"Staff work very hard to give you a good holiday"
Beautiful pool and surrounding pool area with lively chart music from 11-6 every day from the pool bar. Slight shortage of sunbeds on the day that a party of 20 mature singles arrived. Germany lady on reception works hard to keep everything running smoothly with the mainly German, Dutch & Scandanavian guests. Breakfast a little limited and occasionally […] lacking when large numbers arrived at once and staff unable to meet demand promptly - omelette and mini hot dog sausages every day and eggy bread. Poor quality greek yogurt with honey. Two types of cereals. Cooked meat & cheese with bread. OJ and water. Tea & coffee - ready made in a flask. Choice of jams. Nice seating area outside on verandah. Opportunity to take extra coffee and sit to watch the world go by from the balcony overlooking the pool. No hairdryer in the room was frustrating and having asked three times to borrow one - nothing was worthcoming even though I gave my room number twice to reception. Also poor wifi connectivity which regularly was unavailable. I believe that the quality of service and amount of effort made by staff make this place very good value for money though. Also restaurant at the sister hotel, Ilios Hotel, located below this hotel is excellent for evening meals - home cooked and delightful food with football t.v. available. Located about 25 mins walk into Pythagoriou which is fine along good roads with pavement and well lit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Voin suositella. Lähellä kenttää muttei meluisa. Taksilla 6 eur pääsee pythagorian keskustaan muutamassa minuutissa. Kiva allas-alue ja mukava baarimikko Yannis. Hyvä hinta/laatu suhdeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent value & service with slightly out of town location"

Lovely place to stay with beautiful sea water pool with bar serving drinks & snack food throughout the day and accompanying Athens Party streamed up to the minute music. We walked to the hotel from the airport in fifteen minutes along country roads having got off the 06:30 flight from Athens. Warm welcome from German receptionist - majority of guests are from Netherlands, Scandinavia & Germany. Room was quite high on the site, reached by several flights of steps, with lovely views of the sea and airport which was great to watch the planes coming in and landing from our balcony - only about 1-5 a day - no night flights. Room had fridge, air con, plug for the sink, shower, lots of storage space with hangers too. Had to ask for glasses for the room and you need to take a HAIRDRYER with you - none in the room and after requesting 3 times plus giving room number - never saw one. Wifi connectivity was also a little erractic which was frustrating as we had two young adults back home we wanted to Skype. Buffet breakfast could be taken in or outdoor on verandah which was lovely. Occasionally struggled to keep up with demand and everything ran out - usually mini frankfurters, scrambed or fried egg and eggy bread, bread to carve, cold meat & cheese, boiled eggs, jams, fruit juice & water, flasked coffee, warm milk & tea. About a 20 minute walk in Pythagoriou on pavements which went quite quickly as went passed lovely olive groves and historic sites. I would definitely stay here again as excellent value and very relaxing - nothing was too much trouble - apart from providing a hairdryer.
"Ideal place to stay"

We have stayed in the Samos Sun a number of times and have always enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very well located and offers excellent facilities. The rooms are slightly larger than average for this area and the cost includes air con and a fridge. The pool is large and well maintained. Other benefits are the supermarket next door, car hire close by and the Evelin pool bar just across the road. The nearest beach is a 10 min walk and Pythagorio port about 20 mins. I would recommend this hotel as a good base for exploring Samos.
"Great hotel for an overnight stay"

My brother and I stayed at Samos Sun while on holiday in Samos. We just needed an overnight hotel before we moved onto our next destination and Samos Sun was conveniently located very close to the airport. Our room was clean, we had a small bar fridge which we could keep our water cold. The aircon however only runs when the doors are shut and didn’t really keep the room cool when it was on, so we had to have the doors open. Other than that everything was great, we had a lovely relaxing afternoon next to the pool and that evening we walked down to the harbour for dinner, which was about a 15 min walk. The breakfast consisted of ham, cheeses, bread, cereal and fresh fruit juice and was very pleasant to sit outside in the open air patio. The reception lady was very helpful and polite. Very good value for money!
"You call this "self-catering"?"

I visited this hotel for two weeks last summer with my dad and my sister. Firstly, it is quite clearly falsely advertising that this hotel is self-catered. The cooking utensils and facilities were not even the bare minimum, you aren't even provided with a wooden spoon or a strainer for cooking pasta. This led to many of our meals being very basic such as sandwiches and fried egg. The air-conditioning was very poor, it only made difference if you left it on for a few hours with all the windows and doors shut. The pool however was ok overall. Lots of sunbeds to relax and a bar (i did not try the food at the bar so i can't comment on that). The pool is also of decent quality however it definitely looks much bigger on the photos on the website. The website also said that it was a "5-10 minute walk" to the beach and the main town of Pythagoreio. I am only 17 years old and perfectly fit, it took over half an hour to walk. It may seem reasonable, however at 1 or 2 o'clock in the afternoon in 35 degree heat, it is almost unbearable. The beach and the town were absolutely stunning though, the port is lively and there are many nice restaurants there to eat at. So on a whole, the hotel is absolutely awful but the actual location (beach and the town) made it somewhat bearable for me and my family. I understand that it a fairly cheap hotel, and therefore should not expect absolute luxury however I feel that the website was very misleading in what facilities it claims to offer. There are definitely better hotels in the area for the same sort of price and the town is lovely so I do not want to put you off Samos... just the Samos Sun Hotel!

visited here a couple of months ago - fantastic time. The place was clean, welcoming and good value for money. Food was ample and drinks free flowing. Our room was clean all the time so I think the cleaner was first class so much so we left her a nice tip which she was pleased with. We were greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome which is so important. We had an issue with the air conditioning in our room but this was sorted out immediately by the guy in charge. Overall had a brilliant holiday and will definitely return and recommend as good basic accommodation.

Samos Sun has a fantastic pool wasn't salt water as brochure said as they had a pump problem. However big and deep pool with a basketball hoop to keep you occupied .Get up early for a sunbed about 08.45, Jannis at he bar brill a good laugh and if you get fed up with him playing Athens Party he will change it .The town is a good walk away about 25 minutes but it is lovely go to the end of the port walk around and you can have dinner on the beach.Go to Iliad bar for a friendly welcome and book the captains BBQ
Stayd in Samos Sun for 2 weeks and I enjoyd every minut of my stay. Wonderful staff, young and speaking good english,if there was a problem, nothing to worry about, they fixed it,cleaning 7 days a week with a little extra touch :) pool..quiet and a nice area with a big pool, there is also a snack bar where you can get a bite to eat if the hunger is getting to you, Fruit trees around the hotel, just pick what you desire, pears, plums, peaches, lime and apricots. Of course there are some downsides, but they are working constantly to fix it. Nice walk to Pythogoria (about 20 min ) with a whole lot of different restaurants, can recommend Tasernas tavern. Nice shops with everything you need and don't need :) Easy to rent bikes, cars or vespas to go around the island and find your own favorit beach. Would I go back??? Yes I would and I am,next year for 3 weeks,so much more to see in Samos.

We stayed for a week at "Samos Sun Hotel" from 6 to 12 of july! The hotel was very good and the service was very helpful! It has a lot of facilities to spend your time, as for example the pool, the gym and the playroom with billiards and tabletennis! The poolbar is very good and you can have plenty of cocktails! Even the hotel is a lit bit far from Pythagorio (15' on foot), we had very nice view to the sea! I would totally recommend this hotel for your summer vacation!
"Really awesome hotel!"
We stayed at re hotel for 2 weeks and everything was perfect!the location was a little bit far from the center but if you think about that it is only 15 min walk till there then it's ok! We had a great view to the sea and the hotel service was very good! We good use the gym and the billiard and table tennis tables for free and everyone was so friendly and helpful! There was a really friendly atmosphere in the hotel! Also an important thing was that our room was cleaned every second day! I would recommend you this hotel!

hi i spent 2 weeks in samos sun hotel july 2013. when we came it was clear that hotel was almost newly opened for the season, but staff helped as much as they could to help fix stuff. usally it takes a whole vacation to get things fixed. the hotel says 3 pools and yacuzzy but only main pool was open. rest was dry. main pool was more than enough tho. so service level is really good for a hotel with this standard i mean. i can recommend this hotel. the staff is young and really nice. the rooms got cleaned 7 days a week. some hotel noise from air con generator in 1st floor. you must pay for view, refridgerator and cooking possibilities (10 euro pr week pr item) i guess this is a hotel perfect for couples that want peace and quiet for sure. there was absolutely no children og noise in pool area, which many want. i liked it and think i will live there more if i come back. about 4 km to town centre. a 20 min walk will fix that and its easy straigth road. about 2 km to beach. 12 euro back and forth with taxi to pythagorio centre. 1 km from airport. 6 euro with taxi. so DONT buy expensive bus transfer via travel agency. i cant rewiew the breakfast. i didnt have one. quiet, good service, ok hotel for sure.
