After thoroughly checking and weighing lodging choices in Tralee, I confidently settled on The Grand Hotel. My confidence was rewarded by the best lodging experience of our Ireland adventure. We arrived by train from Dublin and walked a short distance to The Grand. This beautiful hotel just plain oozes with charm and character. The staff is exceptional and will bend over backwards to please. Some reviews mentioned that the rooms are somewhat small, but I didn't find this to be the case. The king-size bed allowed plenty of room to move about comfortably. The fact that breakfast is included in the room rate turned out to be pretty significant. You not only get to choose from any breakfast meal from the menu, there's a "help yourself" table with cereals, bread, yogurt, fruit, and juice. The Traditional Kerry Breakfast is great, by the way. We loved this place so much that we stopped back over for another night before departing on the train for Dublin. Oh, and if you're interested in neat little irish pubs within a two -minute walk, you're in luck! The bottom line is that, if you're searching for lodging in Tralee, look no further than The Grand Hotel. I have never in my life felt compelled to write a lodging review, but this amazing hotel and its staff deserve recognition. You, too, will be impressed.

the hotel was very nice, with ironing and tea making faciliteies in the room and a tv, it is nice and close to the sea, and tastefully decorated, however the breakfast let the hotel down, it was rather overcooked and greasy but this would NOT put me off staying again as chef could just have had an off day,

This B&B was a great place to stay with a deligtful hostess who is also a great cook. she made us feel like roayalty and our breakfast was served in an elegant dining room. view of ocean was great. Call her for directions because we thought it was in Castlegregory, but it is on a main road close to Conors' Pass.
