Stayed here for the daughter's University interview just up the road. Quiet little cul-de-sac, excellent pub in the next street for an evening meal. Very friendly and welcoming and very attentive at breakfast with a good selection on offer. Kept awake by next-door occupants not settling down until 01:45 but no fault of the establishment.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice guest house with lovely owners"
We stayed one night in an executive double bedroom. The owners were very very helpful and looked after us over and above what you would expect when staying in a guest house. David (the owner) booked a restaurant and our taxi after advising us of the nicest places to eat. We were offered tea and home-made cake (lovely) when we arrived, and breakfast […] was lovely with a good atmosphere in the dining room. The room was clean and comfortable. There were nice touches such as fresh milk and water in the fridge, a sewing, kit, nice choc chip cookies etc. All in all a very nice place to stay with owners who know how to treat people well. I would recommend this guest house. Michael Chapman Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
From arrival to departure the owners made you feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble .The room was very spacious and clean with all the modern facilities you would expect from a quality establishment .The breakfasts were fantastic with lots of choice even for vegetarians and you certainly would not leave the table feeling hungry as the portions […] served were always plentiful and delicious. Probably (almost certainly) the best B&B in the country. Perfect hosts Perfect location Beautiful rooms (well ours, Eastgate, was) The best breakfast we've had in many a year Relaxing public areas Great parking Lightning fast wifi Friendly and helpful beyond expectations Wonderful little touches (tea, cake and a chat about local restaurants and sights) You would be MAD to stay anywhere else ! We will definitely be back. (Keith & Ros)
"Welcoming, clean & hospitable"
After reading reviews on trip advisor, Stone villa seemed a good choice..... and we weren't disappointed. Dave phoned ahead of to make sure we were okay, as we were running considerably late. And when we arrived he greeted us with a warm & welcoming smile and conversation, showed us to our rooms and recommend where to eat that night. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfy with everything you could need! Not to mention the fantastic range of complementary teas, fresh milk & nibbles. The breakfast was delicious with a wide range of options from salmon, croissants to the full English. Complementary sherry for those that fancy a tipple. The location is great for access to the motorway or Chester zoo (a must) and there's loads of places to eat just a minute away (the sticky walnut) and not too far from the centre of Chester it's self. Over all you couldn't ask for more!

From stepping through the door, we found the stone villa and its staff fully lived up to its five star rating. Warm and welcoming and top quality both in accommodation and hospitality. We are definitely going to be staying here again.
"Two night break"

After deciding on a short break to Chester for myself and my husband I started looking up reviews on TripAdvisor.Stone Villa constantly caught my attention as I thought it looked very welcoming and the reviews were very good.we phoned and booked direct and paid a deposit.we promptly received an email confirming our stay. We asked if we arrived earlier than our room was available(normally 1pm)would it possible to park our car in the carpark and go for a wander. The answer was of course. On arrival Dave greeted us in the carpark and escorted us in and showed us to our room.(room 1 ground floor)We were asked if we would like a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of cake which was welcome after traveling. We set off walking into chester turning left out of stone place. It took us approx 20 mins.we had a lovely afternoon but being Sunday some shops were closed but we enjoyed getting our bearings and looked round a super atr gallery.Stone villa provides lists of reccomended place to visit and eat.on both nights we just stayed in Hoole .night 1 at Hoole Indian restaurant and takeaway and night 2 atThe Faulkner.just round corner from Stone villa. Both excellent.Breakfast at Stone villa is excellent.plenty of choice and no restrictions.beautifully presented. The hospitality tray in your room is very well stocked with plenty of choice.A fridge in your room provides a bottle opener and fresh milk and bottled water. Also a plus was a safe in every room giving you somewhere to leave your valuables securely. Also provided was a mini ironing board,,iron, hairdryer and a fan.Excellent service from Dave Kirsty and their staff throughout and we will def return when we visit again in the future.

What a fantastic couple of days we've had in Chester, staying at the Stone Villa. I'd originally tried to book via Hotels.com and encountered issued, so phoned up and booked direct - which, it turns out, was also cheaper. We were booked in to Lower Bridge, a family room comfortably sleeping four (two adults, two kids). We rocked up on Wednesday morning, just before lunchtime, knowing our room wouldn't be ready but Dave and Kirsty were happy enough to welcome in and let us leave our car in the car park before heading in to the city for lunch. The hotel was but a 20 minute walk from the city centre, close enough for a stroll and far enough away to be clear of the hustle and bustle. After an afternoon walking around the city, we returned and got checked in and were offered tea and cake in the lounge, a truly lovely touch. Dave and Kirsty are absolutely brilliant, friendly and engaging with the kids and happy to make recommendations of places to go, venues to eat in etc. Our room, Lower Bridge, featured a recently renovated bathroom, which I'd have loved to have been able to bring back home with us, featuring a power shower and large L-shaped bath, and a very Star Trek mirror. The cooked breakfasts were also superb. Fantastic Lincolnshire sausage was a highlight enjoyed by the three of us who had cooked breakfast. There was also a vast array of fruit, cereal, toast with homemade preserves, fruit juices and tea and coffee. We'll definitely be back for a return visit to Chester, and Stone Villa will be my go-to place to stay, even if only for a night.

"A little gem"

Sometimes in life you come across a little gem. After trawling the internet for a last minute break, for valentines weekend, we were lucky enough to get a cancellation at Stone Villa. While booking the owner, Dave, suggested places we may like to eat, later Emailing me a list of manes and numbers to try.On arrival the welcome was warm and friendly and the room was superb. We stayed in room 9 (St Werburgh),which had recently been refurbished to an extremely high standard. I could not fault it. Breakfast was equally as good as the hospitality and the rooms with as much choice and quality as i've come across in any hotel. Dave and his wife Kirsty went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible, even arranging a taxi to take us to diner on Valentines evening. Their attention to detail was faultless, crossing all the T's and dotting all the I's. We will definately stay again.

Booked the valentines weekend for myself & wife. Prior to arrival i had asked for some information which was duly supplied. Upon arrival this hotel is superb, firstly the owners are very friendly and knowledgable about the area recommending a nice pub the Faulkner's in an adjacent street. We stayed in room 6 which was spotless clean, tastefully decorated, modern with a large bathroom. The attention to detail is fantastic, full drinks making facilities, box of milk and bottles of water, these were all replaced whilst the room cleaned on the Saturday. Breakfast was plentiful with quality produce used from a full english to pastries, cereals, fruits and juices. Chester town centre is a nice 15 minute walk with its abundance of shops etc. To summarise this is how a hotel should be, full credit to all the staff. Thanks Darren & Julie Newton
"Really is as good as it gets ! Accomodation second to none"

My wife and I stayed with Dave and Kirsty for the first time over Valentines weekend. We have been lucky enough to stay in many hotels and guest houses over the years, and in our view, you will not get better than this. Lovely large rooms, all with baths and showers. Quality furnishings and beds plus addition of fridge and very useful trouser press. All facilities you could wish for. Friendly hosts prepared to go that extra mile to make your stay pleasant and luxurious yet without pretence. Breakfast delightfully presented and lots of quality choices. Good value considering the quality and service received. Easy to park with private area, and if you wish for a quick ride to the city centre rather than the fairly short walk, the bus service on Hoole road is very regular. No hesitation to recommend and we will certainly return. Thanks to Dave and Kirsty for your friendly hospitality. Eddie n Christine
