"Nice Bed & Breakfast, close to shopping."
My husband and I went in March for his birthday. We enjoyed the breaskfast very much. The owners are very warm & down to earth. We enjoyed the stay there very much.Genuine Expedia guest review
We needed a quick getaway and wanted to go to the beach. We found Beauclaire's and really enjoyed our time there. We stayed in Hailey's Cottage. We could see the ocean and beach and had three big windows to give us plenty of sunlight. The fireplace was very nice for the cold night. Joe, the owner, was incredibly friendly, helpful and a fantastic cook. […] The house was quaint and comfortable with a porch swing, sitting room, porch and Victorian feel. We loved staying at the bed and breakfast we had a wonderful time talking with the owners and they were so helpful. The breakfasts were terrific and we would definitely go back. We love the area even in the winter!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
B&B's never appealed to me or my girlfriend; close quarters, thin walls, and the possibility of a disagreeable proprietor overseeing it all while we smiled through a mouthful of undercooked eggs and overcooked toast at breakfast, chasing it w thin coffee. So we were apprehensive about our stay when Congress hall turned out to be booked. But from the […] get-go Joe and his aunt Barbara allayed all our fears; they were kind and funny, helpful and available without being obtrusive. Breakfast was delicious, the other people staying there were fun and interesting and we were both extremely sorry to leave. Can't wait to return! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cape May B&B Beauclaire"
Beautiful old home -- clean and well-maintained. The 2 third floor rooms are not for every guest -- and Brandon's certainly not for us: the sloping ceilings caused a lot of head bumps; teeny tiny closet; tiny wicker chest; minimal lighting (bathroom lacked a decent mirror and had no light over the mirror.) Would prefer flexible breakfast schedule -- […] 9:00 AM is way too late if you have places to go. Food was excellent. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Overnight in Cape May"
Unfortunately, we didn't arrive until almost 3am the night of our stay, however, the proprietors were more than helpful in arranging for our after hours arrival. It would have been nice to have been given a later check out time though, since we arrived so late. For the short time that we were there though, the property was very enjoyable, comfortable, […] clean, and quaint. Would definitely return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A good birding stop: Beauclaires Bed & Breakfast"
Cape May, NJ, is famous world-wide for fabulous birding opportunities. Beauclaires Bed & Breakfast is a comfortable, convenient location to serve as a base to explore the area. Breakfast is tasty, and the ambience of the Victorian building makes the visitor feel instantly at home.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I stayed in Haley's cottage. It had a king size bed, lovely sitting area with reclining wingback chairs, a fireplace, ocean view, tv, private bath. Everything was true to the Victorian nature. Joe, the innkeeper was very pleasant and helpful with anything. Breakfast was good, conservation is great, too. "SO CLOSE TO THE BOARDWALK AND BEACH!"
Joe really set the tone when he welcomed us. He was so laid-back that we settled right in and it was clear the other guests felt the same. You really need to spend a great night's rest on the wonderful mattresses in the rooms. Our one-night stay far exceeded expectations and I really would love to return for an extended visit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I only stayed one night and this was my first B&B experience. Very nice place, owner was very pleasant and accommodating. The location is excellent...half block to the beach and two blocks to the downtown area. Breakfast was served at 9am which was late for me but that is a personal preference. Overall excellent experience and highly recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Mom daughter long weekend"

We had a marvelous time at this bed and breakfast. The service and food were excellent- host and hostess were friendly and made us feel comfortable and at home. Joe is an excellent cook- his breakfasts were amazing. The porch with rockers and that huge wooden swing was a big plus- I could have done nothing but sat on that swing all weekend and still have had a wonderful time! The location was great- we stayed three nights/four days and never got in the car- the beach, shopping, restaurants, and anything we needed were very close to the Inn. We even were able to walk to the lighthouse- one and a half mile walk on the beach. We saw a beautiful sunset over the lighthouse our last night there! From the porch and some windows in the house you could see the beach or other houses along the street. We were surrounded by beautiful old Victorian mansions- and ours was every bit as beautiful. The inside was tasteful, antique but very comfortable. Plenty of pillows and blankets; sofas and chairs and beds were all very comfortable. Any questions we had about food or things to do were immediately answered when asked- some without even asking. Menus for all restaurants in the area and various attractions in the town were on a table in the hallway near the entrance. Coffee and tea and hot chocolate were always available downstairs via a Keurig; every morning there would also be fresh coffee brewed and water in the dining room that we could enjoy before breakfast. Breakfast was served by the host/hostess family style- all guests sat together at a large table and were served at the same time. I wasn't sure if I would like it that way- other places I had stayed let people come down within the few hours allotted and they would sit at small tables- and be served the breakfast individually, at whatever time they arrived in dining room. At any rate- we did enjoy this new style- we got the opportunity to meet and talk with the other guests and Joe and Jo (the innkeepers), which added to the warmness and socially comfortable atmosphere. There was a small table for two just between the porch and the bigger dining room for two people to eat when the Inn is full- my daughter and I sat there the last morning and it was pleasant- bright sunshine coming in the window! It was very convenient to park in the facility's private parking directly beside the house. Joe even offered to help carry our things up to room- we declined and realized that we could leave things in the car until we needed them because the car was right there. Packing to go home was just as convenient. There was adequate space for our things in the closet and drawers in our room. The only thing I would tell someone who rents the room on the third floor is that the room is small with low ceilings- especially where the roof slants- a tall person might have trouble- I'm 5'4 and still bumped my head getting in and out of bed. Also because it is small, and in a restored attic type shape, the wifi and tv reception is not always great. The tv is small and we had a lot of static. We called Joe about a minor wifi glitch and he fixed it for us immediately, but if the weather had been such that we were in our room for extended amounts of time, it may have felt a little cramped without the ability to really enjoy a good movie. But since we really didn't come to the beach for tv, it didn't matter- there were plenty of other places within the hotel, on the porch, or throughout the immediate neighborhood to relax and find fun! There was also a small sitting room just outside our room with a love seat, tv, coffee table, and a window to the street- this was a good place in the morning or evening to drink a cup of tea or read a book without feeling confined to a bedroom. There was a very small balcony - "the smallest balcony in cape may". A similar but larger lounge area room was on the second floor landing- available for all to use - which also had a refrigerator to keep things you wanted to stay cold, and also had movies and books on the shelf for any guests' use. All in all, the Inn was a lovely retreat for us to start out the Spring, and we lucked out with good weather for most of our stay. Even in rain, the porch allowed us to be outside and enjoy the shore. It was hospitable, beautiful, and comfortable. The small criticism about the size of the tv and the static did not detract from our visit; this place is definitely worth visiting and I would visit again- but probably would look at the rooms on the second floor next time. Five stars and an extra plus for enjoyable and friendly people- hosts and other guests!

Great location, right near the Ocean and right in the best part of Cape May! The house is beautifully decorated, really a Class as my wife said. The best part was the host, Joe. I can't thank him enough for making super early breakfast arrangements than the usual time for us. I am definitely planning to stay with Joe on our next trip there.
"Warm, Friendly Beauclaires"

My husband and I spent last weekend at Beauclaires to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We were warmly welcomed by the Innkeeper, Joe, and made to feel right at home. The house is lovely, with amazing woodwork and stained glass. The breakfasts were fantastic, and Joe creates an atmosphere of friendship and comfort so that sharing breakfast with the other guests feels like being with family. Joe makes himself available to his guests at all times during their visit. We had a wonderful time in this clean, beautiful B&B.

"Perfect mother daughter get away"
03/03/15 Melinda R Hyde Park, New York
I spent one night with my daughter at Beauclaire's with my daughter. This was her first time staying at a bed and breakfast. The room was perfect, the bed was amazing, very comfortable. Joe greeted us warmly and showed us around the property. Breakfast in the morning was so good, Joe made it from scratch, and even went out to get a news paper for one of the guests! Conversation over breakfast with the other guests was wonderful, The whole experience was very "homey". I can't wait to go back, and my daughter is already talking about an annual girl's getaway to Beauclaire's. Thank you Joe!
"A taste of the 19th century in Cape May"
02/18/15 slibber Arnold, Maryland
Beauclaire's Bed and Breakfast is a well-kept home of 1879 vintage in central Cape May a few yards from the beach and 2 blocks from the shopping district. In spite of a windy and icy-cold weekend in mid-February, the ambiance inside is warm and cozy, thanks in large part to our host, Joe, who oriented us to the town and managed to produce (??on his own) a hearty and delicious breakfast. We look forward to coming back one day at a warmer time of year.
