Very nice room for the price we paid. Room was spacious and kitchennette is a plus! Close to all major places that we wanted to go: 5th avenue, Juarez avenue, Walmart, ADO station, colectivo station, good restaurants. Had a great time!

We spent 6 nights in this hotel in their royal club section. Overall it was a positive experience. The hotel personel was friendly and helpful. On the other hand, the management of the hotel should pay more attention for small details. For example, addition of Wi-Fi serveice would be a nice touch.

Located in Playa del Carmen (Maroma), The Grand Mayan Riviera Maya Resort is close to Playa Paraiso. Additional regional attractions include Crococun Zoo.
Resort Features.
The Grand Mayan Riviera Maya Resort has a full-service spa, a golf course, and a health club. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas (surcharges apply). Business amenities at this 4-star property include a business center and a meeting/conference room. This spa resort offers a restaurant, a coffee shop/café, and a poolside bar. The staff can arrange concierge services, wedding services, and business services. Additional amenities include an outdoor pool, a children's club, and spa services. I read quite a few reviews on the Grand Mayan Resort and most were good and that is what I found staying here. This resort is huge and kind of confusing. There a few "resorts" on this resort, Mayan, The Grand Mayan, and The Grand Mayan- The Jungle. I stayed at the Grand Mayan- The Jungle which were 1 or 2 bedroom suites. The room was awesome! We had […] a full kitchen with a fridge, stovetop (no oven), microwave,blender,coffeemaker..this also includes pots/pans,glassess, and utensils. The patio was large and had a jump pool that was too cold to go into. What I could tell by the difference of these areas from what I saw and talked with other guests is that the Mayan rooms were not as nice and some did not have a microwave or fridge. Also there is a pool just for the Grand Mayan and Grand Luxxe (not still sure what Luxxe(not still sure what Luxxe guests mean) which is private, quite, and beautiful. If you can get to the area Grand Mayan (not jungle) Buildings 1-8 it is closer to the pools and lobby. There are shuttles (golfcarts) that come every 15mins to each building to take you to the lobby or pool. Wished they can more often because there were alot of peoplen waiting often for a shuttle. We did walk one day and it took about 10mins. But I know if you stay in the Mayan part those walks were much longer. The beach was sandy but the walk into the ocean was too rocky to go in the water and it was not that nice to look at. BUT the pools are ridiculous...! They were warm and refreshing, clean, and huge. The pool bars were great to swim up too and waiters were good. There is 2 for 1 (which makes the drink double in size) drinks from 11-1 which are a good deal and the drinks were good quality.
