Classic Motor Lodge West Green - West Greenwich

This hotel was nothing fancy, but more than adaquate. We needed a place close to a college graduation. It was fifteen miles away and close to the highway. The staff was friendly, the rooms clean and the restaurant across the street was very good.

I rented the room for the weekend because it was close to the college my daughter was about to attend and is attending now. The hotel is nice and the room I rented was very nice, clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and there is a small frig/microwave combo appliance for eating in if you do not want to go out. There is a nice resturant across […] the street and other eateries near by. It is neighbored by a nice truck-stop with a variety store and a good size laundromat for those who have extended stay business or vacation. Todays tractors are not as loud as they use to be and the truck traffic was sparse. You would hardly notice them comming or going unless you see them. Shopping is about 5 to 10 miles away on the interstate, so there are no shopping traffic problems. I loved the fact that the hotel is not too far from the interstate so that we can just hop on and get to the college, and not too close for traffic noise. Read more

The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was definitely not a 4 star hotel but because it looked pretty clean it was satisfactory. One issue is that it was supposed to be a non smoking room and it appeared to have a cigarette odor. we may have asked for a different room, but it was the last one available. overall we were satisfied

You get what you pay for. In the middle of nowhere and no amenities besides a soap bar. The room was clean enough but it sort of smelled of smoke despite the fact that it was a non smoking room.

You get what you pay for and I don't really mean that as a bad thing. Hotel was cheap but clean and everything worked fine. I would suggest bring your own towels maybe ashy he ones they have were small. Otherwise, sure the room could use a new carpet, paint job, ect, but I was all clean and a fine place for a nights sleep.

Close to the Interstate. Next to a truck gas station and overnight sleeping areas . The trucks were running all night long. There was a small run down convenience store next door. No coffee pot in the room but they didn't mention that there was a fridge and mcrowave in the room. We were 3 people in the room with 2 towels and 1 washcloth and 2 tiny slivers […] of soap. Not super clean but adequate. We were a little uncomforable with the permanent guest who looked like he was a homeless person in the front of the building. Read more

Room 209 was acceptable however, musty smelling and I had to actually buy room deoderizer. The bathroom was only surface cleaned and really should be scrubbed much better between guests. Also, there were cobwebs that needed to be cleaned off the ceiling of the bathroom. Where the hook had been, in the bathroom to hang a towel, a new one should be installed […] or at least the wall painted where it had been pulled off. Lastly a mirror install in the bathroom. The Classic Motor Lodge in West Greewich R.I. is nothing more than a "Truck Stop" motel kind of place. Just enough for a quick overnight stay so long as you don't find bed bugs and you don't mind the ugly plumbing under the counter and in the shower with the paper thin cloth shower curtain and a slow flushing toilet, Ugh... I wouldn't recommend the […] place, actually I'm sorry to see Hotels dot com carrying it, but hey, better than being out in the rain. Another thing, it's so far out in the woods - You better have a charged up cell phone and plenty gas, you'll go for miles on a dark road with nothing but woods on either side. My friend and I stayed at Classic Motor Lodge during our vacation in Newport, RI. Location was OK for us since we had a car (about 20 minute drive). Beware of toll bridge getting into Newport--can be pricey depending on the number of times you drive into the city. There was a convenience store next door and a Subway fast food restaurant down the road […] a bit, otherwise it's very rural. Staff were not overly pleasant but not rude either. Strictly business, that's all. Cleanliness of the room was adequate. bathroom and shower were clean. Bed actually very comfortable. Linens looked clean, but had old cigarette holes in them. Carpet old, worn, but I always bring bedroom slippers with me so that's not a big deal for me. Shower drain was slow to empty. No continental breakfast which is too bad. there was an envelope with fancy designed handwriting wishing me "a blessed day and tips are greatly appreciated". (made me smile a bit---I actually gave a tip due to that, so I guess it worked!!!) Price was reasonable considering what hotels were in Newport city. We didn't spend much time in hotel at all so all in all, it worked out pretty well. Read more

To start the room was dirty the toilet had a yellow ring around the water. the towels were dirty, the room smell really bad. i went and tell the lady . she gave us another room that it was as bad as the first one. i complaint of this one to. so i ask her for a non smoking room, and she said she couldnt give us a non smoking because it has two beds. […] so i told her i want my money back so i can get another place. she claim they couldn return my money. so finally she gave me the room but still i had to drive for like 15 minutes to the closest store to get my some cleaners and carpet powder and some candles so i could stay in there. This hotel was very diappointing, it took a long time for someone to unlock door to check in, the room was very dirty feeling, the carpet had a huge rip in it, the ceiling was falling down, the bathroom tiles were all cracked, the wiring was exposed. it was not clean, no resepcienist to answer the questions, no convinient to Ice box, small Tv and dirty, small piece of soap, very small and dirty Towls, very noisy Air conditons. All in all good for singles with hookers( short time). I and my wife had a very bad and sceary night, I don't recommend it to any family. Thank you.
