Nice hotel with ample parking place. The room was clean and comfortable. The only thing negative was "the shower head" in that room needed to be replaced - just splashing water all over the bathroom.

We were staying last time in this hotel called Motel ideal about 15 - 17 years ago. At that time hotel was new, clean and looks awesome. I am afraid, there were absolutely NO effort to keep hotel as beautiful for the last 15 years. It scream OLD now.

Our room colors felt like we wre in a hospital. The hotel must have had its days of glory back in the 80s maybe, but everything is just so outdated now... I was pleased with the hotel overall. However, when booking this hotel I was under the impression that it was in the heart of downtown montreal, not at all the case. I ended up getting lost for an hour trying to find it because of the confusion. I had never before been to Montreal, so had no prior knowledge of the location, but the description online […] stated that it was only minutes away from McGill, which I knew was in downtown. I am mostly disappointed in the breakfast . I feel that it is misleading regarding breakfast when " Breakfast Buffet" consists of Orange Juice, Apple Juice, Cranberry Juice, 1 pot of coffee, and packaged fruit cups. Also rooms are overpriced for the quality of the room.

Awful experience. I had to wait over an hour for my room when I got there, though I already had a booking with Expedia. The desk clerk--who also claimed to be the manager (hard to believe)--kept telling me "two more minutes" til I'd get the room but I had to wait much longer every time and so felt he was either lying or totally confused. During the […] wait, another guest became irate with him for a similar situation, creating an unwelcome and tense lobby environment. When I finally made it to the room it felt like a prison as it was dark and only had a small corner window, despite being on the third floor. After all this, the hotel was going to charge me if I checked out an extra hour late, which they could've easily waved as compensation for the hour they took from me! Also, you're constantly having to deal with the front desk staff through a glass, bullet-proof-type screen, which makes you feel more like a liability than a guest. Go elsewhere if you're going to Montreal! The hotel doesn't at all reflect the beautiful city. Read more

We arrived at the hotel to find the check-in counter enclosed by a glass wall that did not slide open, and it was difficult to hear the clerk speek, as well as having to push items through a tiny hole at the bottom of the glass. It gave us a feeling of distance or we were in a bad area. We got into our room and the a/c was off with room temp at nearly […] 30 degrees celcius. The hot water taps (sink and shower) were both broken and therefore took a lot of force to get them to turn on and off. Our 12 year old son turned the T.V. on, and to our astonishment the channel that appeared was a full blown out pornographic station that was XXX rated (all body parts of both sexes were in full view). We mentioned this to the clerk when we left and he only shrugged and laughed at this. We will not stay or recommend this hotel to anyone. Read more

Le Prestige fit our bill perfectly - both in terms of value and location. If you're expecting something close to downtown, this hotel may not suite your needs. However the room was clean and spacious although somewhat dated in appearance. The staff was also friendly and efficient. The lobby breakfast was a nice and appreciated touch.

Hotel Le Prestige's vibe was like the Titanic, on the surface it looked nice and even the lobby music had you swept up in your internal fantasy, but deep down inside it didn't always succeed. We had a problem with our room keys that would notoriously become deactivated at the most inconvenient times. Other than that, the service was great, as was the […] quality of the room itself. It was very spacious and the maids were kind and considerate. We chose this hotel based solely on the fact that it was the cheapest one for our last minute booking for the Osheaga festival. All hotels downtown jacked their price up to ridiculous levels and we booked the place, going in with the lowest expectations. What we discovered was that it was far better than expected but also much further from the downtown scene than we would have liked. Its a 15 minute bus ride from the last stop on the green subway line (Honores Beaugrande) or a $40 cab ride from the downtown core. Luckily the suburbs of Montreal, specifically in the northern region are nice and comfortable and not ghetto like say, Toronto's. Surrounding the hotel there are places to get breakfast, fast food, cigarettes and alcohol. Everything a tourist needs. Once supplies are collected you head out for the day and you do not return to the end so don't forget everything you will need. If convenience of location is not an issue I would certainly reccommend this hotel to visitors of Montreal on a budget. Read more

Forget the nightly rate tripling for the Montreal F1 weekend - all hotels did that. Some imposed three night minimum stays. No, that wasnt the issue with Le Prestige. The room was not cleaned before we checked in at around 7pm. The TV set was left on, the bed unmade, and garbage strewn everywhere. The hotel staff was completely unapologetic and refused […] to simply move us to another room, and insisted that we return to the lobby and wait until the room was cleaned. The room was cleaned fairly quickly - which made me question the thoroughness. Thereafter the electronic key did not work, and I had to return to the front desk to have it reprogrammed. Again, the front desk staff was completely unapologetic. The front desk staff are fully enclosed behind thick, ceiling-high glass, similar to the old-style bank teller areas. This does not present a warm, safe feeling at all. I certainly wont make the mistake of staying there again!! Read more

Il n'y a bien que le nom de prestigieux dans cet hôtel. La chambre sentait le détergent citronné. Il était impossible d'ouvrir les fenêtres car les poignées avaient été enlevées. Le personnel s'est chargé de nous trouver une poignée mais nous attendons toujours. La climatisation était super bruyante. Deux serviettes de toilette dans la salle de bain […] pour quatre. Une piscine froide. Il faut réclamer les serviettes à l'accueil pour la piscine et ils en donnent deux pour trois personnes et il est interdit de les remonter dans les chambres donc on rentre frigorifiés. Le petit déjeuner : une calamité : des muffins sous vide et des compotes industrielles en pot. Même pas une tranche de pain, même pas une chaise pour s'assoir de toute façon le petit déjeuner se passe dans le hall d'accueil. Sinon les environs sont vraiment moches avec l'entreprise LAFARGE et un complexe chimique. Pour l'accès au jardin botanique, il faut compter environ 15 kilomètres et une bonne demi-heure avec tous les feux rouges rencontrés. Nous n'y retournerons pour rien au monde. Tout est mesquin. Personnel très gentil. Par contre chambre qui sent la cigarette énormément et plein de brûlures sur les meubles. Et l'air climatiser ne fonctionnait pas bien. Le matelas faisait un creux au milieu et très peu confortable. En somme, une nuit à oublier.

Het is een mooi hotel en met openbaar vervoer gemakkelijke verbinding naar het centrum van Montreal. Enig minpunt is het ontbreken van en ontbijtzaal. 's Morgens gaat er een kast open in de centrale hal, er worden wat fabrieksmuffins, bakjes fruit en kannen koffie neergezet en dan moet je n de hal je ontbijt gebruiken. Uiterst karig.
