"Dirty Carpet - don't go barefoot"
The carpet was so dirty that I made black footprints in the shower after taking off my shoes and walking directly to the shower with otherwise clean feet. Yuck!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I stayed three days to attend a meeting. The convention center is 25 min walk and the hotel location doesn't appear to be so safe at nightGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfectly Serviceable Hotel"
We were spending two days visiting the Balboa Park museums and wanted a place that was within walking distance to the park and comparatively inexpensive. A few things we found amusing: 1) The kitchenette sink was also the bathroom sink. 2) The flight path for the San Diego Airport is practically overhead. Considering how much walking you do visiting […] Balboa Park we wished the hotel was a little closer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
First when i checked in i was advised to walk outside and enter into another Hotel. Then light in the forye did not turn on until 8pm which meant total darkness trying to find your room. Second once in the room there were roaches, when brought to the attention of the Hotel staff they said "we will look into it." Really when? when i leave after i have […] paid my money to them? Lastly there was no HOT water to take a shower, again when brought to the attention of the Hotel Staff the same reply was regurguitated," we will look into in." The hotel pictures doesn't describe the room well enough. First off it's literally right next to an air port so ever 20 minutes a loud planes lands and takes off right over your head. Second the only place to park is across the street where you have to pay 12 dollars for the night. Third the room is rediculously tiny me and my girl friend we constantly […] bumping into eachother just to get from one side to the other. I've seen closets larger than these hotel rooms. The compliment "breakfast" if you want to call it that is just juice boxes water coffee bagels muffins and cheese crackers that's it. The staff was nice but I still would never stay there again. Front desk employee was extremely rude. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone because of that reason.Genuine Expedia guest review
The neighborhood was scary besides the hotel, one part of the hotel had no lighting, all corridors were dark. When we got into our room you could perceive smell like a baby had peed in the carpet, the window was open so that tells it all! The lady in the front desk was very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Do not stay here"
This hotel is terrible. While I am used to staying in economy hotels, this hotel was worse than any I have experienced. I stayed here at the end of a road trip down the PCH, during which I stayed at two different motel6 locations, both of which were exponentially nicer than Americas Best-Value Inn San Diego. Also, the location is not ideal, and the […] staff was not particularly friendly. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a satisfying stay in San Diego. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"VERY small room"
I was disappointed that I was put into a VERY small room in a separate building from the actual hotel building. We were not given any shampoos or body washes. The hotel front desk staff was not very friendly as well. The only great thing about this hotel is that it was within walking distance to central downtown San Diego.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel, and great customer service."
I enjoyed staying here. It is a descent looking hotel. They offer a free complimentary breakfast. The only bad thing about this place is that they do not have a parking lot. Which was a huge minus. So you have to look for street parking. Or pay at the parking lot, located across the street. With that said if I was ever in the area again, I would not […] mind staying here again. "A good hotel for this price."
I have stayed in this hotel for three nights then fourth night at Sofia hotel in downtown San Diego. The cleanness and over all amenities at America's best value inn were ten times better than Sofia hotel. Though I paid almost the same amount for one night in Sofia hotel which I paid for three nights in Best value inn. I will definitely be back to best […] value inn and I recommend this hotel to everyone. I am happy with the price service etc. at best value inn. I will be back there. Small but convenient for downtown area. Ran out of room keys so they had to let us in themselves. Said either customers weren't giving it back or housekeeping was taking them. Did not feel comfortable leaving my stuff in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Below average hotel and not worth the Price!"
This place is way below average. There is no parking. I was lucky enough to find a spot in front but you may need to park blocks from there and drag all your luggage with you. Man working the desk wasn't very friendly. I was giving a room key shaped like a USB and told I needed to walk outside punch a specific number in the Gate next door to access […] the rooms. I went over there and there were no lights on. I had to literally take my phone out the see the numbers on the gate. Also needed my phone light to see the room numbers. The elevator numbers are not right so if your going to the Fifth Floor you need to press a whole different number. This hotel's location is the best selling point. We enjoyed out stay with the fantastic location, but that is the only good thing I have to say about Americas Best Value Inn. Parking is NOT provided. "For jet airliner fans only."
The motel might have been so-so, based on cost and accommodations, BUT it is right under the final approach flight path of San Diego Airport, and jets land every three minutes between 7 pm and 10 pm; the first landing in the morning was at 4:30 am. The + side: The hotel was in a pretty good location (just blocks from balboa park), and good value for money. Its about a mile or so do the gaslamp district. It has a nice courtyard. "It's an ok hotel"
The hotel was clean and comfy but very small. The pictures provided online make the room seem much bigger. If traveling alone, might be more suitable. The AC was not working in the first room they assigned us but we were quickly transferred to a fully functional room. Finding parking on the streets was a struggle. The room had not a sink in the restroom, it was to thigh, old carpet, worn, clean Beth and Bath, no parking lot, you have to park on the street. "Close to the gaslamp quarters"
This place is walking distance to gaslamp quarters durung the daytime it only took us 15 minutes to get there. On our way back in the night time we took a cab only came out to 6 bucks not bad at all. Now the room itself has two tiny twin beds, not very comfortable. The room and sheets smell like stale cigarettes. Even though the room was "non smoking". […] There is no sink in the restroom so we have to use the one in the mini kitchen area, the hairdryer is next to the microwave also. Its just awkward. The area this place is at is not the best, the streets smell like urine and its dirty, there is no parking, so take a lot of change to use the meters, after 6pm ur ok to park anywhere. I couldn't take the smell in the room, or else I wouldn't mind coming back cause its cheap, but I wouldn't recommend it to a close friend. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I had booked on this website a Queen bed room in July for the end of August. When I got to the hotel they put us on the side of the hotel that is called West Park Inn which I didn't even know existed! This is for the extended stay people. We only stayed for 2 days! I wouldn't consider that "Extended". Then we got a room that had double beds and when […] I went back to the lobby to switch rooms. The lady said that this website probably didn't keep up with the hotels actual website to notice that all their Queen rooms were reserved before I made my reservations! So I couldn't get the Queen bed and I was on the side of the hotel that I never heard of! The coffee maker in the room was broken and when I called for a new one the guy told me they were on back order! Seriously!!! The beds were extremely uncomfortable. "Clean but small"
Had booked a room for Comic Con. It was our first trip and did not know what to expect. The hotel is about a 15-20 min walk to the convention hall. It was clean and had the usual mini fridge and coffee maker. The room is small. But if you are there just to sleep, it will be fine. The only thing is the hotel is in the flight path of the airport. So not […] exactly the best place if you are planning some romantic trip. Food is a few minute walk to downtown. But once you are downtown, there is a lot to choose from. The hotel is up on a slight hill. So be prepared for a mini hike uphill back to the hotel from downtown. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It's cheap, the hotel condition is acceptable. The biggest issue for us was the loud music from its neighbor. We lived there over weekends. Somehow its neighbor played very loud music from about 9 pm through midnight or even later. It's right facing our window. It's not a party. We called the front desk, they said they can do nothing and no other room […] is available. Another guy helped to call police but nothing seemed happened. For the price, we really didn't expect much. But this loud noise really made it the worst experience. I don't think this happens rarely. So I only hope you won't live in the same side if you choose this hotel. "Choose your room carefully!"
Some hotels look like they'll be great before you actually get there. They've got a good location, and a name which sounds respectable. Then you get there, and the situation reveals itself to be a bit more complicated. Such is the case with this place, in which the blinds in your room won't close out any of the light of the bright corridor lighting, […] and some rooms are barely bigger than the beds inside them. Another issue is somewhat of a problem for the entire area: airplane noise! The service is fine, as is the continental breakfast. But my advise is not to be shy about asking for another room if the one you're originally given is small, filled with light at night and right in the glide path. They DO HAVE better rooms, ones just a bit sheltered from the noise, if not the light, where you actually have A BIT OF ROOM in your room, and where the water pressure in the shower is not an issue. Check for these issues first, and you should be fine. This hotel's location is perfect for Balboa Park, downtown and the Gaslamp quarter. Just make sure you get an acceptable room to stay in. "I would not recommend this hotel to a friend"
Air conditioning was not working, only the fan. Refrigerator door fell off constantly from the refrigerator. Next to the hotel airport, so aircraft noise did not give us to sleep. Planes land there every five minutes. It's horrible. System tap water strange. Unable to make warm water - only hot or cold.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good place, cleaners are untrustworthy"
This is a good spot for the price. However I accidentally left a nice pair of sandals and when I contacted the lost and found they initially said they had them, when I went to pick them up they didn't. It's fairly obvious they were stolen by the service people.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was fine. Room was a bit small. We took train to San Diego and had two bikes, so the room was a little cramped. It looked like the hotel had larger rooms. For biking the location was great. Blocks from Balboa Park and downtown SD. Continental breakfast provided great options for the pack; apples, pears, crackers & peanut butter.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Spent 2 nights at the hotel. Good thing about it is within walking distance of Balboa Park and Downtown SD. Rooms are small and thin walls. You can hear the people next door and also anyone walking through the hallway. Planes flight by very close throughout the day so more noise. You'll need to park on the street and feed the meter. Free from 7am-6pm. […] There's street parking (no meters) a couple of block away from the hotel if you don't mind walking. Parking space across the street is $13 per day (from what the front desk guy told me). There were ants coming in from the AC and one ended up on my bed when I first got there. They disappeared once I turned on the AC. Overall, good location, but facilities not so good. Not a hotel I would recommend to friends or family. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Big surprise on arrival, there is no parking. In additiion, the staff was unfriendly. When I asked about parking they said to park on the street (where?) or pay $12.00 for uncovered unattended parking across the street. It didn't seem safe either way. Again, the staff was unfriendly, all three shifts. The room was OK, clean enough, but the elevator […] smelled bad.
