"Kerkis Bay Hotel, friendliest we've ever been"
So nice and lovely hotel in such a beautiful & friendful village Ormos Maranthokampos in Samos. The position is in the middle of the village but still so peaceful. Our room (suite) was very roomy, the furniture was a bit ascetic - but hey - the island itself was something that we were about to explore. Staff is very friendly, especially the receptionist […] lady handled everything that we needed, and during our visit the taxis were in strike. We truly recommend this hotel. "Sweet family owned hotel in a tiny village"
05/22/14 Anthropol_FI Oulu, Finland
As a hiking "base camp" this hotel worked just fine. The village Ormos is very small with a lot of charm (even thought the harbour is under construction). The hotel beds are pretty hard, the interior dark and a bit outdated, but this is not a place for staying inside anyways. The tavern of the hotel is really nice at the harbour. Breakfast is modest, but you will get your stomach full (bread, jams, yogurt, boiled eggs, cheese, cerial and this type of basic stuff). We also ate dinner at the tavern and food was good and basic. Very authentic. In case you long for luxury, this is not a hotel for you. The location is fabulous, because the town of Ormos is still very Greek and it is a local fishing harbour (which they will tranfer into a luxury harbour in the near futur). Visit there before it is too late. Thank you for the owner family for a lovely stay at the Kerkis Bay Hotel.

Nice place but long way from Vathy at least 1 and half hours drive . Driving on the mountains 50 km per hour. Some taverns in town but more nice place and beach near by maybe 10 min drive . It's a fishing town . No. beach in town. You have to drive at least 10 min to get the beach . Beaches are sand and pebble Very clear

We spent 4 nights at Kerkis Bay, it's a nice, simple hotel in a small village. If you like a quiet, calm vacation, I'd highly recommend it. But don't even think of going to Ormos without renting a car, it's impossible to get there without one. The breakfast was simple but nice, and the Kerkis Bay tavern had wonderful food at night. Everyone should definitely try the lamb Kleftiko, it was amazing. The staff were extremely helpful. The only small issue was that they didn't change the sheets or towels during our entire stay, even though they were clearly stained. Oh and the hotel faces an empty field, not the sea, so there are no standard rooms with a sea view.

We stayed at the Kerkis Bay Hotel from the 2rd -16th July. This is a lovely small hotel in a fantastic location. The rooms are excellent. They are cleaned every day . They always offer a good selection of food and even if you are a fussy eater you would still not go hungry. The staff here will go out of there way to make sure you have a great holiday. A special mention to Sokrates baba, hes beautiful wife Maria ,Kostas mama Bebi, Kosta and the beautiful Stella ( like a sister for me now ), for making our holiday so memorable. You all work so hard and really make the Kerkis Bay Hotel the place it is.I hope to see you next year . And Don't forget me .LOVE U GUYS !

Nice clean hotel in Ormos. Breakfast every day, included. The balcony was a bit small, but overall a very nice hotel with friendly staff for a good price. Not very far from Votsalakia village (about 3 kilometres), where you can rent bikes, motorbikes and cars for a cheap price. You can book various Boat trips as well, The Best Beach nearby is Psili Ammos which is about 6 kilometres from Ormos. I went there alomost every day, it's a good place for snorkeling with very clear water.
"Little village at the back of nowhere :)"

I spent about a week at the Kerkis Bay Hotel and was favourably impressed both by the Hotel (mind you, it is very simple but OK) and the village. My room was quite large with a small balcony (big enough for a little table and two chairs). Both Ms. Stella and Mr. Socrates were very kind and helpful. The village is quite peculiar: a few houses, a supermarket, 2 bakeries, 2 souvenir shops. No ATM, no farmacy. Just a few tourists, mainly Greeks or North Europeans. Lovely place, but you definitely need a car. I'm used to travelling by bus in Greece, but I had the impression that this area is not particularly well served, as far as transportation is concerned.

Arrived very early in the morning, tired and wet, to find rooms ready and a breakfast including coffee, tea, yogurt, olives, ham, cheese, wonderful bread and fruit, waiting. By the second night I had learned how to use the heat (it was a stormy few days) so my room was warm. Juliette balcony was too small for more than one person, but great for drying laundry. Bed was typically Greek-hard, and hot water, provided only by solar power, was intermittent, but that was part of the fun. Food was excellent! Would go back given the slightest reason, and thanks to the hostess for being so friendly and considerate.

"Return to Greece with Peace & Tranquility in Beautiful Ormos"

A lovely comfortable hotel with all mod cons, hairdryer, safe, tv, phone, wonderful bath (unusual for Greece), heater-airconditioner, plenty of sockets, lift. Staff extremely friendly, maid Katerina was in everyday emptying bins & regularly changed towels & sheets. Pleasant balcony at side looking forward towards the sea. Stella on reception & everywhere else could not do enough to make our stay memorable & a real asset to the hotel. Breakfast was good with plenty of Greek Yoghurt & honey, plus toast, cereal, cheese, ham, marmalade, fresh orange & coffee. Breakfast either inside or outside in Hotel Taverna. Not many visitors around this May, mostly from Scandanavian countries with just a scattering of Brits, postbox had been removed & just one supermarket with an amazing assortment of stock, also a wonderful bakery served us well! Weather in May very changeable with some thunderstorms, but sun most days. Lots of lovely walks & relaxation round the pretty working harbour. Enjoyed the food in all the Tavernas & great Pizzas at the very friendly Pizza Cave. This is a working Traditional Greek village & has to be one of the most friendly villages in Greece we have visited. Early in season no organised excursions either by sea or road, next resort Votsalakia has a pleasant sandy beach, gift shops & tavernas, more touristy but pleasant & only took approx 40 minutes to walk there for us pair of pensioners, be careful as locals dont give you much space. Also ensure carry a torch at night we experienced couple of power cuts, fortunately had our torches. Would love to visit Kerkis Bay & Ormos again.
