While the hotel is simple but well kept and clean, the grounds and setting are beautiful! Right on the ocean with a wonderful pool and lovely gardens. Very good breakfast and helpful staff.

Hotel Orphee is in Plat, right on the water. The location is very convenient to both the airport, Dubrovnik, and water taxi. The hotel and room are at a basic comfort level - nothing fancy but it was clean. Our balcony had an obstructed (by trees) view of the sea. The best part of the hotel itself is the outdoor pool. The design of the pool against […] the backdrop of the sea is stunning. Nice pool bar, too. If you have kids, they will love this place. Besides the pool (salt water), they can explore the pebble beaches, watch the fish, swim in the sea and pick up shells. Access to Dubrovnik is very easy. There is a shuttle that picks you up from receiption each morning and brings you back in the afternoon. We also took the cruise to the Islands, and the boat picked us up at the hotel pier. The location is isolated at night. Your evening meal choices are very limited. The hotel bistro closes early. There is an excellent seafood restaurant overlooking the sea. We stayed only 3 nights, so eating there every night was ok. Could pose a problem with a longer stay, though. The daily breakfast was excellent. Receiption service is friendly and helpful. One thing that is a little odd is that the ruins of the previous hotel are right next to the current one. You see a lot of reminders of the war. We really enjoyed our stay. Most of the rooms are just big enough for two people. Very simple and relaxing decor, neat built-in wardrobe, 2 chairs, desk, lovely bathroom with bath and shower and a delightful private balcony with table and 2 chairs. There is no elevator in the hotel, but on arrival a man was called to carry our luggage to our room. You could hear conversation from the corridor, but there was not much activity while we were there. When the wind was blowing strongly, we could hear the water crashing on the rocks below. After the first night, we asked about moving our room. The Manageress was most co-operative, and invited me to look at the alternative. On doing so we decided to stay where we were. Most nights the sea was calm. We came in early April, still the low season, so we got a really good price. Plat is a small resort, so you need to be self entertained. There is a gorgeous large salt water swimming pool which I enjoyed all to myself. There is a good Wi-Fi connection available in the bar area at Reception. The location is remote from Dubrovnik but that is what we wanted at the end of a three week holiday. The pool is awesome and the breakfast was great except for the coffe from a vending machine. The staff were great but watch out for the local Casinovas that lurk around the pool playing Costa from Shirley Valentine. Not an honest bunch and their motives […] are predictable. The hotel was lovely and surrounding area very peaceful - where you could really chill out. The pool area was very nice with beautiful views of the coastline. Very disappointed with this hotel. Did have decent size pool but plenty of dirt/green algae around the edges. Generally the exterior and landscaping around hotel needs serious upgrade. Rooms very basic, similiar to Travelodge type hotel. Only had twin beds available, no doubles. Clientele mainly older. A long way out from the old town cost us 20euro […] each way. We had booked hotel after traveling for the last 10 days with the intention of staying by the pool for 2 days before returning home...condition of hotel did not entice us to stay there during the day. The personnel were very helpful and friendly. Facilities well kept with lovely pool area and views. Other surrounding areas off grounds show the struggle of the economy and perhaps war effects. A contrast of reality. I would definitely return for a relaxing resort stay.

Egentlig hadde vi tenkt å overnatte i gamlebyen i Dubrovnik, denne siste natta før vi skulle fly hjem. Men på grunn av varmen bestemte vi oss for å unngå det, og bestilte hotell kvelden før. Rimelige og rene rom og flott hotell. Dette er et stort hotell-kompleks som var delvis restaurert etter krigen. Det var bygninger på området hvor vi fremdeles så […] kulehull i veggene. Men de bygninger som var restaurert, var alldeles utmerket. Gode restauranter og flotte bademuligheter (men som vanlig i Kroatia, ingen sandstrand). Hotellet hadde god belliggenhet ved sjøen, med opparbeidet hage i front. Kort vei til badestrender på begge sider av hotellet, og et flott bassengområde. En liten "gate" med butikker hvor man kunne få det aller nødvendigste, bilutleie, frisørsalong, tur-arrangør og en bistro som serverte småretter og drikkevarer. Man kunne bestille shuttle-bus til Dubrovnik, […] ellers var det ganske rimelig med taxi til fks. den vakre byen Cavtat i motsatt retning. l'hotel est très bien situé avec une crique à proximité idéale pour la baignade et une piscine (hélas bondée) sur un promontoire face à la mer. Beaucoup de monde, demi-pension à éviter car la restauration n'est vraiment pas terrible. Intéressant si l'on veut souffler un jour ou deux avant de reprendre l'avion du retour (à 10 mn de l'aéroport).

Hotel très charmant. Piscine agréable et accès par escalier à deux belles plages de galets (idéales pour la plongée avec un fond marin exceptionnel!). Beaucoup de services à disposition au sein de l'hotel: restaurant, superettes, souvenirs, locations de voitures, bar, mini club. Possibilité d'excursion. Navettes (bus ou bateau) pour Dubrovnik et Cavtat. Le […] personnel est très agréable et serviable. Petit bémol: la nourriture qui n'était en rien originale et régionale (mais très bonne et produit tout le temps frais!!). Dit is echt een aanrader! Heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Uitstekende ligging aan het strand en dichtbij Dubrovnik. Er is een shuttle bus naar Dubrovnik. Ook is het mogelijk ter plaatse een auto te huren. Er zijn 2 restaurants op het complex en een bar bij het zwembad.

Die Hotelaktivitäten sind vor allem für Familien sehr geeignet. Baden kann man am Steinstrand in der Nähe,ansonsten muss man nach Dubrovnik fahren für einen Sandstrand. Die Bushaltestelle befindet sich 15min. entfernt.
