"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

Let the West Coast have Hollywood; Broadway’s lights are just as bright, and many screen actors come to the Great White Way to gain acting credibility. Area attractions include Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Resplendent St. Patrick’s Cathedral takes up a block at Fifth and 50th. Once seedy, Times Square now hosts ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.

Hotel is central to anything you want. Plays, restraints, times square, central park Re all within short walks. Hotel staff is very helpful, beds are comfortable and bathrooms large and bright. Can't think of a better place to stay!
"Terrific stay but high priced."

"Couple weekend getaway"
Great price and location - not alot of amenities, but who needs that in NY - you have the whole city to explore!
"Excellent accomodations/location at a great rate"
The room and corridor upstairs were very clean and exceptionally quiet. For staying in midtown and facing 45 St, I have never been in such a quiet hotel room. Rarely heard any noise from inside or outside the building. The room was very attractive and spacious for NYC standards but not nearly as large as the hotel claims the rooms to be. I had reserved […] a Deluxe Queen room but was upgraded at check-in to a Deluxe King on the 14th floor. I measured the room: about 275 sq ft for bedroom and 45-50 sq ft for bathroom. Spacious for NYC standards but perhaps not so large for 4-star NYC hotels. The bigger problem was lack of storage space (hanging and drawers)--tight for one person, absurd for two people. It is fine for a short 1-2 night stay with just a few belongings. Problem could easily be remedied as there is ample room for placing more storage units. Lighting in room is a little lacking too (more mood lighting than work lighting) although room had good natural light from the large windows. The staff encountered during 2-night stay were all very friendly and helpful. If I were paying full rate for this hotel I might consider other properties which offer more services and/or space. One of the best hotels I've stayed in NYC in a long time but typically I reserve 3 or 3.5 star hotels. The opening of BLT restaurant should be a plus for the property. Read more

"Great location, most comfortable bed!"
Although the restaurant was under construction, this is the most comfortable, quiet NYC hotel I have ever stayed in. The location is just a couple of blocks from both Grand Central Terminal and Times Square. Bed was amazingly comfortable, even for two people and the neighborhood very safe.
"Girlfriends week-end"
My stay at Cassa was very nice! Great front desk service. Excellent location. Excited about renovation of restaurant & look forward to going back there when it opens. No exhaust fan in bath is only complaint. Great place to stay in the city!
"Cassa Hotel"
Rooms are tiny, hardly enough space to open a suitcase. But this is NYC. Clean, modern and great staff.

"great hotel in nyc"
Extremely friendly and accomodating staff, beautiful and very clean rooms. I was very impressed and happy with my stay, I would definitely stay here again.
"Great Find!"
This hotel was in great condition with a modern feel and clean! But better than that was the customer service. Really top notch. Entire staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Excellent. Super convenient to Theater District,

"Nice room + Good service = Happy"
I needed a last minute hotel and stumbled upon Cassa. I enjoyed my stay and the room was nice. Larger TV than most other similarly priced NYC rooms I have stayed in. Would stay again for the right price.
"Great hotel! Very classy, and great location!"
The guest services is probably the one thing that needs any work at all, it's small and waiting can bother some. The concierge was never around when I walked by his desk, multiple times through out the 3 days we were staying. The rooms, very modern and fully furnished. Just prepare to pay for some treats if you choose to eat from their stash. Big tv, […] guessing over 46 inches. Beds pillows and comforters, excellent as far as comfort. Shower is nice and large, well capable of having 2 people. Would stay here again, and would refer it to anyone asking to stay in NYC. Only a couple block walk to anything you want. Read more
"Enjoyed our stay at the Cassa"
The room was small but very comfortable andy clean. The rainshower showerhead was an enjoyable surprise in the good sized bathroom. Location was most convenient. We'll stay here again.
"Beautiful hotel, bad customer service/experience"
We may have hit the hotel on a bad weekend - but it certainly WAS a bad weekend. They're renovating their restaurant and the smell of paint and/or polyurethane was overwhelming through much of the day. (They were inundated with complaints and, by evening, it had improved.) At 3:00 am, our thermostat began making a loud clicking noise and a repairman […] came up 15 minutes later to fix it. Then, at 6:30 am, we were woken by a very loud screeching noise coming from the water pipes. We again had to call the front desk, who said they'd send someone up; but the noises continued periodically throughout the morning. Upon checkout, we were asked about our experience and said it was one of the worst experiences we've had in a long time. We were told a manager would contact us to discuss our stay, but no further contact was made. It is a beautiful hotel in a great location - but the lack of follow-up or even moderate level of sympathy/interest from the management has perhaps been the most disappointing aspect of the stay. "Great Hotel!"
This was perfect for personal business travel! Gym was great! Showers are awesome. This is not the hotel to stay in if you play on staying in the hotel with another person. But who does that anyway when they're going to NYC???

Love this hotel. Great value and location. Will definitely stay here again.
"Good location, decent hotel."
Good location. Blocks from times square, restaurants, theaters, etc. Rooms were just okay, clean, but on the small side. Not alot of extras to speak of. However, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. So service was one of the best I've seen. Ultimately, would recommend.
"CASSA - Very Quiet and Well Furnished"
Hotel is just over 1 block from Times Square, and when the window was closed you could barely tell there were horns and sirens anywhere in the city! The bed and linens were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were modern, clean and in great condition. The room started out being too warm because the hallway was 80+ degrees F (in early December) so we […] had to run the room air conditioner for our entire stay in order to be comfortable in the room. We informed the front desk about the high temperature in the hallway but nothing was done about it. We booked the executive king room but didn't think it was quite the 400 sq.ft. it was supposed to be, but this is the tradeoff for being just off Times Square on Manhattan. I would definitely stay at the Cassa again. Read more
"Cool Place"
Its a cool place handy to everything. Should be great once the restaurant & bar open down stairs. I liked it the room and furniture were compact and funcational. Loved the shower and the fact it wasnt a tub, tall ennought for a tall guy. But I am a little 5'4" woman a big guy would have a problem with the standard room.
Staff was super friendly... Clean hotel. Good location

"The quietest room in NYC"
This is a really good hotel. The location is great. Close enough to Times square but far enough away. You can't hear any noise in the room, no horns, yelling, wind, nothing. I have never expeienced that before in NYC. The staff was generally very nice. I did have one bad incident with a rude maid, but management was very responsive and addressed the […] matter right away in a professional manner. So I give them 2 thumbs up. Also has a Starbucks right across the street for easy access morning coffee and a few good places to eat right in close proximity. I would definately stay here again. Read more
"Cassa Hotel in NYC"
Decent overall; but typical NYC hotel. Small room even after upgrade and overpriced. Front desk personnel were fantastic! Helpful, courteous and pleasant.

"Perfect"
Everything was perfect about my stay - from the time I checked in and got upgraded for free to the time I checked out and the front desk arranged for my car to the airport - and everything in between. "One of the best."
We stayed at the Cassa 10/20 and 10/21/11. We chose it because of its location, good reviews and pictures, and a very reasonable price. We came to N.Y. to see a few Broadway Shows, visit some Museums, walk the High Line, and do some shopping. Getting to and from the Broadway theaters is often a hassle but this location allowed us to walk to them or […] take the subway to Lincoln Center. The subway is just 2 short blocks away and went everywhere we waned to go. Our room was simple elegance. The bathroom beautiful with a wonderful shower. The bed was terrific and my wife slept through the night which she often doesn't do at home(and we have a new high quality bed). There was no noise from the street. We had 1 breakfast at the hotel and it rivaled a breakfast we had in one of N.Y."s great restaurants and was less expensive. The hotel staff were friendly, pleasant, and helpful. We are experienced travelers and only stay at premium hotels. This rates amongst the ones we've enjoyed the most Read more
very small...so small in fact that there was no closet, no dresser and no chair for the desk. one has to live out of one's suitcase. There were two extra hooks in the bathroom to hang overcoat and a pair of pants.
This was the first time I stayed here. I liked it. Perfect location, very clean, great staff. I would come back and stay again.
"Very Happy"
The staff was very nice and courteous – always had a smile on their faces. They were genuine when they asked if there was anything they could help you with. The room while a little on the small side but I was only there for one night – and this is no different from any of the other hotel rooms I’ve been in over the years in NYC. The bed was by far the […] most comfortable hotel bed I’ve slept in – I actually asked them where they were bought. The hotel is located right off of Time Square and is conveniently situated to anything major in NYC. Read more

Room decor was a bit dated but the bathroom was surprisingly chic and modern.

"Cassa Hotel- Convenient, Upscale and First-Class"
I was surprised at the convenience of the location; I had meetings in the financial and typically stay down there. It was easy as could be to get down there in the morning, and the staff was wonderfully helpful in making sure I made it. The room was nice, as was the hotel in general--clean and tidy, and as I said, the location near Times Square was […] fabulous. Most of all, the staff was fantastic. They helped me get everywhere I needed to be, had great recommendations and assisted with my luggage hours after I checked out. I will certainly be making Cassa Hotel my choice of hotels in NYC. "Meh... Not a bad hotel."
Not a great hotel, but for NYC it was fine. No ammenities or anything, very very basic. A room. Period. We were told we were "upgraded" to a Queen room and then were sent to a room with what looked a lot like a full bed. In general, the hotel was fine. It was relatively clean and affordable. Only thing that sticks out in my mind as memorable about […] this hotel is the Japanese breakfast. Wow, that was good. One other thing, the pictures show this glorious and amazing sky scraper with beautiful views and such. The hotel is only the bottom levels where you have no view at all except of the neighboring buildings. Read more
Good location. Clean nice rooms, could use more storage in room and bathroom. Corridors look very run down, scratches on all walls, corridors not attractive at all.
"Good location, clean but small room"
Midtown location, close to Time Square and Rockefeller Center. Quite room (for NYC stanbdards). Room was very clean and modern, bathroom has a good size...but closet space is absurd, can't even hang a raincoat!
