The Norwood - Guest house - Torquay

Pleasant stay. Warm and welcoming owners. In-room facilities were good. We were able to park in the rear. A delicious breakfast with a variety of choice was a bonus. Will definitely recommend and stay again.

We're used to staying in hotels as we're not too keen on being one of a few guests - we prefer the anonymity of a larger hotel. Having said that it was a very pleasant stay. We were on the top floor and didn't have much of a view but at the price we paid for all 3 of us with breakfast thrown in, you really can't grumble. Beds nice and comfy, tea and […] coffee facilities, nice shower (did drain rather slow) and a working TV - what more could you want. Breakfast is a must the full English is superb and the land lady (didn't catch her name) couldn't be more helpful. She would ensure that you ate your own body weight in toast every morning. Not too far from the front - walkable and probably quite pleasant in the Summer. Would stay here again - if just for the breakfast! Read more

we stayed at this hotel for a short break to Torquay. it has a very good location for visiting the city and marina. the welcome was so warm and helpful. we arrived late to the coach station and was told that is no problem to check in late in the evening. it was nothing too much trouble. we could check out later when we left, because no one was arriving […] to the room and rain was pouring down outside. in this hotel you dont feel like a stranger, but someone who is visiting the owners as a friend. you can see they do enjoy to run the business from their heart and have always a smile on the face and interact with the guests. room was clean and well looked after. the breakfast was excellent, better then in some 5 stars hotels. fresh fruit, fresh juice, lots of cerial selection, always offered for more toast. trully enjoyed our stay and will be recomending to our friends. thank you Read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Norwood - despite the weather. The staff were warm and friendly and seemed genuinely concerned that everything was as we wanted it. Great service, lovely pot of tea on arrival. Very comfortable rooms, hot shower. The breakfast was wonderful, fresh fruit, cereals, traditional was cooked very well. Will be back on next visit to Torquay. Not a fault for some but the 13.5 tog quilt's were to hot for us. I strongly recommend this guest house.

Very Friendly staff , Good Food, Clean Rooms what more do you want from a B&B? The negatives. Only three parking bays at the back of the B&B with no rear enterance. There is parking on the near by streets juust need to watch the restrictions. Not good for you if you can't do hills. Very nice location, within walking distance from the harbour. Staff (or owners?) were all lovely, friendly and helpful, specially the lady at breakfast, nothing was soo much effort for her! The room had a quite tacky decoration but it was rather funny in the end, and the confort and cleaniness of the room were very good.
