The hotel is within walking distance from the Wharf and main part of the town. They provided umbrella, shuttle when needed. There are no elevators so I had to carry my own luggage up two flights of stairs. Otherwise, the stay was very nice and the price was very good.

We booked this hotel while backpacking as it was actually cheaper than a double room in a hostel. The location was a ten minute walk from the seafront which was fine. The room was very big with a double bed and a single bed. There was a fridge and tea/coffee facilities in the room. We used the guest laundry which cost a few dollars each to wash and […] dry. There was a swimming pool and hot tub but we didn't use them. One small niggle was that the maid left the curtains open so anyone could see right in to the room. We found the hotel in a pleasing neighbourhood that had wonderful trees, flowers and birds. It was a 5 minute walk to the main shopping and wharf area. Great shopping, beaches and tours available. The price was very reasonable. The staff very friendly.

Don't get a ground floor unit as it sounds like a herd of elephants are above you and don't expect to watch tv as there are only 3 channels but on th eup side the price is right and it's close to town and it's okay for a night or 2

We had a wonderful time at the hotel. Spa pool was lovely, and it was a small walk to town which allowed us to burn off some calories before breakfast! Reception staff very helpful and were good examples of what customer service should be about. I can recommend this place.

The Hotel is a great place to stay in Paihia. Very close to the town and 3 minutes drive to the Waitangi Treaty Site. We had a pleasant stay in Tanoa, very clean comfortable room, sheets were spotless, newly renovated bathroom and shower was super. Hot Spa and pool(not heated) available too and well maintained. A handy hotel located only 2 blocks from the CBD. Hotel amenities were appropriate for the nightly rate. WiFi connection although offered had a fee associated with it and the connection was unreliable.

The hotel is in a quiet location within easy walking distance of Paihai town centre. There's plenty of parking space. More should be made of the bar, lounge and restaurant facilities as they are all very good but under-used.

We were disappointed in the charge for the use of the hotel's WIFI service - they wanted to charge us $6 for 50MB or 1hr usage, the same as we pay for a month's service at our own provider! We found it unrealistic to say the least.

Mattress of the cheapest quality and lack of bedding makes sleeping quite difficult. No airconditioning, but a ceiling fan which was quite noisy. Very basic furnishings. Breakfast very poor and not cheap. We requested a full english and were confronted with emply containers over the bain maries. We were told that if we wanted full English, they would […] be prepared to cook us something. We couldn't wait. We paid hansomely for what resulted in a choice of three cereals, yoghurt, tinned peaches and pears and toast. We weren't the only people to complain. The only redeeming feature is that my travelling companion requested a ground floor apartment as we were senior citizens and had heavy luggage and had travelled some time. This meant that we had a decent size bathroom. I dread to think what the accommodation would have been otherwise. Read more

Great position for picking up ECOCRUZ. Allowed us to leave car for 3 days while on sailing cruise. Staff very helpful, they even lent us jumper leads to start a friend's car.

we found the hotel staff very helpful and the rooms and room service very good .We did not use the dineing room as we were always out at meal times so cannot coment .The whole complex was spotless no complaints whatsoever.Hotel was only a few minutes walk from main street nice and quiet at night.

The Hotel Paihia is in a convenient location, walking distance from the main road shopping and restaurants and buses happily collect you from the hotel for tours. I only had one complaint and that was the hotel room cleanliness. There were spiders in my bathroom and when cleaning serviced my room, they had obviously run my dirty coffee cup and spoon […] briefly under the tap and left the dirty cup and spoon back on my table "as if" they had been cleaned.
