"Awesome People Hotel is Nice"
All the staff is incredible. They are extremely helpful and accommodating. We came in late, left early, changed our reservation - paid by credit card, dong and USD. They can do it all. A very nice breakfast as well. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends and family. It is in Zone 3 - 2 KM from the train station and near Zone 1.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our three days at the Thien Thao was wonderful. We are walkers and definitely need not mind attempting the sidewalks of Saigon, so the location was not really an issue for us. The service was fantastic and useful, someone was always at the desk to be sure we didn't need anything. If we return to Saigon, we will stay here again. Recommended!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"near the local lifestyle"
This hotel is located in district 3. No famous attractions near the hotel. However I can taste the local lifestyle here by eating lunch in a local restaurant without English on the menu. And there is a Maximark shopping mall selling reasonably priced products. The staff is nice and my room is big enough with all facilities. The speed of wifi is quick. "Pleasant hotel and staff."
This hotel was nice for the price. The staff was very helpful, and they were very good about calling cabs from trustworthy companies (this can be a problem in Vietnam, and apparently some hotels have "arrangements" with less trustworthy drivers). The location can be a plus or minus depending on your perspective; it is in District 3, as opposed to District […] 1, so you would need to take a short cab ride to a lot of the sights or downtown. On the other hand, the neighborhood is not as "touristy" so it gives you a different perspective about what day-to-day life in HCM might be like. Personally, I think it's worth it. "The best service"
Service was incredible, helped us booked anything we needed. We stayed here on arrival in Ho Chi Minh and when we came back to fly out again. "Thien Thao Hotel in district 3"
This is a comfortable and cozy hotel located in district 3. Free breakfast is usually included from 6-9:30pm, and they have a great selection of items including scrambled eggs, fresh baguettes and pho. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only drawback, is that it is not near the main attractions in district 1 e.g. Ben Thanh markets, […] Tax free department store etc. Walking distance is at least 20 minutes, so you will need to take a taxi or bus no. 2 (bus stop is only 1 min walk), which will take to you directly to the main bus stop at Ben Thanh. "Lack of choices in breakfast"
3 of us has to book and pay for 2 twin rooms. There is a problem with the plumbing in one of the rooms with a constant foul smell from the toilet. Staff were unable to fix it while we stayed there x 2 nights. Although we've paid for 4 people the staff was reluctant to let us order 4 breakfast and there were only 1 kind of fruit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not the ideal location for tourists"
On my trip, I split time between Dist. 3 and Dist. 1. In D3, I stayed at Thien Thao Hotel because I wanted to get a closer look at how the local VN live. This hotel will be a bit out of the way for a tourist, as you will need to take a taxi or motorbike to anything a tourist would want to see. It seemed there were more than a few Japanese tourists put […] up in the hotel by tour companies, which speaks to the value of the hotel. That said, if you want to eat and shop like the locals this place fits the bill. Room was large as HCMC standards go, generally comfortable, and a few dollars cheaper than a comparable D1 hotel. The front desk was friendly, although they seem to have a bit of trouble understanding English, the security dude was a bit shifty. Breakfast was a choice of pho or Western eggs, served in an area just past the lobby and next to the elevator. Biggest complaint was the shower backed up because the maid did not clean the drain trap and it didn't have hot water until probably said Japanese tourists complained. "So so service"
We asked for their pick up service from the airport to their hotel in advance. However, we waited for almost an hour before the driver arrived, stating there was traffic. The only reason I doubt this excuse is that it started to rain and there was traffic, but it still only took about 20min to go to the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Solid Budget Hotel"
Thiên Thảo Hotel is a solid budget hotel comparable to Motel 6 in the United States. Amenities include lobby internet access, basic breakfast for two people, coffee in the lobby throughout the day, money exchange…The hotel staffs are eager to serve their customers. This hotel is located at the intersection of Cao Thắng and Điên Biên Phủ streets. Like […] most streets in Vietnam, Cao Thắng street is constantly busy all day and night supporting everything imaginable like restaurant establishments, makeshift motorbike repairs and food stalls, a reformed opera theatre, xe ôm (cheap motorbike transportation), taxi services…I give this basic hotel thumbs up. The room was really comfortable, the staff were really friendly and helpful - allowed us early check in and even hailed taxis for us. "Noisy location but staff great"
Thien Thao Hotel, Ho Chi Minh Overall: Small room and simple Location: On a busy road with a theatre opposite that played quite loud music. A supermarket and cinema 15 min walk away. Transport: The most trusted taxi company is Mailinh group which only the locals use. From the airport, the Mailinh Group attendants will help you flag one down (they are […] in green uniform). Use smaller vehicles when possible as it would be cheaper than lager ones. Other taxi companies serve the airport and will charge alot more for smarter cars. Cost from airport cost us 130,000 dong. Staff: Very fluent english speaking receptionist. Accessibility: Lifts to rooms Cleanliness: Wall in room needs a wallpaper change and the bathroom grout needs to be re-done. Bedsheets did not smell very nice and the room has a lingering smokers air. Bathroom has a bath tub and shower had good pressure. Decor: Cream and brown theme and somewhat dated in its appeal but cosy enough in the small space. Wifi: On third floor, the signal was excellent. Freebies: bottled water. Breakfast: none requested Leisure facilities: none Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, little far out but great value for £."
Really enjoyed our stay here, the hotel staff were extremely helpful, not pushy in sales but make lots of helpful suggestions and know the area well. We found it preferable to walk when we could to the main sites in Saigon, and this hotel is a little far out, but it's the value for money that is more important here, the hotels (big names) are MUCH more […] expensive and we heard bad things about other similar price bracket hotels closer to the centre, e.g. The market, so we were happy with our choice. If you are asking for pick up, ask can they book a sky taxi for you $9, rather than the hotel car $20. The only thing, watch where you put your laundry bag, the maid mistakenly took my laundry bag; destined for home, and was about to send it to the off-site laundry, luckily I came back from a day out and intercepted beforehand. I'd left the bag, on the bed, so they did think they were being helpful. Other than that, great hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely Hotel with Excellent Service"
I stayed at this Hotel for 4 nights, and was delighted by the experience. The Hotel is surrounded by plenty of shopping and restaurant opportunities, and is an easy taxi ride to most of the tourist sites in HCMC. My stay included a good buffet breakfast each morning, with a lovely selection of both cooked and cold dishes, cereal, fruit, juices and tea/coffee. All […] the staff were so delightful, cheerful and helpful, right from the doorman to the receptionists to the restaurant staff and the room attendants. Nothing was too much trouble - they were so attentive with great attitudes towards the service they provide. The receptionists, Kelly and Michelle, were fluent in english (a great help for an Australian like me) and provided exceptional service in translating language for me, arranging sightseeing, and suggesting shopping, entertainment and dining experiences. I would most certainly recommend this Hotel as an essential component of a memorable HCMC holiday. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

cheap hotel with good service. staff was really helpful in every way possible! you can approach them to get you a cab (the legit ones and not the ones that were scams since the city is full of them) , get tours and even recommend places of interests for us.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Pleasant and reliable"
Travelling the first time into Vietnam, and knowing that not the whole of Asia can't be as comforting like Thailand, I trusted the reviews recommending this hotel highly. I must admit that that was a wise choice. Hotel staff spoke English excellently, and was very helpful in assisting finding local good restaurants, explaining how to deal with Vietnamese […] taxi drivers etcetera. For everybody who is looking for basic comfort in combination with affordability (i.e. clean room, working bathroom, airconditioning, good quality breakfast), this is definitely a good choice. Walking distance towards the city centre in our experience was 40-45 minutes - no problem on holiday. One thing we only later found out is that prices for day trips in this hotel are threefold of what can be booked downtown. Still isn't a lot of money in comparison to western prices, but 150,000 dong sounds just less than 588,000 dong. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This is an excellent 3star hotel, very clean, large rooms and the staff go out of their way to help. The hotel rooms (I stayed in two different rooms) seem a bit dated however that is more than made up for by the friendly staff. Included is free breakfast and free internet access. "You get what you pay for - its very basic."
The best thing about the hotel is the location - very central to everything. The staff try very hard to please but don't always get it right the first time. Housekeeping forgot to leave towels on the 2nd day and I had to ask twice before they appeared. Had trouble with the safe not working so they brought up a small replacement but I suggested that […] it was not a very good option. It was small enough for a person to pick it up and carry it out the door as it was not attached to anything. They eventually brought a new larger safe. Shower was just a hand held hose. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on the end of our 2 week trip around Vietnam. We had 3 Superior Rooms and found them all very clean and comfortable. The beds in the rooms were massive. Stayed here for4 days everything was clean and staff very pleasant .Cant complain about anything except the noise from the traffic outside starts at 6am and ends at 1pm . Simple, clean, comparatively spacious room. Don't expect a room with a great view though. Small selection for breakfast but a la carte. Super friendly and attentive staff. "Close but no cigar"
Thien Thao is an inexpensive, small and nice hotel located in District 3. The location is a bit off from everything and the area is full of one way streets, making it difficult to get there. There are a few restaurants nearby the hotel, but if you want to see the town or go shopping it's better to get a taxi. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel […] and I was quite pleased with the room, but the location can be a problem if you like me prefer to walk to where you are going.
