again.

The hotel and the room itself was very good. There is a refigerator but no mini bar. You have to call room service to get a drink. Three telephone call and and one and a half hours later still no drink. Stay at the hotel but go to Dan Murphy's before you check in. Same applies to food items on the menu. We stayed in the Aria hotel over New Year. The hotel was in a great location - Canberra is so small that it's very easy to drive both into the city and to nearby attractions. There is also a direct bus route into the center and walking tracks closeby. The room was small but very comfortable (especially the bed!) and wasn't so small that you couldn't […] fit 5 bags and two bikes in (which is what we had!). There was also a balcony of a decent size which was nice for sitting in the evenings. The staff we're exceptionally friendly, parking was free and we had access to the adjacent hotel for washing machine, pool etc. For the price we paid it was fantastic value and would definitely stay there again. I have spent three of the last 18 months travelling and this was by far the most comfortable bed I have found anywhere including some fine hotels in Europe and North America. The hotel suited us very well. Our only complaint was with the problem we had in getting the tap over the sink repaired. When it was replaced the initial problem of a lever being too difficult to use the replacement resulted in a poor flow of cold water. However all staff were very friendly and offered to attend to our concerns.

Although the hotel itself is quite nice, very clean, and has friendly staff, it's location is terrible. Not much around it at all. Only place to eat is the hotel next door to it (good food, but pricey). If you are interested in exploring the downtown area or need easy access to restaurants/stores, choose a downtown hotel.

I really liked this hotel - not only was it a great deal, considering how pricey Canberra hotels normally are, but it was close to town and even provides a shuttle into the CBD and airport. Because it's a small place, it shares facilities (bar, restaurant, gym) with the Pavilion Hotel. It's a short walk across the car park to the hotel, which was a […] bit odd (and cold!) to do just to use the gym! I have to say the gym equipment in the Pavilion didn't look like it had been updated for a very long time, and they didn't provide water or towels, which is not good for a 4 star hotel. Oddly, there is no minibar provided in rooms - you have to call up to order a beer or a chocolate bar rather than snack with impunity! And maybe a few complimentary cookies wouldn't go astray. As would a few more tea options than just Lipton black tea. The check in and check out process couldn't be smoother or easier - no hold ups and easily got into my room. Overall, comfy bed, lovely bathroom, very clean and a restful night. I would stay here again if there was another good sale. Read more

Really enjoyed my stay at Aria Canberra. The rooms were spacious and very clean; housekeeping services the room every day which does not always occur in a hotel that caters apartments.
