Great clean hotel with great staff, about a fifteen minute walk from downtown that turned into thirty because you walk through some weird side streets but overall I'd stay again

Overall the experience was wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was small, but clean and cozy with all the necessary items. Breakfast was very good and overall had a good experience. Within walking distance to a lot of sights and tours were readily available. Thanks for making our stay in Belfast great!

By US standards, this is at best a 2 star hotel. Old hotel in lousy neighborhood. Small rooms and bathrooms; smelled musty. Breakfast was traditional Irish. Tasted fair. Would not stay there again.

The hotel was well located with off street parking. It was easy to find with the Garman gps with had with us. The staff was excellent and helped us with any question. The breakfast was also excellent with a number of choices. We have stayed in many oversea hotel this was excellent with a very good price.

What a great place! Increadibly helpful staff that went above and beyond to make sure my stay was outstanding. Special tip of the hat to the front desk crew who helped me arrange a bus trip and gave me an outstanding recommendation on places to eat.

What a great hotel! My room was comfortable and well-fitted. Superb bathroom and linens. The staff was warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Location was convenient for both a ten minute walk to Queens University, and ten minute walk to center of town. Attractive dining room where a terrific breakfast was served. 100% for everything, room, hotel, reception staff, staff in the breakfast room. Did not see the cleaners they just did a perfect job room was spotless. Shower was great bath just the right size toiletries lovely. This is the second time we have stayed at Tara Lodge following a long haul flight and it has proven to be great accomodation for us in Belfast. The staff are exceptionally helpful and nothing is too much bother. The hotel is very comfortable and has a great breakfast.

Excellent! Really helpful reception staff with full knowledge of local area and walking routes. Location also within a few minutes walk of rail station. Easy walking to other areas. Stunning room, good size, spotless and comfortable. Very quiet at night so undisturbed sleep. Would definitely stay there again.

Overall, the hotel was great. Our room was really nice and clean and had a very nice bay window which let in lots of light. The staff were super friendly and genuinely good at their jobs and seemed to really care that you had a good stay. The breakfast was excellent too. This was probably because the hotel is very close to one of the popular night spots in Belfast and hence there were a lot of very loud, very drunk people going past the hotel late at night. Because I did not specify that we needed a handicapped facility when I booked our stay, it was very difficult to get in and out of the tub.. Also, as the room was right over a roadway,,the passing cars kept us awake most of the night... Tara otherwise was delightful and breakfast was delicious.

Really friendly staff - Ricky is a star! Excellent breakfasts - lovely pancakes, fried breakfast etc. Handy for lots of things. The nearby university means you have lots of quirky shops and cafes but it also means you have a lot of student digs around you but don't be put off by that. Thoroughly recommended and great value

If I was coming to Belfast again, I would book the Tara Lodge without thinking twice. The staff could not have been any friendlier or more helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The room was every bit as good as most hotels I have stayed in - very clean, well maintained and plenty of space. The breakfast was excellent - the porage really is worth going […] for! The map suggests that this is a bit out-of-the-way - but it's not. Within a couple of hundred yards is a street full of restaurants and bars - so the fact that the Tara doesn't have its own is not a hindrance. It's just a couple of pounds in a taxi to get into the centre - and the price of the Tara means that even if you include this cost, it works out cheaper than a soul-less corporate hotel in the City Centre. The street that the Tara is on is a bit run-down, but don't let that put you off. The Tara is justifably very proud of winning the Trip Advisor award for two-years running, and I can understand why it has done so. The staff are a credit to it. Very highly recommended. Read more

Friendly, clean and comfortable hotel located less than 15 mins walk from City Hall. Car parking is a major plus. We were allowed to leave our car in the hotel car park after the normal check out time to allow us to visit the Titanic Exhibition. Nice local restaurants,bars and convenience store just around the corner.

Our second stay at this hotel. Rooms are well equipped, the bed was very comfortable. Hotel and room were spotless. Breakfast was really nice, especially the porridge! Location is about 10 minutes walk from city centre. Near to lots of restaurants. Would recommend this hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly.

This hotel was small and charming. I loved the decor and feel of the building, and the customer service was out of this world. The breakfast was included in the price, and was delicious for both adults and children. We'll definitely be staying at Tara Lodge again the next time we are in Belfast.

Pleasant lodge with good amenities in Univerisity area, although a little way from central Belfast. Very friendly and helpful staff who helped with dinner recommendations and organised a black cab tour of the city. Great cooked-to-order breakfast. Free car parking. Would recommend to anyone who doesn't need to be right in the centre of the city.
