"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

Let the West Coast have Hollywood; Broadway’s lights are just as bright, and many screen actors come to the Great White Way to gain acting credibility. Area attractions include Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Resplendent St. Patrick’s Cathedral takes up a block at Fifth and 50th. "Great customer care!"
Very attentive hotel staff. Great location just across from NY Public Library, on Fifth Avenue. Large window and high ceiling give the feel of roominess. The bathing area and toilet are separate. Only complaint is the responsiveness of the TV to the remote. There is an annoying lag. Great job Hyatt on this new product!
"My favorite hotel in NYC!"
I travel to New York on business and pleasure 2-5 times a year, annd it's always been a struggle to find a great hotel. But my search has now come to an end. Andaz 5th avenue was like a dream from the moment I walked in. They approach you immediately, bring you wine, and check you in while you sit in the modern but cozy lounge. No standing at a counter, […] no cold and systematic check-in process. The rooms are a good size for New York standards, and the amenities are fabulous. The large bathroom and rain shower and foot bath is a treat. Brunch at The Shop was reasonable and delicious. From now on, Andaz 5th Ave will be my hotel of choice in New York! Read more

"Loved this Hotel"
I am a native New Yorker who now lives in the suburbs. My girlfriend and I were looking to spend a weekend in the city. Most hotels in NYC have small rooms, cramped elevators. Many hotels are just converted over past apartment buildings. And they feel that way- with narrow corridors and old gas-steam radiators. But the Andaz was spectacular! Beautiful […] restaurant (with great food), nice big corridors and a fantastic room. The room was comfortable, very spacious and extremely clean. The bedding was nice, the bathroom was clean and cool and the location was right on 5th Avenue across from the NY Public Library. What more could anyone ask for? I would definitely go back again and I am recommending it to my friends. Read more
"Andaz 5th Avenue tops my list."
My husband and I have stayed at many NY hotels and we have put the Andaz 5th Avenue as our favorite. It is very unique, the room was very comfortable and the restaurant was terrific. We recommend you try it.

Excellent service, location, and facilities. A uniquely enjoyable experience!
"ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I travel 4-5 times a month for business and this hotel has provided me with one of the BEST experiences I have ever had. From the minute you walk in the door to the minute you depart, they are attentive to EVERY detail. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL and will stay there every time I'm in NYC!!!!!!!!!!!
The whole atmosphere at Andaz is different from usual. From the lobby to the room. Rooms were excellent, modern and comfortable. The hotel restaurant did'nt have an extensive menu, but the food food was delicious with courteous service and very reasonable prices. Location is great with everything in uptown manhattan closeby. Would love to stay there […] again. Read more

"Andaz 5th Ave..."
Nice hotel, nice room,VERY expensive, great staff in a 98% of them. Area location is good,1 block from Bryant Park. The worst thing of the Hotel is the Restaurant:poor service, slow slow slow...,and the food not god either. However, in general the experience at Andaz was great and i would come back again.
"Great NYC Experince!!"
My husband and I loved this hotel. As soon as you walk into the lobby you are greeted by your own personel concierge. She took us to our room showed us how to use the lighting systen,tv,etc and made reservations for us as well as what to see and do for the weekend! The Cellar Bar was fun and had great cocktails!
"Great value for your money"
We were only in NYC for one day, but wow, did we find a gem. It was 104 outside, and the minute we walked in the lobby, a hostess offered us a cold bottle of water while we sat and waited to be checked in. This hotel staff was fabulous!! Restaurant recommendation and reservation were on the money. When we got back, the hostess asked where we went and […] how we liked it. When we gave it a ten rating, she offered us a glass of wine while we told her of our day. She took notes so she could recommend it later. The hotel is very modern, technical and beautiful. Free cold drinks in mini-bar were very welcome. Coffee from lobby was delicious. Complimentary wine bar in the afternoon was a great prelude to dinner. Despite the heat, we walked to Carnegie Deli for lunch. On a normal day, we could have walked to MOMA, Moa, Central Park, Bloomies, Macy's, Empire State and Rockefeller Plaza. Great location. We will stay again in October. A real pleasure. We strongly recommend the Andaz for great value for the money. The only complaint is the chair at the desk. It is very large and leather. We kept sliding out of it. But that gave us a good laugh. Read more
"Greatly disappointed"
For the room prices at this hotel, your expectations increase greatly; with that said, I was exceptionally disappointed. From the start, there is nowhere to park near hotel, so you must valet. After receiving the valet ticket, it is only then that you realize that the valet is $60 per night! Our room was not ready upon check-in and so we had to wait […] only to get a smaller room than what we booked. The room had many frills but lacks on the core basics. Note to the ladies: The bathroom mirrors are as aesthetically pleasing but impossible to see to do your makeup even my husband had a hard time seeing just to shave. Needless to say, for the price vs the experience I will not be back. Much better hotels in NYC for half the cost! I am going back to the Alex. Read more
"Excellent location and service"
Great location next to Bryant Park, directly across from the NY Public Library. Good value, great service, would definitely stay there again.
The perfect hotel to stay in NYC!
"Stay at the Andaz"
The service was incomparable, the hotel itself was sleek and new. If you like contemporary style you'll fall in love with this place. The location, too, was fabulous; across the street from the NY library and close to everything.
What a great find for us through hotels.com. The hotel was in a good location if you want to be in the Times Square area. Our hostess, Amanda, made our stay extra special when she found out it was my daughters birthday. Will definitely come back to this hotel!
"My new favorite hotel in NYC"
Andaz is a great new hotel with extraordinary service. It has incredible extras, like free non-alcoholic beverages and snacks in your room, 24/7 coffee, tea, bubbly water and iced tea in the lobby, and free wine in the afternoon. All that PLUS free wireless Internet? Inconceivable! After a seamless checkin, you're shown to your room by the same person […] who checked you in. After showing you all the very cool features of your room, such as all touch pad controls, you are handed a card with the name of the person who just helped you, and ends up being your personal concierge. You are invited to call or text any time during your stay if you need assistance. I availed myself that service...I'd asked for a recommendation for a place to get a bite to eat and watch the Stanley Cup playoffs. The initial place recommended was too loud, so I texted my personal concierge for more recommendations which might be quieter. I got a reply in less than 5 minutes, and we went to one of them, which was perfect for what we wanted. The room itself was spacious by any standards, and by NYC standards, the space was positively cavernous. The bed is Euro style, with the comforter only (so you can cocoon yourself). and with big huge down pillows. The bathroom (really the entire hotel) is ultra modern, with double sinks and thirsty marble throughout. The shower has three different modes- rain shower, regular shower and footpath with a bench. You can have one or all three modes for your shower. I have only a few suggestions, not complaints. First, Andaz needs to indicate that the entrance is actually on 41st, so you can let the taxi driver know to drop you off on 41st Street rather than on 5th Avenue. Second, the cable offering could be better, to include channels like Versus. Not that you'll be in your room that much in the City that never sleeps, but still... This is a great hotel, and would be appropriate for business or leisure. I'm anxious to stay at another Andaz, and I will most certai Read more
The location of Andaz on 5th was great - is very accessible to everything in Times Square. The room we stayed in was very cozy; really loved the contemporary design. Service, though, was not so great. The system of checking in guests was not very efficient. A number of guests were flocking the lobby area because the rooms were not yet ready. Some guests […] were offered drinks, others were not. The idea of escorting guests to their rooms is not a great idea if other guests are left in the lobby waiting for someone to hand their hotel room keys. Read more
"The Andaz on 5th Ave"
A beautiful hotel with a friendly and accommodating staff whose cheerful personalities greet you each and every time you pass through the lobby makes it a truly great experience. I look forward to many more stays there.
"Unbelieveable Hotel experience"
A contemporary masterpiece !!! Close walk or 6 dollars cab ride to chelsea or Theaters!! The room is breathtaking! Staff was excellent!! Everything was perfect!!!
"best of the best"
Great hotel. This is my absolute favorite hotels.
"Andaz 5th Avenue - NYC"
Great hotel in great midtown location. Staff is very attentive. Room & bath are very modern in design but warm, not cold like most modern design hotels. The room I had did not have a sitting area, only a bed area & desk area so if you are entertaining in your room, you may want to ask if they have a room with a sitting area.
"Pleased"
Very Modern Hotel - We really liked the contemporary style. We walked the whole time we were in the city and the hotel was close enough not to be irritating, but just far enough that it was a "little" less pricey. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the room, but it was super nice and confortable. The only thing I didn’t like was the pillows. They are […] Goose Down pillows and in my opinion a goose down pillow is like sleeping on “nothing” – My head sinks straight through the down to the mattress. However, I realize a lot of people like down…I just don’t! Very Friendly staff and a great restaurant . Read more
"This Hotel is at the center of everything."
I had reservation at a major hotel for the weekend and the first night was so bad that I sought another place for the remaining two nights. The staff reception was absolutely the best. There is NO LINE when you check in. you are greeted with a couch and a drink while the staff does their thing. Fast forward to the room: complimentary bar, shower with […] a bench and a foot soaker; a hand held shower and a rain shower, double sink. VERY confortable bed, WIFI anywhere in the room or building. Electronic Lighting system -- The very best. Read more

"Andaz 5th Ave - outstanding service"
My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and I have to say that I've never experienced better, more caring and personal service at any hotel. Excellent staff... in the lobby to receive you and to check you out, for room service and turndown service - all top notch. The one criticism I have is the odd room layout. We were in a king loft room […] and the bathroom - beautiful and exceptionally roomy, btw - ran the length of the bedroom area with three narrow doors that opened up beside the bed. If you're alone in the room, it's not a problem. But if you're sharing, there's virtually no bathroom privacy. Yes, the 3 little doors swing closed (or almost closed) but they don't latch so they stay a little open, and there is no exhaust fan. We were on the 3rd floor overlooking 41st so it was quiet enough but certainly no view. Lastly, we ordered room service (breakfast) and the food was pricey but wonderful. Read more
"Family of 4 from UK - Excellent"
We booked off the reviews posted, and were not at all disappointed. The service was impeccable, for three nights and our, two rooms were very spacious, especially compared to other 5* NY hotels we have stayed at. The hotel has a refreshing modern feel and look, and the approach that the person who checks you , also sees your bags to your room, then […] becomes your main point of contact and is then like your personnel concierge is great. Available on e-mail so if you want some advice when out and about. My wife became ill during our stay, and the hotel could not do enough. They arranged for the house doctor to call me within minutes in the early hours, they checked up and offered to arrange for green teas, soup complementary as part of the service. They even arranged for a hotel car to take us to the doctor's office for a consultation, complementary. The small touches of flowers for my wife, signed card by the team and complementary kettle and green tea really showed a side a natural supportive side. We cannot thank Joy who looked after us and the whole team enough. We will be returning when my wife is fit, and the only place we will book is the Andaz, NY. If you like to a genuine personnel service with attention to detail , and a real home from home feeling then this is the hotel to book. A message to the leadership team of the hotel. Do not change a thing, customer service, attentiveness across all the front of house team was first rate, helpful, responsive ,and no attitude at any time. WELL DONE Read more

"Hotel Andaz 5th Avenue - Fantastic"
3 night stay (and my fifth visit to New York) Hotel was perfect. Location/Room/Facilities/Staff/Service - everything was spot on. Seriously - you cannot ask for a better location - slap bang in the middle of all Midtown attractions. My room on the 14th floor (king suite) was beautiful - very very spacious/clean and stylish..and that view..wow! The staff […] were very friendly and attentative..not affected or aloof like other trendy hotels. Facilities were great..The Bar Downstairs has a great clubby like vibe (strong drinks and good tapas like food) The Shop was a great place for breakfast - I intended to go for breakfast each morning to other places - but ended up having breakfast all 3 mornings it was so good...and having breakfast with the public library as your view..great! I was offered a late check out which was really accomodating and my bags were looked after all day which was useful to make full advantage of a late flight and enjoy the city. I cannot recommend this hotel enough - I would not consider staying anywhere else next time in New York. Read more
"Great midtown location"
The Andaz is a very nice modern trendy hotel in a great location. Close to grand central station, Rockefeller, empire state and directly across the street from the beautiful library building. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and the mini kitchenette in our suite, including Nespresso coffee maker was handy. Would stay there again.
"Andaz 5th Avenue Hotel"
My husband and I stayed in this hotel in December for 5 nights and we were very happy we chose this hotel. The location was perfect for shopping, restaurants and approx. 5 min walk to Times Square. The atmosphere in the hotel was very relaxed and welcoming. The staff were very friendly with a welcome refreshment when we arrived (A very wet day) and […] answered any questions we had and gave us discount vouchers for shopping. The room was lovely. Very spacious and modern with a lot of glass which was very different from most hotels. The bathroom was huge and the products were lovely. There was a large tv and most unusual all the non-alcoholic beverages and snacks were free. I would recommend this hotel. Read more
"Modern, small and stylish"
Stayed in Andaz 4 nights in November during the marathon weekend (andaz suite room). As anticipated I felt the experience quite refreshing for a 4* hotel. Unlike other hotels each staff is useful and can assist you (they can all proceed with check-in / out / recommendations...) rooms felt very cosy despite being modern (white paint and wooden floor […] much better than old new york carpets!). Appliances of very good quality as well. Free soft drinks and snacks are welcomed as well. In room service was good and well presented. Also staff is attentive and professional despite generally young. What is missing: maybe a concierge could still prove useful for some more important recommendations on fine restaurants (got quite disappointed by the place recommended on my first night there). Then the shower does not have any door which is pretty weird and bring some cold air inside. Toilets dont have door either. Also there are no spotlights in the entrance corridor where the full body mirror is so it gets quite dark and is not the most convenient after all. This said I would recommend the place, location is very convenient and central, TV, beds and general appliances quality is very good. We had a terrific stay. Read more
"Andaz 5th Ave"
Very nice hotel in midtown just across the street from the public library and a very short walk from Broadway and Times Square. Not cheep, but still very good value for the money and the staff was very nice and helpful. Would love to stay at the hotel again.
"very pleasent stay"
very nice hotel, wonderful staff, right in the middle of 5th ave. (at 41th street) I will come back !
"Andaz 5th Avenue NYC : perfect"
Very nice hotel, perfect service, we stayed 6 nigths in this very nice place, nice restaurant, underground bar one of the best of NYC !
"Andaz is just great!"
We stayed in a studio with a small kitchenette. This was very convenient for us, a family of 2 adults and 2 teens. The sofabed was big enough for the teens. Location on 5th Avenue is the very best.
"Andaz 5th Ave"
The hotel was great and we would definitely stay there again. Clean, the staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were well designed.
"Andaz 5th Avenue, New York - we loved it!"
We wanted a great hotel and we weren't disappointed! The Andaz 5th Avenue was in a great location - across the road from New York Public Library, a short walk to Grand Central Station, the Empire State building and the Rockefeller Centre and within easy walking distance of central park. The room was a decent size, very clean, well equipped, nicely decorated […] and the bathroom was beautiful. The free soft drinks and snacks were a great touch and while we were there you could get free wine in the lobby from 6 to 9pm - brilliant! What really made it stand out was the staff. They were all very helpful, friendly and courteous, the concierge made a great restaurant recommendation and everyone made you feel welcome. It's not the ceapest hotel out there but you get a lot for your money and it's well worth it if you're treating yourself. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, in fact we wouldn't bother looking for a different hotel - I think we might become regular customers! Read more
