"This is really a motel with only basic services."
This older motel was very clean and the clerk was very pleasant. However, for travelers expecting anything other than very, very basic basics, they may want to check elsewhere. I have no idea where the photo shown was taken, but the motel is built in an L-shape with an asphalt parking lot in front.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Probably Par for the Area"
Room was mostly clean. Looked like the carpet had not been vacuumed. There was no phone service for my carrier and you could not make collect calls. You needed a phone card which they should sell at the front desk if that is the case. There was no WI-FI. There was no way to let people know you arrived safely. I could have gone someplace I guess but […] who wants to chase down a phone to use? Also, I was in an outside room which was on the street. Didn't make me feel real safe. Good thing I brought a door stop. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, no-frills place to stay."
This was our first trip to Arnold, CA; we were visiting for a wedding. This lodge was centrally located with a nice brewery/restaurant across the street. There is a market just down the road. I prefer a real coffee maker to the single cup brew machine provided. They provided 1 reg and 1 decaf 'cup', so switch out the decaf at the front desk if you want […] to enjoy two cups of reg coffee in the morning. There is a charge for extra cups. "Clean- easy to get to"
Just stayed one night for a business trip. Nothing fancy but clean. Classic park in front of our room style of property which works for unloading our equipment quite wellGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Nice Stay"
Overall it was nice. The place was clean, rooms were updated but a little close to Hwy 4. The Brewery across the street was a great place for dinner so check that out. The queen bed was more like a full bed but for the price it was fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
water from under the toilet was leaking on the floor, no facial tissue in the room, cleaner removed the bathroom floor towel but forgot to put back a fresh one, only single chair in the room with queen bedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Ski Stop"
Although we had to wait until almost 4:00 to check in when check-in was at 3:00, the room was clean and had a refrigerator and microwave, and free wi-fi. The hotel was very quiet. We came to Arnold to stay so we could ski early in the morning at Bear Valley. Good location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"good place to for skin."
Clean, quite, and convenient. Only drawback is that you need to drive for eating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We booked this hotel not hoping for much as there are not any chain hotel in Arnold. The lodge did not look like much. The office was very small but the front desk staff was friendly. I was a little liary about going into the room but to my surprise the room was very clean, including the carpet and the bathroom. It had all the basics. It was a little […] tight as the bed was too close to the bathroom but overall pleased with service and accommodation. The staff were all nice and professional. The surrounding had restaurants and grocery store. We had a good time skiing in Bear Valley. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Little Motel Half Way Up to Ski Resort"
We made the booking for the hotel just a day before our trip through Expedia. When we got there the hotel manager apparently did not have a record of our booking. He realized later that somehow he had missed the info. It turned out that we had booked a room with two queen beds but when we got there they had all been taken. The person in charge did his […] best to find us a room with a single queen and he got us a roll-in bed that we somehow managed with. Apart from this experience, we found that this hotel is well maintained and the staff is very responsive. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice interior! Exterior is ;ike a typical motel cramped together around a small parking lot. But interior was real nice with a comfortable bed and small bathroom that is not too small. TV a bit of a let down but had a good night thereGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a very basic motel. Clean and well appointed room but few added amenities (only one small bar of soap for both hands and shower). Good spot to spend a night or two when in the area. Location is convenient at south end of town. Restaurants and market close by.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I requesed a wake up call for 6:00 am and never received one. When I went to turn in the key at 8:30 am no one was available. One the person did come out it appeared to me that I had woke them up.Genuine Expedia guest review
"very good basic hotel"
Room was clean and comfy. TV too small and Dish-TV did not have any sports channels. Hotel right off Hwy 4 and traffic can be a bit loud. No air conditioning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"quiet and convenient and clean."
Stopped for one night, only complaint was too tight quarters with 2 beds and 18 inches from bed to bathroom door. Who thought to put 2 full beds in there was out of their mind.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the room was to "HOT" no air. The room was fine but I was up all night because the room did not have air only a fan and a heater.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay for the night."

"hotel close to Murphys"
Amanda, the desk clerk, was fantastic. We had called her several times before and during our stay and she was very helpful. The first time was to check on the road conditions becaused it was snowing there and we had not planned for that. The other times was to get ice and playing cards because we had not planned on being stranded all night. The hotel […] had all the amenities that we needed for the night. Booked it online and no regrets. We were on a road trip in California and arrived early. Arnold is a friendly little town and the Lodge is in the centre. Good Access to local Supermarket ( Friendly staff and awesome sandwiches made up) and yards away from good restaurant just over the road. Only 3 people booked in whilst we were there and room was clean and tidy, good size bed and plenty of coffee. Nice area's out front and back of the Lodge where you can enjoy the warm spring sunshine. reception guy was friendly and helpful, recommend it
"Changed drastically from a year ago"
05/28/14 jcj48 california
We stayed here last year and had a nice room with 2 beds in the room as we requested, we also had two 20 pound pups with us. This year we requested 2 beds again and were put in a room with one double bed with a second bed, a twin, in a room that was not much bigger than a closet. The mattress could not have more than 5" thick. The price was much higher than last year but the accommodations much lower. We ran out of toilet paper and went to the office at 8 in the morning to get more to find out the office does not open in the morning until 10:00. Probably the last time we will stay there. Don't be fooled by the term "Lodge" in the title, it is a motel with no amenities.
"Big Trees, Big Adventure & Big Value"
11/25/13 Dave B Burt Lake, Michigan
We drove out from San Jose, CA into the Sierras to see the Giant Sequoias of Big Trees State Park. I went on-line while my wife was driving to see where we might hang our hat for the night close to our destination. We found a small motel called the Meadowmont lodge for a modest price, called, and got it. When we arrived, we found a rustic, but very clean motel dating from an earlier time, but nicely updated - just the right mix for the area. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was immaculate, and there was even a Keurig coffee-maker! There is a nice brew-pub across the street, and the Big Trees State Park was only a ten minute drive in the morning after a good night's sleep. It was a delightful stay and a good start to our Sierra mini-vacation.

This place was such a sweet little place and felt really high scale. The room was really clean, extremely specious, beautiful room and very modern, with a great bathroom. We loved our stay at this place and happily recommend it!
"Basic and clean small town lodge"
05/27/13 Roadrat12 California City, California
The staff is very nice, pleasant and helpful. We asked for a quiet room (#10) with good WiFi (after reading some of the reviews). The room's window faces the back of the lot, which is why we didn't hear the noise on Hwy 4. However, there is a large drain pipe in the back so the scenery isn't that nice. However, we didn't mind as we were out all day so by the time we returned, it was dark. The room has refrig/microwave/coffee. We bring our own heater/fan as most motels' heater/air conditioners are noisy. The room has a heater but a ceiling fan to cool down so bring a fan if you don't like ceiling fans or open windows at night. The lodge is clean and pleasant to stay at. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple inexpensive place to stay. The Snowshoe Brewery is across the street - great hamburgers!!! There is a grocery store (fairly large size) south of the lodge in case you forgot anything. Support the small local businesses. Suggestions: buy some scones/muffins/bread at Aria in Murphy (main street), visit mercer caverns (look for coupons), dinner at the brewery. Visit on Memorial Day weekend and the town has its annual flea market and yard/garage sales. Chevron and Bank of America north of the lodge.
"Great place to stay and pet friendly!"
05/25/13 jcj48 california
A friend and I just spent 3 nights at the Meadowmont Lodge in Arnold. It is a great little place, not fancy but the room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was nicely tiled and there was lots of hot water and towels thick enough to dry your body! They welcome pets and we had 2 small dogs with us. The pet potty area was a large grassy strip behind one of the buildings with the rooms and away from the street. We met 2 young women who checked us in and cleaned the rooms. They were extremely pleasant and helpful. The only suggestion I might have for the Meadowmont is perhaps have a small table in the room so travelers could play cards for whatever at night. Even one that folds up and could be stored in the closet would be good. There was one chair and we asked for another and it was delivered immediately. The Meadowmont is centrally located with easier access to many outdoor areas like the Calaveras State Park and a comfortable and very enjoyable drive to Lake Alpine. If you want a clean room at an affordable price in the lower Sierras, try this place!
"Great small town motel"
05/14/13 Sherry A Dublin, California
We've now stayed at Meadowmont 3 times, in 3 different rooms, and have enjoyed each stay. It's a small but very nice motel and the staff is great. The beds are comfortable and each room has a nice décor. And it is pet friendly. We love the Arnold area and will continue to stay at Meadowmont each time we visit.
"My cousin's weddding"
05/08/13 Marie O Olympia, Washington, United States
This lodge is so cozy! My cousin was getting married at the nearby Black Bear Inn which has limited accommodations. So, they blocked all the rooms for one low price for all guests. It was great. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. I arrived three hours before check in and when I went to the desk to tell them i was there and already parked, they checked me in early. The room was already clean and ready to go!
"Overnight stay to Bear Valley; Basic Room Good Value"
03/10/13 sfonorth San Francisco, California
We did not expect too much coming to this motel. Stayed in the largest room ( king suite) with a sitting area, direct TV, microwave, small refrigerator and a coffee maker. Room was clean and spacious but was situated next to the highway so it could get noisy. It took some time for the room to heat up. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Wi-Fi was complimentary but the signal was very weak in our room. The staff let us use other room with stronger WiFi signal to connect. We had no phone signal as well. Breakfast was not provided but there was a grocery store not far away and few breakfast places near the motel. Overall a good value place to stay overnight with a fair cancellation policy. Friendly and helpful staff.
"Wonderful Lodge and Excellent Service!"
08/04/12 Loran H Los Vegas
I stayed here on August 3rd and it was such a wonderful little motel. From the perfect scenery to the comfy beds, from top to bottom it was great. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms and pleasant staff. Amanda was such a helpful guide for good eats and great attractions! A great location for visiting Big Trees State Park or the caverns, I will definitely be visiting again in the winter. Thank you Meadowmont Lodge!
