I hate giving this review. We liked Shelley, the owner, very much and did enjoy our weekend in Philadelphia. The location is in a residential neighborhood, which we also liked. Charming townhouse that doubles as a bed & breakfast place. The owner is very nice and helpful with information & recommendations on the area. She makes such delicious gourmet breakfast. My girlfriend and I took a trip down to Philly and we found this BnB by chance, what a lucky find! I wanted to arrive early but Chelle, the owner, had told me she needed to get the room ready (which she now has two and informed me that this week the 3rd floor, which was being renovated during my stay, will be ready by the end of the week) so check in […] was 2PM for us, a little later than I wanted but it worked just the same. When we arrived she welcomed us and showed us to our room, which is not only lovely, but has a comfortable bed,, which is a BIG plus, and an absolutely amazing bathroom, completely stocked with great shampoo, bodywash and conditioner. She is very knowledgeable of the city and willing to help you figure out how to get where you are going. The breakfast, was to die for, it was amazing and creative. The coffee, phenomenal- try the Jamaican Me Crazy! Over breakfast Chelle sat and spoke with us and we got to know a lot about her, she is a very interesting and great person. There are a couple cats, I only noticed 2, but my girlfriend loves cats so she coaxed them over to hang out. Nice friendly cats. As others have mentioned in their reviews the parking situation is a bit tight, but we got lucky and found a spot as soon as we pulled up. It's two hour parking unless you've got a pass, which Chelle can give to you- you must mention it to her. I loved our experience, so I highly recommend it- we will surely be going back. Read more

My husband and I spent a night in Philly a little while back and booked a room at the South Bridge B&B based off of other reviews. While the hostess was a very nice lady, I wish I had seen somewhere that there was only 1 room in this B&B--meaning we were the only people staying there. For some people this might be a plus, but for a few 30-year-olds […] this was a little weird. We felt like we needed to be a bit quiet, and it was kind of awkward sitting down to breakfast (which was delicious, btw). I took my wife on her first visit to Philly for her Birthday and had a blast. The location of this B&B is great. We walked everywhere on South Street and up the path of the Schuykill River to the Museum of Art. Great hospitality and yummy original Pancake Muffins for breakfast with Keurig coffees! Very comfortable room. Pillow top mattress was perfect. Chelle's a lovely lady, and is great to chat to if you want it, but also gives you privacy. Breakfast was incredible. The neighborhood is great too. Bus right out the front door. Easy to get to the historic part of the city. But the area surrounding the B&B is also really cute. We enjoyed walking […] around there, and it wasn't too far to walk into the city (as we did one morning instead of taking the bus). Chelle went above and beyond, writing out bus schedules for us, and allowed us to keep our bags there while we explored the city after check out. She was incredibly helpful with maps and directions. I needed to spend a night in Philly for an exam so I booked this place because of its affordability and proximity. It was a very comfortable night and the owner was very friendly and nice. She does own 4 cats that roamed the place, which was unexpected, however it wasn't a big deal.

Assume high ratings have come from cat lovers. The place smells strongly of cats/litter. Cats have full access to the kitchen. Kitchen didn't look very hygienic to us. No security - couldn't lock bedroom door from outside while away from room. Came back to find our door open and cat exiting room. Over-priced for a bedroom in someone's house up steep […] stairs. But bed comfortable. TV screen very small. Twenty minutes brisk walk from 30th St station, at least 1/2 hour walk to city and historical sites. Not convenient. Read more

Das BnB liegt sehr günstig zur UPenn (Univsersity of Pennsylvenia). Man kann sich schnell zu Hause fühlen, da die Besitzerin einen sehr persönlichen und interessierten aber unaufdringlichen Empfang gewährleistet.
