I am traveling solo through Buenos Aires and decided to do half of my stay in San Telmo and half in Palermo. The hotel is quaint and the staff is friendly, and of course, the pricing was attractive. However, when I arrived they told me that I would have to switch rooms after my first night because a couple was coming in the next day and wanted the full […] bed -- i would be transferred to a room with two singles. I said fine, tho perhaps I should have made a bigger stink about it. The single beds are TINY. Just because I'm traveling alone doesn't mean I don't want a decent sized bed, and my reservation noted that I'd have a full/queen + a city view. This is what was given to me my first night, and the room was great -- ONLY THERE WAS NO WATER AT ALL for a a few hours. it shut off completely while i was in the shower. When it did come back on, there was no hot water. There was actually no hot water all 5 days I stayed there, except for one. Not to mention, I had to switch rooms twice because I didn't like the single bed situation (more narrow than a twin). All in all, the stay was OK, but the room switching and water issues were a huge discomfort. Surrounding area, however, was lovely and quiet. Read more

I had THE best stay at Ayres Portenos Tango Suites! No, it's not your average tourist place and yes, the A/C may be a little noisy - but it's great value for money. It's safe, extremely friendly staff, I loved the decorations (where else can you have breakfast with Maradona??) and the location is walking distance to 'everything'.

The hotel staff were a bit grumpy, especially the guy who was there at night. It wasn´t that clean and it was very nois. The street it´s on is very loud and dirty and it doesn´t feel safe. having said that I didn´t have any problems. It wasn´t a great place to stay, put it that way. This hotel is within walking distance of pretty much everything you could wish to see in BA, and a bus ride from everything else. Each room and the common areas are all beautifully decorated with tango themes and the breakfast was delicious. Our room was spotlessly clean and the linen and towels were very comfortable.

O hotel e um hotel simples mas confortavel. O atendimento e muito bom. No primeiro dia a agua do chuveiro estava fria e quando reclamamos fomos prontamente atendidos. A ruao onde se localiza o hotel e estranha e deserta. Fica perto do centro e dar pra ir andando. O tur indicado pelo hotel que e o city tur deixou a desejar pois alem de ser so 3 horas […] nas descemos em em recoleta, puerto madero e outros conforme era a proposta do tur. Eu e minha namorada estivemos no Ayres em novembro de 2011. Apesar de ser um hotel simples, possui toda a estrutura que precisamos, e o melhor de tudo é que fomo super bem atendidos pelo Matias e a Julia, como também por todos os outros funcionários, que eram muito prestativos em passar dicas sobre os passeios na cidade. O café da manhã é completíssimo, […] uma das coisas que eu mais gostei no hotel. Tivemos a oportunidade de ficar em 2 quartos diferentes, pois chegamos antes do previsto, e ambos super bem limpos. A única coisa que ficou mais ou menos, é o barulho da rua, mas a localização no geral é muito boa, pois tem mercadinhos bem próximos, entre diversos outros passeios que dá pra fazer a pé. Contudo o quarto em que fiquei era demasiadamente pequeno e a área de banho era desconfortável. O pior, contudo, era o estado da rua em frente. Cheguei à meia-noite e dava medo. Gaten dette hotellet ligger i, virker ikke særlig trygg. Men vel innenfor opplevde vi et morsomt, sjarmerende og hyggelig bosted med mye kunst og et vennlig og engelsktalende personale. Et felles oppholdsrom utendørs oppe i tredje etasje var fint, hvor vi møtte andre reisende.
