City Hotel Lonestar Shinjuku - Tokyo

The location is close to subway stations and the shopping area are walking distance. The room is small and dated. Sort of a dirty motel feeling. The walls are thin, so you will hear noises. It comes with very basic western breakfast. Staffs are helpful and understand a bit of English. I, personal ly, would not stay here again.

The single bed room was small but it was clean and it had your basic necessities. If you're staying in Japan for just a few days, and you're only back at the hotel to shower and sleep, then it'll do. But otherwise, I'd recommend staying at another one. Lots of shopping opportunities around the area.

City Hotel Lonestar is in a great location, and the staff is excellent. When I lost my credit card, they went above and beyond to locate a Japanese number so I wouldn't have to pay international fees and were very helpful with the language barrier. The rooms are clean and have everything you need.

The hotel is just a short walk (about 5 min) from the East exit of Shinjuku station. The hotel deluxe room is on par par with other Japanese hotels of the same class. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants within a few minutes of the hotel. If your looking for a central location with easy access to all of Tokyo this would be a good choice.

Not one of the nices hotels but it gets the job done. But you are better off going some place else as there are many other hotels a few minutes from the city by subway that are much nicer and cheaper. They are also very strict about visitors, so if you meet someone that wants to go back to the hotel with you it's a big deal.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk (or less if you walk fast) from the east side of Shinjuku Station. Exit from the East Exit. We took the west exit and walked around the station, it is not very easy to cut through the station as a foreign tourist. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable. And she spend a solid 5-7 minutes looking it up online for us, and the photocopying a map that told us exactly where our bus-stop was. So helpful! The room was quite clean for the most part, although there are a few stains on the wall. And the bed runner had stains on it, too. But those were the only things that I found to be not up to snuff, everything else was good. We checked the bed for bedbugs as a previous reviewer had mentioned them, and did NOT have have bedbugs in our room. The bathroom very tidy. There is internet available in the room if you brought your laptop. Just ask for an ethernet cord at the front desk. It's fast and free. Overall I would stay here again! The hotel is located right around the corner from the Shinjukusanchome station exit c8 and about a block away from the main shopping area. The only complaint I have is that the bathroom reeked of urine when we first got in. We told the front desk and they had it cleaned when we where out. I recommend this hotel for gay travelers especially, given its location in the heart of Tokyo's gay area. It is small, but clean and well maintained, and the staff speak reasonable English.

Our group comprises 3 adults and 3 children above 6 yrs old. Booked two std twin rooms at City Hotel Lonestar. Although rooms were non-smoking, upon entry, the rooms reeked of smoke smell, corridors as well. Rooms were really small and squeashy for 3 per room. Walls were dirty and on 2nd & 3rd night, several of us were bitten either by bed bugs or mosquitoes. Although […] the hotel is near the metro entrance, there is a lot of walking from the train disembarking point to exit C8 where the hotel was located. Lots of stairs, no escalators which was a bit of a problem for my 70-yr-old mum. Walked around the neigjbourhood one evening and found several pubs with rowdy crowds lining the adjacent street. This hotel is probably better suited to young travellers who may like the night spots. For families, we should probably have paid a little more for Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku next time for the convenience of Airport Limou pick-up directly at that hotel, direct access to trains and bigger sized rooms. The saving grace was the breakfast and free water/Jap tea/coffee through dispensing machines on the 4th floor, which were all included in the price. Read more

Hotel was pretty standard but comfortable. Breakfast and Internet in the room were included. Basically a place to sleep in the heart of Shinjuku. Hotel was a bit hard to find and ended up having to take a taxi after one hour of walking around Shinjuku station.
