Post Hotel - San Francisco

This is an unsafe hotel. It is old and broken. If you must stay here, as I had to, do not get on th elevator. Inside the room, no place to sit. Hotel also serves as a weekly/monthly drop in with toilets and showers in the common area.

They have bed bugs, and the sheet is not clean

My stay at the Post Hotel this past weekend was fantastic. I stayed there from Saturday November 12th - Monday November 14th. Great location, disgusting rooms though, we wouldn't even sleep in the sheets and it reeked of cigarette smoke! Yuck.

Upon our arrival (2 hours past check in time) we were sent to a room that was FILTHY and had not even been made up. Dirty linens, trash everywhere, towels all over the floor. When we complained about this they said they were unable to assign us another room and that we would have to wait for the maids to clean that room, so we were forced to wait in […] the hall with our luggage for over an hour and a half. The beds and pillows were in terrible condition and very uncomfortable. Staff was rude. The elevator was not working and we were on the 5th floor. We were there for an even and ALL the other hotels in the area were sold out by the time we realized all the problems with Post Hotel. It was a horrible experience! Thank goodness we were only stuck there for one night! I would NEVER stay there again no matter what the rate. Great location but just not worth the dirty uncomfortable room and very rude staff. The best thing of the hotel is the location. It's 3 blocks from Union Square and the neighborhood is for tourists. The room is good also. It's clean, it has a big bed, Cable TV with more than 200 chanels and big and clean shower. The internet is really fast and good in all hotel. But, the thing that I didn't like was the really poor condition of the […] hotel facilities (reception, lobby, elevator, corridors, etc). I did not want to believe the bad reviews as many people are just not happy and have high expectations. The proprietors were nice enough, the rooms was fine, but everything else was not up to the price they charged for the room. People were smoking in the rooms just across the hall from my room and it was a cigar, and other times it was a cigarette. […] There was yelling and strange noise coming out from the room. These were people who rent monthly. I am not sure how to describe what type of people they are, but I guess seniors from varied cultures from the lower economic status. I paid comparable fares to the other hotels in the area(2 blks from union square) per night with tax, and I have never encountered a hotel with this price tag with these problems. I am not sure why they are mixing monthly rental people with paying guests. This hotel caters to these people and does not care about their higher paying guests. I complained many times about the smoke, I do not think they cared one bit what I said. The elevator rarely was operational as these monthly renters had it tied up constantly. Thank God I was in good shape as I was on the 4th floor. I suggest that staying here is a waste of money. Contributing to this hotel just doesn't seem right. I am sure that if they but all the long term renters on floors higher up, then we wouldn't have to be on the same floor. Read more

Location was a block away from Union Square making it very easy to everything. The room on the other had was VERY small. There was enough room for the king size bed and one chair. There was a Korean restaurant/bar under my room that kept me awake until 2:00 am. I moved my room the next night.

The hotel is a block off Union Square, very handy location. Unfortunately we drove right by the entry and with traffic it took us 20 minutes to go around the block. It is a semi-converted boarding house with no lobby or other areas to speak of. The heater was a classic radiator and took a long time to get the room warm. the room is old. you can't open a window because is located on the traffic road. There is no patrking and the worst thing you don't have toilet in the rooms.

Situation au coeur même de la ville, rue desservie par bus Chambre propre, salle de bains pratique, Bemol, le bruit de la rue...j'ai mis des boulles Quiès...ce qui ne me gêne pas. L'ascenseur est un peu vétuste.

Great location, clean rooms, fairly clean common areas, very cosy. Very good value for money.

Si dormir dans les toilettes d'une boite de nuit (celle du rez-de-chaussée) ne vous dérange pas, cet hôtel est fait pour vous...
