The location is good. It is next to the subway, train,street cars and bus stop. It is easy to get to the down town or the castle from there. One big compliant is that on Hotel.com and the hotel web site it advertises the pool area. I went there for the first time 2 years ago and was told it was under repair. Returned 4 times since over a two year period and still no pool. One of the staff members told me there are no plans to repaired the pool. Fine but it should be taken off the advertisement.

My second hotel stay in Budapest. Great place, clean, comfortable great service. I'll probably look for another next time, because Wifi was like $25 a day. C'mon! Its actually free at the pub across the street. Anyway, I stayed here because I felt like I got a good deal on the room, and its near a good shopping area. They do have great meeting facilities if you have a business group. Great views of the Chain Bridge and Palace!

We spent two nights here. Everything was great except the wifi was very spotty, close to nothing, in our room. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Room was big and the bathroom was decent size as well.

Located in Budapest (Erzsebetvaros), 1st Hostel is close to Dohany Street Synagogue, Hungarian National Museum, and Hungarian State Opera House. Also nearby are St. Stephen's Basilica and Szechenyi Chain Bridge.

"They don't deliver what they promise"
I chose this hotel because I wanted something close to the city centre, and I chose the "apartment" option because I wanted to have my own private toilet. I arrived at the hotel and the staff showed me my room, and they told me that the toilet was shared with all the other rooms. My apartment had a bathroom inside but the door was locked. When I asked […] why the door was locked and why I was not allowed to use the bathroom inside my room they told me that they didn't have time to clean it, so they decided to lock it and made me use a shared bathroom for the rest of my stay. "Apartment Close to everything"
Upon arrival at the listed adress, there is zero signage, no indication of it being 1st hostel. Once I rechecked my email at the bar across the street (really cool place called art bar) I found out we had to ring the bell.
