I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Columbia. The staff were very friendly and some spoke english (which helped). The breakfast was buffet style with an ok selection of items. The hotel is in the city center so it is older, but I sort of like that charm. Just know if you prefer things to be completely modern, you will not like it. All in all, it was clean which is the most important. A/C worked fine and there were no problems with the internet. There are several networks you can use, so which ever picks up the best signal. The comfort of the beds could be a little better, but it wasnt horrible. Windows have a metal draw down which is great if you want to sleep in without the sunlight coming through. The surrounding neighborhood can be a bit seedy and seem dangerous because of the people hanging out and some vagrants, but to be fair, I noticed that through just about the entire city. It sort of reminded me of San Francisco in that sense. (Again, nothing directly against the hotel, because it was all over). All in all, I would stay there again. Also, from the airport (GRU) it is very easy to use the airport bus to Praca Republica and the hotel was a 7 minute walk away. With traffic, the bus took about 50 minutes, but I flew home on a Sunday and it only took 30 minutes to get back to the airport from Praca Republica. (The airport bus has an office in Praca Republica).

Quem quer um mínimo de higiene e condições para descanso, não se hospeda no Linson. Aparelho de ar condicionado com ruído alto que atrapalha muito o sono, cortina plástica no banheiro, que após o banho deixa a parte de fora do "box" totalmente alagada, entre outros detalhes muito desagradáveis.

Fui bem atendido no Linson, mas isso não é suficiente. O quarto tinha um cheiro absurdo de mofo, a ponto de ter ficado toda a estada com as janelas abertas, mesmo com frio. Preferi me cobrir com lençol e colchas do que ficar com as janelas fechadas e ar ligado; não conseguia. Somente assim, pude ter um pouco de conforto. O quarto é amplo e essa é a […] parte boa, as toalhas são ruins, embora limpas (finas e ásperas) e os sabonetes de baixa qualidade. Lençóis e e colcha sem problemas. A localização do hotel é péssima, numa região chamada de "Baixa Augusta", onde as tribos e grupos do local, por conta das diversas boites e "inferninhos", estão sempre por perto. Por ter ficado num quarto alto, não tive problemas com barulho, embora seja uma área de intensa movimentação de carros e de vida noturna. A vista da janela é bem agradável e o café da manhã razoável. A localização é péssima! Apesar de ter cômodos grandes, no primeiro quarto a televisão não funcionava e o chuveiro não esquentava. Fui trocada de apartamento e não teve nenhum funcionário para me ajudar pois já havia instalado minhas coisas no outro apartamento e ninguém se propôs a me acompanhar na troca. A internet paga não estava conectando e numa […] das inúmeras vezes que tentei falar com a recepção o atendente me deixou esperando no telefone por quase 10 minutos e depois desligou o telefone!!!!
