The location of this hotel was just right for folks who don't want to be right in the middle of the action. Just a 2/3 block walk takes you where most of the shops, bars, cafes are. Also, you couldn't beat the nice view of the new Harpa Concert hall all lit up every night across from the hotel. Size wise, the room was pretty standard for European rooms I've stayed in before. As mentioned in other reviews, the bathroom will get wet after a shower. There also isn't storage for your clothes so put a sweater on over that wrinkled shirt you just pulled out of your suitcase. They gave my wife and I a room on the 1st floor. It was incredibly loud in the mornings with slamming doors and the clip clop of heels and dress shoes. Request a room on a higher floor. The front desk service couldn't have been better. They helped with car rental, restaurant info & airport shuttle and were generally pleasant and friendly. I would stay here again, but request a different floor to stay on.

The room was great. We had 3 adult women staying here. Our room had 2 twin beds & a futon. It had a kitchen w/all the necessities. There is not much privacy as it is all 1 big room (sleep area, futon/tv area, and kitchen) but it was clean. Bathroom was clean. In the shower you pull a curtain around you. The floor of the bathroom is also the floor of the shower so you can't really have more than 1 person in the bathroom (like brushing teeth while someone showers). This is not the hotel's fault as it's everywhere in Iceland, the water tastes & smells like sulfur. Be prepared for that. The staff wasn't overly friendly but they weren't unfriendly. After spending a couple days there we decided it is just their culture. Another thing we loved is they have storage. We arrived in Iceland prior to check-in time & the room was not ready so we were able to use a large closet type locker to store our luggage in while we went & had breakfast & walked around. Then came back & checked in. The main doors are locked. You have to ring a bell to be let in originally but they give you the code to get in once you've checked in. They have a computer w/printer available to use in their "lobby" area. I will definitely recommend to everyone & anyone. The tourist companies will pick you up at the hotel or you can just walk down to the one we used. Max 10 min walk. We walked to the church, took 10 min. We paid a total of $193.00 w/tax for 2 nights. We split it 3 ways so really I paid $64! Awesome deal!

I'm recommending it to all of my friends who go to Reykyavik, I loved it, from the simplicity and elegance of the decor to the super courteous, friendly and helpful staff...also excellent location. I loved the beds with white down pillows and comforters, like sleeping on a cloud! And the views of the city are exquisite!

Outstanding location, 5-minute drive to international airport in Keflavik. We had a 36-hr layover enroute from US to Europe and rented a car, were able to see the "Golden Circle" (national park, geyser, and waterfall), plus a relaxing trip to the Blue Lagoon. Thverholt is a guesthouse (similar to a Bed & Breakfast) in a residential area near the airport. […] Very clean rooms, gracious hosts, self-serve continental breakfast included. We booked our room at the relatively last minute and were so happy with our stay. We have a very early (7am) flight the next day from Keflavik airport and so we stayed here. Ragnar has done a fantastic job with this house - it's in a quiet residential neighborhood - very easy to walk to the 'downtown' area for restaurants & shops. The four rooms in […] this B&B and the central living space are all very clean, modern and well-kept. We were able to check in in the afternoon, leave our bags and drive to the Blue Lagoon - only about a 15 minute drive from here. They do a simple 'grab and go' breakfast - so were were able to get coffee and goodies at 4 am (!) before we left for the airport. There's one bathroom to share with the four rooms, but for the price - you can't beat this deal! We'd definitely stay here again - host was very prompt with email questions and very helpful in orienting us as to where to eat that night. Read more

The guesthouse is on the first floor of a private house in a residential neighborhood. The hosts live on the main (second) floor. You have to share the only bathroom with other guests (in our case there were 7 people in 3 bedrooms). The positive is that it's very clean and the neighborhood is nice and quiet.

Nice, clean and comfortable, and only 5-minute taxi ride from KEF. Only drawback is sharing one bathroom for 3 rooms in the basement unit. Help yourself breakfast is great, pretty much all you need for a continental breakfast. Most of all, the host is very friendly. I recommend this guesthouse.

This family home is in a nice residential neighborhood, very (very) close to the KEF airport. Amenities just fine. Downtown streets are a bit rundown, showing the impact of the recent economic decline and departure of US military. Not a destination, but perfectly lovely for an overnight stop before/after flying.

This is essentially a bed and breakfast establishment. Clean and comfortable with a reasonable diy breakfast. However the 4 double/family rooms on the lower level share a single bathroom so be prepared to queue in the morning! Also though geographically close to the airport it's still an £18 taxi ride away.

By taxi this place is around 5 minutes from Keflavik International Airport in the town of Reykjanesbaer (which people also call Keflavik). For anyone with an early flight departing from Keflavik (and who is woried about the time it might take to get to Keflavik from Reykjavik or elsewhere) this is perfect. They will order the taxi for you the night […] before and the taxi arrives like clockwork. It is also a good place to be based if you are exploring the Reykjanes Peninsula. The owners are friendly, the beds are so comfortable, the price is reasonable, and the communal area is so spotlessly clean and tidy you feel a compulsion to wash and tidy up after yourself and re-fluff up the cushions on the sofa. For oss (jeg og min kone) var dette et helt OK hotell med selvbetjent frokost. Dette tilbudet passet oss fordi vi hadde flyavgang ca kl 1200 og derfor ikke trengte badet om morgenen. Hotellet passer nok ikke for en gruppe som som har felles avreise tidlig på morgenen, fordi bad/toalett deles på fire overnattingsrom. (Stor kjellerleilighet med 4 separate […] rom og stort fellesareal i midten, ordinært kjøkken med selvbetjening og ett stort bad/toalett.) Meget koselig for oss. - For us (me and my wife) this was a perfectly OK hotel with self-service breakfast. This offer suited us because we had flight at about 1200 and therefore did not need the bathroom in the morning. The hotel is myabe not suitable for a group that has common points early in the morning, because the bathroom / toilet divided by four overnight. (Large basement with four separate rooms and a large common area in the middle, basic self-catering kitchen and a large bathroom / toilet.) Very cozy for us. Read more

Stiligt hus, rent och snyggt, mat och tvätt ingår (self-service dock). Keflavik är inte stort direkt, så nära nog till allt. Jättretrevliga värdar, rekommenderas helt klart!

The house is cice, clean and comfortable. Very close to the KEF airport. Help yourself breakfast is great, pretty much all you need for a continental breakfast. Ragnar is very friendly and kind. He give me a lot of tips to enjoy the neighborhood. I recommend this guesthouse.

We stayed one night at Thverholt guesthouse before early flight on the following morning. The host was friendly. The place was clean. There was self-service breakfast, which was ok. A good place to stay.

Está muy cerca del Aeropuerto y es ideal para dormir unas horas antes de comenzar el viaje por el país. Los dueños son muy simpáticos y buen trato.

Hotellet var rent og pænt, værterne meget imødekommende og utroligt hjælpsomme. Morgenmadsbuffeten (selvbetjening) var overdådig og den bedste på turen. Start Islandsturen her (Dejligt nær på lufthavnen - Praktisk hvis du lander sent) det vil du ikke fortryde!

We had a lovely stay - the friendly owners made our first night a very pleasent one! Rooms are nice, breakfast adequate, and the home baked bread and cup cakes are real treat! Thanks - we would certainly be back again!

En rigtig god oplevelse at komme til adressen, det var en stor flot villa i et villakvarter. Alt var meget smagfuldt indrettet og der var pinlig rent. Det er hele kælderetagen, der er indrettet til udlejning. Dog vil det knibe med badeværelsesforhold, hvis der er fyldt og alle skal afsted på en gang, der er kun et til ca 10 sovepladser. Mjög hreint, fínt og snyrtilegt í alla staði. Svolítið erfitt að finna gistiheimilið fyrir þá sem ekki þekkja Keflavík. Frábær herbergi, eldhús og sameiginlegt rými mjög svo krúttlegt og skemmtilegt.
