Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Potevamo restare senza letto"
In generale rapporto qualità/prezzo molto bassa.Genuine Expedia guest review
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Decent location near centre of town [by foot appr. 20 to 25 minutes, it is a downhill walk, so uphill on the way back!]. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Rooms have no atmosphere though. Small bathroom. Would I stay here again? Unlikely...
"Not the best Best Western"

This hotel was fine but not what I'd expect from a BW in Europe. We arrived late morning and wanted to park the car so I went to reception to confirm we were at the garage entry. I was told we could not check in until 2pm, a fine welcome!! We did park then walked into town for lunch and came back after 2 to check in. At check in we were asked for our passports and given the key, nothing more. Room was ok but small as was the bathroom. Air in room was pretty sticky so we opened the windows. The hotel advertised air conditioning but it was not working. There was a lavanderia close to the hotel so we managed to do some laundry which was great. TV had BBC news but reception was pretty bad. There was a hairdryer of sorts in the bathroom but it was the worst hairdryer I have seen! Breakfast was pretty good. Not a bad stay but not the best either. Mixed feelings.
"A perfectly acceptable place to stay"

We were visiting family, but wanted an hotel close by, so that we did not have to disrupt their lives too much! The San Giusto was conveniently placed for surprising walks, as well as access to the town by bus or on foot. Breakfast was perfectly acceptable; nothing was too much trouble for the staff, if we wanted anything special. Rooms are OK, but might not be suitable for a stay of much longer than five nights. No English language TV channels. (I can live without TV, but not the news!)
"If you don't want to get bad surprise don't go here"

I went to Trieste with colleagues for take place in a workshop there. We booked rooms in that hotel earlier and were calm and sure that we have place for the night rest. We arrived in the hotel at midnight and ... were surprised - the receptionist told us that they have some problems and we will be separated in 3 different hotels in Trieste. That was really very bad surprise - after a tiring flight instead we go for having calming rest we should go to another hotel in the midnight. So even you have approval of your booking you can't be sure that will really have a place you liked and booked for your stay in Trieste.
"Good price if you're splitting the bill"

Tiny bathroom - couldn't sit on toilet as the sink was so close to it. Had to produce credit card statement to prove I had prepaid upon departure - staff were adamant that they didn't take pre-payments. Also we're given double room when we specifically booked a twin. Desk staff changed it for us but it was an annoyance. Television didn't work. Night staff very courteous, offering free bottles of chilled water. Breakfast and breakfast staff are impeccable. 30 minute hilly walk from the city centre, but in a nice location.

Spend one night here....location is ok, 10-15 minutes to the historical center... hotel parking is 16 eur per day. Nice breakfast, polite staff. Good wi.fi in rooms, clean room and bathroom. The flaw is the noise! The traffic non-stop and thin walls, you can hear all the rooms around you, people showering, talking, caughing, etc..I couldn't get a decent sleep. Room is quite small too. Good value if you're staying there for a couple of nights. Payed 90 eur for one night (parking fee and breakfast included).
"Surprisingly good value"

My wife and I relayed here on our way by bus to The Croatian Istria. San Giusto is located a bit tricky but is still walkable to the waterfront centre of the city. Wifi and a very nice breakfast included in the price. Clean and neat room, well equipped for resting and thumbs up for the adequate bathroom, too.
"very nice stop in Trieste"

We arrived to Trieste by train, where you can buy your ticket to the bus (think it was #1) that leaves from small plaza outside the train station & drops you at the front step of the hotel. It's not a long ride but uphill, so don't recommend walking with luggage. My sister & I were there for one night only on our way to Croatia so we did not have a chance to see much, but the neighborhood was very pleasant with kids riding their bikes around in the evening, while the parents took their nightly stroll. The room was big & clean but the big bonuses were the staff & buffet breakfast which offered EVERYTHING you can imagine, including expressos & capuccinos brought to your table; all was fresh & delicious. The staff was super friendly & helpful; unfortunately Venere double charged us but the hotel promptly issued a credit for the extra charge & spared us what surely would have been a big hassle with Venere. Thank you, San Giusto!
"More motel than hotel"

We booked this hotel through Hotels. com some months before our arrival in October and immediately encountered problems. According to our confirmation email, payment should have been taken during our stay. Instead the hotel took payment immediately and also double charged us. After many calls to Hotel. com customer services, we were eventually told we would have to sort out matters direct with the hotel. This proved difficult to do, as the hotel manager Andrea, insisted that in Italy credit card transactions could not be reversed and the money would have to be paid into our bank account. In the end we raised a dispute with our credit card company and got our money back that way. As for the hotel, it was the worst Best western Hotel we have ever encountered. We had booked a triple room together with an extra bed for our 8 year old. This was not in the room when we arrived. The triple room was the smallest we had ever stayed in and there was almost no room for the extra bed, when it eventually arrived. The walls and ceiling were also paper thin and on our first night we could not get to sleep because of the noise coming from the room immediately above us. The only thing going for the hotel was the breakfast, which was good. Everthing else was pretty basic and so there was nothing to tempt us back. There is no restaurant.
"Fine for a weekend stay"

As others have noted, this hotel is not particularly central, but it is in a characterful neighbourhood. You can buy a day ticket for the city's buses (which works as far as Opicina and the excellent Grotta Gigante) for €4.15. There are half-hourly night buses until midnight from the Piazza Goldoni. The hotel itself is cobbled together from two adjoining buildings, so it is full of short staircases and twisting corridors. It is very well kept (with perhaps just a bit too much air freshener about) and comfortable, but not really up to speed with things like power points near the desk in the room. Wifi is excellent (at least, is was in my room) and free. The only niggle in my room was a fixed-head "rain" shower that was too low to stand under without stooping. The front desk staff were very helpful, and the women looking after the breakfast rushed around to clear tables when too many guests arrived at once! All in all, a nice little place to which I would happily return. PS - There's a superb ice cream shop by the bus stop that stays open to late.
