This hotel is brand new (or at least freshly renovated from the ground up). It is directly across the street from the beach access. Pria da Rocha is a typical tourist beach, with a lively strip at night. The hotel next door had dancing outdoors near their pool, but that was over at midnight. After that, despite the hustle and bustle below, the room […] was comfortably quiet. The rooms were clean and fresh, with a fridge, sink, microwave and small stove top (not that we used any of it). It is also a 'green' hotel. The hallways were dimly lit, but not to the point where we were uncomfortable walking in them. The hallways lights were on motion sensors that brightened added addiional lighting when they were in use, but still not what i would call 'bright'. It had more of an upscale feel as opposed to a 'beach hotel' feel. I only with the beach had facilities to wash the sand off of yourself before you headed back to the hotel, but that is not a criticism of the hotel itself. Read more

We stayed in a studio style hotel room (Land view) on the 6th floor. The room was very clean and spacious and it had a good size balcony. Everything was so modern, from the couches to rain fall shower in the bathroom, to the white glass walls behind the two flat screen TVs. The room has sound proof walls which was great, we can't hear you and you can't […] hear us... perfect for a couples retreat :) The only downfall was the bed. You figure a hotel like this can spring for a king size or even a queen size bed. It seems like hotels in Portugal love to take two twin size beds, squeeze them next to each other and call that a king size. Really? We asked the front desk woman if there was a way to get a room with a king size bed and she said there was none. She did however offer a solution... They basically took a giant bed spread and covered both beds up in order to look like a king size bed. haha.... hilarious actually. Really, that would be the only thing I would change. Having two TVs was nice, I just wish the volume would go higher... They placed a block on the volume that could not allow it to go past a certain level. You figure if it's a sound proof room volume of the TV would not be an issue. The moment I opened up the balcony door I had a hard time hearing the TV. The bathroom was great. There was no shower curtain, just a very cool long piece of glass which was supposed to keep in the the water. Unfortunately the glass screen still allowed a lot of water to flow out of the shower and onto the bathroom floor. The bathroom had a hair dryer which was good, but you had to keep holding the button in order for it to work. There is a parking garage if you want to use it. They will charge you a but more but it wasn't too bad. Although the parking garage looked like a scene from a horror movie, it did the job. We were delighted with our stay at thiis hotel. From our first arrival the staff could not have been more helpful. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The location is excellent, convenient for the beach, eating out and shopping. Breakfast was also very good with a plentiful self service buffet.

Great location and all the amenities you need for an enjoyable beach holiday. Pool is not resort style and doesn't get any afternoon sun but it is still enjoyable. We had a sea front view room and highly reccomend it! A side room is the lowest type of room you would want because otherwise your looking back towards Portimao which isn't desirable. Lovely hotel. located not far from the beach. we booked a room with sea view, at night we could hear people singing etc at 6am, but with door closed and air con, on it wasn` a problem. we had a fine big room, with fridge, cooker and microwave. breakfast was nice, plenty of everything. staff were friendly.couldn`t fault hotel at all.we used yellow fish […] company for transer, which is a geat service and would reccommend also.the Titanic restaurant is a must!!! the food is fab and also the fish and chip shop on the way to the Titanic has lovely homemade chips and fish is very tasty as well. We paid extra for a sea view room at the Hotel da Rocha. The hotel itself is superb. Very modern and well decorated. Staff are helpful and very friendly. Praia da Rocha itself has a brilliant beach. There is a mixture of slightly tacky gift shops, decent restaurants and dodgy pub / nightclubs. Restaurants I would recommend would be the Casalinho by […] the beach. go for the prawns to start (they call them shrimps)... to die for. It is also worth a trip to Portimao for dinner. When you get to the main square where the popular tourist restaurants are, carry on walking toward the rail bridge along the waters edge. after 5 mins you will come to a number of fish restaurants that were very tasty. Main downside... the noise. Potugese youths from Portimao tend to go to Praia on a night out and take great delight in making as much noise as possible as they pass the one 5 star and two 4 star hotels (ours being one). This happens every night. We have an eight year old and whilst it did not spoil our holiday, it could have done. In addition to this, the hotel opposite (Hotel Jupiter) had a resident "pub" singer playing every night. His set tended to start at 10.30pm and went on until midnight. It was the same set every night and if I ever hear "to all the girls I,ve loved before" one more time I might self harm :-) In summary great beach, great food and a superb hotel but unless you can guarantee a quiet room it is not ideal if you have a young family. best wishes Andrew Read more

Right on the strip close to all shops and restaurants.The staff were very friendly and helpful.Very nice breakfast catering for all.Nice size pool. The Bar/Café was always cold and empty, no where to sit down and have a nice cup of coffee or drink before retiring to bed. Overall I would recommend this Hotel and I would return again.

We arrived at the Hotel Da Rocha from Lagos to a warm welcome. We got to our room on the 7th floor which didn't disappoint and were pleasantly surprised and how airy the room was and of course the great view of the beach (I would recommend paying the bit extra for the beach front view, rather than the side view if available). The breakfast each morning […] was buffet style and had everything that you would need to set you up for the day. There were spa facilities in the Jupiter Hotel right accross the street but I can't comment as we didn't get round to using it. The ONLY gripe I would have is that the pool seemed to be shaded for most of the day - so not much use for sun worshippers but having said that we spent most of the time on the beach which is just accross the road down a bit of a hill. I thought as a new hotel that they have set a high standard and hope this is sustained as I plan to return next year. Read more

Nice hotel. Rooms clinical but spacious. Beds not very comfortable. I stayed on the first floor with a sea view. Not much privacy from balcony as I was overlooking a bus stop. Next time I would book a floor on a higher floor. Hotel very central and I would stay here again.

This Hotel is excellent in every respect. The location is right across the street from the very beautiful Rocha beach and is also very conveniently situated for shops and restaurants. We took advice from the reception staff regarding restaurants and we really enjoyed meals at the Titanic and Squash restaurants. There were six of us on a 4 day break. We were allocated 3 rooms together on the 4th floor overlooking the beach. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable and well furnished. The bathroom had a brilliant power shower! The hotel is situated just across the road from the walkway down to the beach and just outside the edge of "The strip" of bars, restaurants […] etc. so no noise at all at night. My only niggle is the pool - it is enclosed by the walls of the hotel and another other building (looks like private appartments) so no nice view.. ..and it's very small for the size of the hotel, but the beach is only 3 mins walk away so you can do all your sunbathing there. Ett mycket fräscht och trevligt hotell med väl tilltagna rum. Frukostbuffén är toppen med bra variation. Hotellet ligger precis vid stranden vilket är positivt då poolen hamnar i skugga på eftermiddagen vid fyra. Vi kan varm rekomendera det här hotellet om man vill ha en vistelse i Portimáo.

Vi var to voksne og to barn, og fra vi kjørte opp mot hotellet var vi fulle av forventning. Og alle forventninger ble innfridd, og litt til. Rommet var stort og luftig, høy standard. El hotel es excelente. La habitación con vistas laterales que nos dieron era sencillamente soberbia. Cama de dos metros, dos televisiones y habitación, baño y terraza gigantescos. Todo nuevo y con mucho gusto. Conexión a internet gratuita en la habitación Las vistas maravillosas. Tiene su pequeña cocinita y microondas para calentar un poco de leche […] o improvisar un desayuno, Está a pié de playa en la zona de copas así que lógicamente es ruidoso. Si eres tiquismiquis con los ruidos es mejor que cojas habitación con vistas al campo o que busques un hotel en una zona apartada. La tele no tiene cadenas en español pero tiene múltiples conexiones USB, HDMI... así que puedes llevarte tus películas. Lo más terrible es el precio del parking, 12 € diarios en temporada alta. Allí es complicadísimo aparcar así que no tienes más remedio que usarlo. Me parece abusivo. Read more

Ved valg av rom med utsikt får man også gatestøy. Det er i tillegg forskjell på romstørrelsen. Får man hjørnerom er rommet mindre, spesielt badet som er trangt. Hotellet har grei service, men smilet når ikke øynene. Et greit, sentralt hotell, men ikke noe mer.

Le Rocha Hôtel est a une décoration moderne trés réussie, son personnel est trés pro et serviable et sa situation face à la mer est idéale. Par contre l'environnement de l'hôtel est vraiment trés décevant: ville hyper bétonnée, tours immenses, impossible de se garer si vous n'avez pas fait une demande de place de parking, et un conseil, ne pas arriver […] la nuit tombée car la circulation est impossible. Je ne recommanderais pas cet station balnéaire et le séjour dans cet hôtel n'est agréable qu'à la condition de prendre le supplément "vue frontale sur mer" (sinon vue sur les tours). Le petit déjeuner buffet est trés bon, varié et copieux. Par contre, la cuisine dans la chambre ne sert à rien dans la mesure où elle n'est pas équipée (un mini bar, un verre, une sorte de petite casserole, 2 fourchettes et couteaux le tout pour 4 personnes!), pas de bouilloire ni de nécessaire à thé ou café comme cela nous a été proposé dans tous les autres hôtels de notre séjour.
