i picked this hotel because of the good reviews and I have to say that it lived up to them. The food was decent and the room was great and the staff was very very nice!!! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Overall, it's a fairly nice hotel in a good location. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. My family (wife and two teenagers) were spending two nights in Nottingham for a meeting I had there, before going to London and Paris for a vacation. When we arrived, we found out that our rooms were not adjoining or side by side, even though we had clearly requested them to be, when we made our reservation a month before. They were finally able to move both to the same floor, but this should never have been an issue, and my wife was not pleased. They then asked how I would like to pay for the stay, even though we had prepaid through Hotels.com. Other than taking the room reservation notice from Hotels.com, they clearly do not read the customer requests or update the fact that the rooms are paid for, in their system. After a long flight, the last thing you're looking for is an issue at the hotel. They need to get their act together.

Great hotel, but kept asking for lamp light bulb to be changed the whole week and never done. Hard to do work in dark

"The Old Vicarage, the place to stay in Southwell"
The Old Vicarage boutique hotel is a very comfrotable place to stay. The staff are pleasant and helpfull and the rooms are well appointed with a modern 'boutique' design. The only criticism about the room is the lack of a stnad up shower - big scroll top baths in the center of a bathroom look very nice but if you trying having a shower in them you flood […] the bathroom! The restaurant (closed on Monday) served very good quality food, well cooked and tasty.
