Nice small hotel with a pool and free parking. Several stores and restaurants across the street. About 30-40 minute walk to old city, so if staying for several days, you will need a car.

Not a luxury hotel, but at this price, I couldn't really complain. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was clean. Wifi and Cable TV. I would definitely stay there again.

Clean and comfortable beds. The front desk staff was very helpful and although the location is not walking distance to Old Quebec we found it less expensive to stay with free parking and just take a taxi back and forth. We found it to be a very pleasant location and stay!

Basic hotel to spend a night or two near the city. The room was much smaller than expected. The breakfast was sufficient. Not having the elevator makes it hard for people with lots of luggage and a baby stroller. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel has no elevator! We had to lug our luggage up 3 floors. There was a surcharge of $10 for my son even though we were only three people in the room i.e. 2 adults and one 17 yr old. I just stayed in this hotel for five nights. First, let me say from some of the reviews I was skeptical but many were unfounded. It isn't in an upscale neighborhood but I didn't find it frightening by any means. The rooms were clean, and I stayed in three different rooms while there. Granted, they are not large but when a person is only sleeping there […] does it need to be large? The desk clerks were of exceptional quality. Very friendly, helpful, and courteous. It is easy to take tours from the hotel, which I did, and buses are very close although I didn't use them. The location is dependent upon where you need to be. It was fine for what we needed. I did find it difficult to speak with some of the retail people since it is not in especially a tourist part of town, which I enjoyed. I only spoke English so I did some pointing but was able to get by fine. The only down side I found was no elevators and many steps for an older person but on the flip side, the personnel was very good to help me transfer my luggage from one room to another. The breakfast was ample. I enjoyed being there and would stay there again as it was clean and the beds were good beds. I think when a person reads reviews they need to keep in mind that many people have different expectations and how particular you are can alter the slant on the reviews. Read more

First let me state the room was clean. Parking was a dark lot in the back alley of the hotel. Room did not reflect the website. Rooms are very very small. zero amenities with the exception of free wifi. if you are looking for a quaint no frills stay, then this is the hotel for you. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel.

My husband and I were very excited to visit Quebec City but we had no idea what to expect. When we got to the hotel, we first noticed that it is kind of in a run-down neighborhood. The streets were deserted and had an "abandoned city" feel. Pros: 1) friendly staff - front desk was very friendly 2) good breakfast - for breakfast, they serve cereal, […] coffee, pasteries, toast, and other things. very simple. we were running late and thought we had missed breakfast but there were still people there and we were able to grab some food before heading out. 3) pool - we didn't go to the pool but i was surprised that they had one. 4) free parking behind the hotel. big plus! Cons: 1) no elevators: we were on the 3rd floor and had to get our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. whew! 2) small, run-down room: the room was tiny and we had a corner room with a very odd shape. Plus, the bathroom was pretty run down (not necessarily dirty but looked like it was falling apart) 3) neighborhood is not very exciting. i would recommend having a car or some sort of transportation. We completely enjoyed the Hotel Du Nord. We can't say enough about it. The room wasn't huge but it was comfortable and was perfect for our needs. It was clean, the staff were nice, and there was plenty to eat for the (free) breakfast--and even for a midnight nibble if you're starving or need a cuppa before bed. Found hotel very clean and staff extremely informative and friendly. We left our car for the 11 days we were on a cruise and we found the car safe and sound upon return. Hotel is three floors with no elevator. Taxi service is expensive and no flat rate is available.
