There has been a fresh coat of paint and new furnishings, however the Mohawk is still a little tired. The carpet had many burns, the bath tile was new, however the old pink tub and rusty grab bars have been there for some time. I would never spend another night there. I refused to even use the shower. The sheets and towels looked like the were purchased at a garage sale. Towels and sheets were in various colors and worn thin. The carpet was filthy and since they were doing renovations paint fumes were overwhelming. Overall the worse place I've ever slept in.

The room obviously had water damage to the cieling, and it was musty smelling and damp. The room itself was good sized, but there was no printed information about TV channels or anything about the hotel in the room.

Use this hotel only if necessry. The man at the front desk is very unfriendly. There is NO INTERNET, wireless or otherwise in any room! I was told I have to set in the bar to use my computer. Everyone was friendly, the only downside is the hallway reeked of smoke, but the hotel can't control the lazy people who can't be bothered to walk outside. I liked the rustic feel, and breakfast was delicious. The bathrooms could use updating and don't be fooled by the pictures, not every room had a fireplace.

Our room was very spacious and included a king-sized bed, full sofa, desk, and TV cabinet with dresser drawers. Much needed renovations have just been started. The plans look very ambitious. Once done, "condition and maintenance of the hotel" should be first rate. The motel served it's purpose as a stay onroute to another destination. We would not choose this location for an extended stay or a destination unless we wanted to spend a lot of time at the Mohawk Race Track which is right next door. The motel even gives each person a $10 gaming coupon and 15% meal discount for the Racino. Bring a flashlight because […] the bathroom/washstand area only has one light switch which turns on the bright florescent light and ceiling fan and bathroom light all at once which immediately wakes up your partner at 03:00am and they are not happy to see you. We arrived on a rainy night and soon discovered that the old roof drainage pipes ran right above us to the outdoor spout which then dripped outside our window 5 feet into a cement gutter. Gives the chinese water torture trick a new application. Luckily I had ear plugs. The breakfast in the restaurant was great and the service was too. For the price, it was a nice interlude but we may not use this facilty again, especially in the rain. Read more
