"Holiday in puhket"
03/05/16
Absolute Nakalay beach resort Greeting at airport was good as our flight was running late, but hotel greeting party waited and helped with bags. Check in was pleasant. Hotel facilities are of a reasonable standard, but as we were told the hotel is due an up grade. With the up grade hopefully they will put in new air conditioning units which will hopefully eliviate the musty smell regardless of whether it has just been monsoon season. And new beds when hotel up grades would be great also. The beds are very firm. Slightly softer beds would be great. The rooms on the road side of hotel do pick up the roads noise till late at night and pre dawn. Also all night when it just the beginning of peak season. House keeping was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is regular transport from hotel into patong centre and a couple of small sub towns in puhket. The pool was good to cool in on hot afternoons and cleaned every morning. On our last nights at hotel we had dinner at hotel restaurant. The meals we ordered were good. And the lady behind bar provided very good service. She was very pleasant.

"Losing its Appeal"

Having visited the Nakalay before, we were certainly disappointed this time. Service was dismal, room wasn't ready, safe and aircon problems in our room. The pool was extremely rough in most places where grout had disintegrated, making it quite unsafe for the kids. Courtesy bus times were not very suitable for kids/our family also. The room/unit size is what drew us to the Nakalay and would be the only reason to go back. Would prefer somewhere more accessible and upkept.

"Not the hotel for us"

This is a expensive hotel with location beside a highway between Patong and Kamala. Hotel has no beach (bus transfer to Kamala beach) We got a deal and paid 599 NKR for one week, but we stayed for only 3 nights. This is a hotel that includes in a membership for absolute world and the cheap price included a salesmeeting. Aprox 10 min drive from Patong and 5 min drive from Kamala. You can not walk anywhere, because of the traffic outside, only way to get around is by scooter/taxi or by the free bus transfer. The kitchen close at 9pm wich is way to early for us, breakfast is expensive and was not included. 200 bath pr person. Room is very nice, overall clean but the shower had black mold. We had balcony facing the road and it was traffic-noise non-stop. Pool area is a pool area and no more. We rented scooter at the hotel, they demanded to deposit our passport, we took the chance anyway. Staff is nice, though they clearly doesnt like activities after 9pm. We wanted to go to Patong to eat and we had to stand by the road and get transport for our selfes. We would never paid fullprice for this location. Suites for travellers who doesnt care for aktivities after 9pm, who likes hanging out at the hotel and can deal with the traffic.

"Great rooms, but the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed"

Stayed in this resort and found the apartments to be really nice, they are well equipped and very clean and modern. The TV has a couple of film channels in English and several other English speaking channels. The Kitchen is small but adequate for small meals and toast. The bed was rock hard, and even when requested to soften and was supplied with a topper, it was still rock hard, although that does seem to be common to Asia. The shower was excellent, very large and powerful. The resort although on the beach, you cannot access it because it belongs to the hotel complex next door, and is private. It is between Patong and Kamala, and has absolutely nothing around it,and no footpaths to walk along a very busy road, so you either have to have transport or rely on the shuttle bus for everything, no shops or restaurants around, there is a snack bar, with limited menu. Now for the main reason I would not return or recommend. This hotel is on the main road for the West of the island, and the traffic is awful, the noise is constant and because it is on a slight hill, you have trucks going up the hill and struggling, so is incredibly noisy, its like staying on the A1, no piece from it. I found the air conditioning units noisy as well, the fans are attached to the bedroom wall outside and they come on and are very loud. As well as this, I stayed in an apartment with a pool view and the snack bar below us, the staff come in at 6.30 every day, chattering, and wake you up, also people go for breakfast and chatter, so we were awake before 7am every day. People often used the pool way before the opening time of 8am and again after closing at 8pm, and the staff did nothing to discourage this. This is not a quiet relaxing place, its the opposite. Which is a shame since with a couple of tweeks it could be really nice. More considerate staff, and double glazing. This hotel has lovely reception staff, and drivers of shuttle buses, the security staff are fantastic as well. Just a couple of staff need to consider they have paying guests before making so much noise very early. People may consider I am just gripping, but this is an accurate review of this resort, and I stayed for two months, so I think I should know it pretty well.

"Nice Hotel"

The hotel was lovely and staff were great. They have a shuttle bus that goes into patong five times a day and also goes to Kalama beach three times a day. The hotel is good for people that want a quiet time away. I wouldn't stay there again as there is nothing to do when your awake early. The pool and gym don't open until 8am and there isn't anywhere to walk from the hotel as the beach is part of the hotel next door.

"Quietly superb."

The Absolute Nakalay Beach resort, although not situated "on" the beach is a superb place to stay. They provide shuttle transport to, Phatong Beach, Kamala Beach as well as Surien Beach daily and collect later in the day. The staff are wonderful and made the stay more worthwhile.

Stayed one week and it was nice to be on the edge of the hustle and bustle of Patong.Courtesy buses to the town centre or Surin and Kamala beach which we made good use of.Good accommodation ,however only a small swimming pool.Wi Fi ok but not great.Reception also provided my wife with a hairdryer for the week.

"Nice Stay"

We stayed here as a promotional pack. I have to say the rooms were very good. The staff were pleasant and courteous. The only draw back is the restaurant has a very limited menu. This is a shame because the hotel isn't close to amenities so you need to think about what your going to do for dinner.

"Good, but no beach"

The hotel was pretty good in most respects. The studio room was good and had most things you needed. Very good fridge freezer. We overlooked the back with trees, which was OK, but a pool view or sea view would have been nicer. There was no beach and no access to the beach. Given the name, a bit misleading.

"Perfect if you don't want to stay in the center of Patong"
10/15/15 trangnp89 Hanoi, Vietnam
Located a little off the beach and Patong town (about 15 minutes driving) and they have free shuttle service there from 8:00 AM to 9:15 PM. It is a great place to rest yourself after a long day travelling. Spacious room, clean and nice. Food is good too. Just one small problem, they are pretty understaffed so it would take pretty long to get your orders brought up to your room. Other things are just great.
