This was a great stay. The room was huge and comfortable with a nice canopy bed, plenty of storage, and a nice TV. View was amazing as we could see the ocean from our 3rd floor room. The bathroom was very large with a giant tub that easily fit 2. The shower was lovely and a nice size, though the water pressure could of been a bit better. The location of this hotel was perfect. We came in at Edinburgh Waverly and several buses (5, 44, 113, 24X) all stop RIGHT in front of the hotel. There is an ASDA (walmart super store) with a wonderful breakfast cafe about 10 minutes walk. Porto Bella is about 15 minutes away which is a gorgeous little beach front area with an amazing cafe in the swim center that makes homemade food. The bus will get you into Edinburgh in about 30-45 minutes. Edinburgh castle, Arthur's seat, the Parliament, etc is all there. One of the best hotels I have stayed in at a great price. The Bistro, Bar and Restaurant downstairs were good but very expensive.

Would stay at the Scotsman again. It is attached to a public fitness center, so it was one of the best hotel gyms.

The Glasshouse was a real find. The ultra-modern, yet comfortable suites made us long for extra time there. . .nice seating area with desk, sleek bathroom with deep-soak tub plus great shower. Looked out onto roof area, patio tables. "Snug" is lounge area with couches around inside firepit, with an honor bar. Glasshouse is in hot part of town next to a cinema-entertainment complex, easy walk to everything. Service was excellent. Only trick was finding it when driving. It's a former church on a busy block but address is down a tiny alley leading to parking garage. Drove past in rush hour many times; knew we were close; I finally got out and walked and asked people while my husband sat parked.

What the hotel lacks by way of modern infrastructure, it makes up with character and location. We got a spacious bedroom overlooking the main street.... Carpet was warped in places and the bathroom didn't have full privacy (attic windows from across the street can look straight into the shower stall!). This is a lovely hotel close to all turist attractions. The room I stayed at was on 5 th floor and had the most wonderful view of the old town. The only draw back was that the hotel doesn't have elevators and therefore we had to take our rather heavy lugages up ourselves. Overal I enjoyed my stay there.

Hotel was clean and was within walking diatance of city centre, only down side was wall paper hanging off at places, marks on walls, toilet seat had a chip in it and the sink had a crack in it, but like I say it was clean. Beds were comfy. On the up side, I would stay again, just not in room 18

We booked into the hotel and immediately left to have an evening meal. During our meal the weather forecast was on the television, and was giving a Red weather warning for the whole of Wales. The forecast was so bad that everybody was being warned about being stranded on the motorways.We had no option but to return to the hotel, explain the problem […] and immediately leave the hotel to return home. Very convenient for Playhouse Theatre/Vue Cinema and for bus station. Lots of pubs and restaurants close by. Would recommend this hotel. Only drawback was our room was in the attic - lovely room with huge bathroom - but we found the stairs a little daunting!!

Bit disappointed with the general appearance of my room. Everything was clean allright, but everything looked bit shabby. Bit more into the maintenance of the room would have been nice as you could see the how batrhoom floor had been made of different sections under the floor surfacing and all the floors felt uneven and made noises when walking. My husband and I wanted a clean, reasonably priced room for one night near the Hard Rock Cafe in Edinburgh, this hotel was perfectly fine. Plenty of Bars and Restaurants within walking distance. Had a great stay at this hotel - it was easy to find and staff was very friendly. The rooms were nice (had a suite and a double room). The cooked breakfast was slightly disappointing, but otherwise I would recommend this hotel.

Hotellet ligger centralt med 15 min. gang til slottet. Tæt på shoppingcentre. Kun få parkeringspladser til rådighed i gården. Værelserne af varierende kvalitet - oplevede både et dystert værelse med lys via en skakt og til et med blændende udsigt over byen og Firth. Havde bedt om twin beds og blev derfor flyttet til det gode værelse efter første nat […] - god service. Fin morgenmad, men ikke så meget plads i forhold til antallet af gæster. Read more

Rooms are midsized and ok standard, but dining facilities are quite small with too few tables so we experienced queues for morning breakfast. That being said we got good service and everyone was very friendly.

Ett relativt bra hotell nära till centrum och kommunikationer, vi hade behövt en limtub med då möblerna krakelerade. Personalen helt ok och frukosten bra. Bra kondition behövs om man skall bo på fjärde våningen som vi gjorde.
