Hotel Amar - Agra area

I arrived after a delayed train from Delhi - while the taxi was arranged by the hotel (500) I was not pleased that the contact information for the taxi was changed but I was not told and then the driver LAUGHED at me because it was Friday and the Taj was closed - the only reason icame to Agra. Fine. No water in my room (drinking jug or fridge) when […] FINALLY brought they wanted 60 even though the menu said 50. Add to that the room boy who came in, I opened the door, (just after I took a shower) to bring the water - and REMOVED my towel to wrap me in a new fluffy towel, saying "it's ok - you are like my grandmother" I am a 50 year old woman - this was WAY inappropriate! i was stunned. The coffee setup was missing, the internet never worked (you go down and buy a password for 60 -I think might have been 50- for 30 mins. The reception desk staff constantly stops listening (on the phone or in person ) and turns their attention to whomever walks up next. Price - ok. hassle un-happiness WAY not ok. Read more

Rooms were not clean, towels were dirty,used shampoo(half filled).room service comes only after 2-3 calls. :(

The Hotel is good bet for money paid but leaves a bit to desire. The restaurant is good and the dishes excellent. The rooms are fairly big and well kept. The only thing that goes against the hotel is its House keeping. The towels were very old and extensively used, and the linen was poor quality. The hotel was so old and the room was not clean that we could not enjoy a minute of our stay. There were bugs, especially cockroaches, everywhere in the room; we could not sleep because of them a whole night. More, the hotel was smeling of pesticides all the time!! All our clothing was smelling Pesticides as well. The windows were not opening!! Another […] problem was around 4 am in the morning our room doot was opened by somebody else. We got up with the noise of the door and shouted to the person on the door! There was no answer. Because of the shock and the horror we could not sleep again. We stayed only 12h to see tajmahal, so we managed it. I would not have stayed an other night in this hotel. we were put basement room, that had moist. paint was bubbling from walls, smelled moist and room was not very clean either. not worth the money!

20 minutes from Agra cant station by Rikisha,100R.There are cafe and restaurant near by but inside this hotel there is nice restaurant, you should try it !! Clearn and friendly, very nice hotel!!

Great place to stay in Agra. The pool was good fun (cold but it had a slide :-). Great quality hotel for Agra. Close enough to the Taj and the Fort. Great service.

My girlfriend and I booked this hotel for two nights last week so we could see the Taj Mahal (less than 10 minute drive) and Agra Fort (less than 10 minute drive). We arrived late Tuesday evening from the train and the hotel arranged taxi was waiting, although he added on an extra 100 rupees for being a night driver and then when we agreed, added another […] 100 rupees for being a night driver as we got out - this was to be a recurring theme. The hotel is an excellent location for Taj & Agra Fort, and the food served there is the best we had in two weeks travelling India (Goa, Agra & Delhi). The service was excellent throughout, even when I refused the hotel taxi driver as he was constantly agreeing a price and then adding another 100-200 rupees as we went to pay, the hotel manager came to see me to apologise and was one of the nicest people I met in India. We got one of the better rooms available and it was excellent, probably even better than the pictures on the website. Spacious, Sky TV with over 100 channels, not much of a view but very clean and modern. I would definately recommend this hotel for business trips in Agra or for visiting the Taj Mahal / Agra Fort and I would certainly recommend the food there! Read more

perfectably serviceable hotel, with large well equiped rooms for the price, situated on a main road in Agra, 5 mins in an auto from The Taj Only issue was getting someone to get our bags which had been stored, which took about 10 mins
