The hotel is great, convenient, clean, and in a great locaton. There is quite a lot of noisy foot traffic at night. In the winter, the room windows can be closed. I think the front rooms would be very noisy in the warm months. There are rooms along the side street - request those.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night and had a great time. Nice, small hotel that was very comfortable and clean. It was attractively decorated and had an old world type of charm. The hotel was situated perfectly in the heart of Baden-Baden's old town and everything was a very short walk. The staff was very attentive and nice. We would definitely stay again.
Location.
Hotel Stadt Gernsbach is situated in Gernsbach and area attractions include Caracalla Spa, Friedrichsbad, and Casino Baden-Baden. Additional area attractions include Festspielhaus Baden-Baden.

"Construction in area"
It was hard to find the lobby, old decor and furnishings. I do not expect everyone to speak English when I am in another country but this made it difficult to communicate. This was last minute stay - I wish we had more time to review. Stay in Baden-Baden, right down the road.
"Hotel Stadt Gernsbach"
Hotel is a short walk from the pleasant old centre of Gernsbach. We had a large comforable room with balcony with views over the town and the Black Forest. Excellent breakfast and service. For an excellent informal evening meal try the Italian-run Altstadt da Orazio.
