I had a great time in my cousin's wedding which was held in this hotel. I stayed 2 nights in a double twin bed room with my niece, Abigail. It was antique room needs a little updating but quite comfortable and has character of late 18th Century building. It came with free wifi and breakfast which was convenient. The staff was very helpful. I also used the spa facilities. Dd not have time to use the swimming pool and the gym but will do next time I visit.

The guest house is run by an extremely friendly and helpful couple - nothing is too much trouble. I was made to feel immediately at home. The room was nicely decorated - clean and contemporary. I really could not fault this place - it was amazing value - better than places I have stayed in at three times the price.

This was a great place to stay & I'd recommend it, esp. if you're coming/going by train, as the Stracey Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Norwich train station. The only thing is, arriving by train at night and walking to the hotel it felt a bit like I was walking in the middle of nowhere with not many people around, which was a bit disconcerting as a woman traveler, but then I realized the hotel was pretty close. The hotel staff was really helpful and pleasant, and the room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom/shower was nice and modern, unlike most of the other hotels I stayed at during this particular trip. Also, it's an easy 15 minute or so walk from the Stracey into the downtown Norwich area (market, shops, castle, etc.). Also if you take the city bus it stops at the train station so then walking to the hotel is easy from there.

Hotel is close to the water but a little out of the main town. The single rooms are very small indeed and they are not identical, mine had a large tub, my brother's a shower only. The hotel is very dated. The restaurant was not bad.

Stayed here for 1 night for work purposes. Received a good welcome on arrival. The room was comfortable although a little small, but for the price couldn't ask for more really. All the usual facilites you would expect for the money - SKY channels, ensuite, coffee making etc. Ate dinner at the bar, really good value in nice surroundings - 2 courses and […] few beers came in under £25. Breakfast was tasty with a lovely view over to the ocean. Would recommend this place if you are on a budget. Could be modernised slightly but overall a positive experience. Read more

The hotel lies right above the beach of Lowestoft at the North Sea coast, I paid extra for the sea view and being lulled into sleep by the sound of the surf on the beach was stunning. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The marginal comment was the restaurant; coffee tasted like chlorated tap water and was far to weak, breakfast was not very inspiring. […] Better value to go to one of the cafees along the boardwalk but with that location overlooking the North Sea (uniterupted sea view just hundred yards away) it was all in all magical. Read more
