The hotel room was conveniently located to a teller machine, a MacDonalds, a gas station and several restaurants. Take a local bus to the old town for less than $3.00 one way. I searched in Expedia for a room with one extra child in each (3 total people per room) and paid extra per room. When I arrived they said that Expedia had not sent them the right information (not true) and that they had no record that our kids were coming. After showing them the on.ine confirmation and asking them to move in a roll-away bed or moving […] us to a room that had a pull out couch they said that those rooms didn't exist. In the morning, I asked for the paper that Expedia sent so I could contact them and raise issue with the room situation (my kids slept on the floor) then the manager said that it wasn't expedia's fault rather one of their workers had input the information incorrectly and they do have rooms that accommodate more than 2. I told her that we got an extra blanket for my kids on the floor she said, "o, good, I'm glad that worked out". Could not connect to Internet, and power outlets did not work untill second day even after we complained. The staf could not solve the problems. The lighting in the room is insufficient, and shelving in bath area leaves a lot to be desired.

This hotel is just ok. It's a 30 min walk to the old town which is not bad but it makes it inconvenient if you want to change before dinner. There is no street parking so you have to park in the hotel's garage which costs 14 euros a night. The ramp into the garage is very narrow so don't attempt to drive it if you have a big car. The worst part is the […] beds. They are extremely uncomfortable. I woke up with back pain both mornings. I have slept on many hard mattresses in European hotels before but this one left me with back pain both nights. The design of the room while modern is not well thought out. The bathroom has a huge glass wall so if someone wants to use the bathroom at night, they either have to do it in the dark or turn on the lights and wake up the other person. It has some things that everyone would like: very friendly staff, nice room layout with a luxury feel, and a decent location (buses to the center are a few steps from the entrance). A modern, clean, safe and pleasant - if overpriced - hotel. Free wifi, but difficult to connect to. Far from downtown Salzburg, requiring buses, but these run fairly frequently and stop near the hotel. Okay neighborhood, but not much to do there - except eat at the fine Greek restaurant across the street.

The hotel is excellent by itself, and the only bad thing is that it's a 30-minute walk from the downtown. The decor in the hotel is quite modern. The showers are see-thru, so be careful whom you share the room with. People smoke right in front of the front door, which I hate, but you have to put up with tobacco smoke in Europe.

The hotel was on a direct bus line from the train station, and was easy to get to from the bus stop. Beds were comfortable with craftmatic type of adjustments available at the head and foot ends. Stayed here 3 nights and it was perhaps the best bargain of our 30 day trip. Everything about the place was great except the location. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the edge of historical Salzburg although there is a bus that runs right by the hotel. We walked every time even though it is not the most serene walk, it was fine. The Amedia Salzburg is outside of the main tourist area of Salzburg but has nearby bus service into town. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. The room had traffic noise and the beds were very hard. Otherwise the room was fine. There is a mall across the street. There were few restaurants around this area.

The hotel it self was o.k., it's a non-smoking hotel but I just went through the Sauna and steam room to ther patio and had my smokes when needed. I had breakfast there 4 times out of the 10 days I was there, Kind of pricey so I found out across the street there was a mall with a grocery store where I bought my supplies, bring a bag because they don't […] supply bags, you'll have to pay for a bag if you don't have one. The city center is about a 20 min. walk, it has a nice view of the mountians once you reach the bridge, you'll walk through a side street type of walk way where they have a lot of shops then you cross the briodge and there are even more shops with food places to eat and get your souviners. you can see Salzsburg in about 3 days, I took a couple tours, I wanted to go see Hitler's Eagles Nest but it was closed from may-oct. but I did get a chance to see Burchesgarden which was very nice and did some skiing near there at a place called Flachu, very nice runs. Check out the train system it can take you to towns like vienna and Feldkirsch. nice view of the swiss alps, I opted not to go to Switzerland because it was too expensive. The hotel was very new and modern, and was a great price for what we got. While the hotel is located a bit far from the city center, the bus stop was right outside the hotel which made it very easy to get in and out of the center. The only complaint we have was that the front desk workers were rather unpersonable.

This was a good deal especially since it included breakfast. The AMEDIA is very new and very hip looking. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. We walked everywhere....and used public transportation. We loved Salzburg - what's not to like! Salzburg is (in my view) quite overpriced in the main city area but this hotel was much more reasonable and easy. The number 2 and 10 go from just outside the hotel to the airport, about 30 mins away. The 2 and 4 go to the centre, old town and main station, 5-10 mins max by bus. Good hotel for the money. Front desk staff was helpful. Supermarket & coffee shop right across the street, handy for snacks or breakfast. Bus right outside the hotel. Recommend purchasing a Salzburg card from the front desk if you are planning to take in any tourist sites. Well worth the money and helps avoid some line ups.

It was not by any means a horrible experience, but some of the hotel staff were not very polite, our room was not clean (i.e. hair in the shower, used toilet paper rolls), and the beds were not comfortable. The location was convenient by bus but not close to the city center. However, for the price, the location was worth the bus trips to/from.

Only 5min from the heart of Salzburg, easily accessible by Obus 2 (heading to Obergnigl) from the railway station (maybe 10min), with the Sterneck-strasse stop right next to the hotel (10m walk at most!). Reception staff were all very welcoming and efficient, spoke good english for folks like us who are sadly uni-lingual, and both responded to our queries […] and offered helpful suggestions on every occasion. Our room was very spacious, as was the shower (in contrast to many we have encountered that have been often a quite tight fit, even for fairly small bodies like ours). Hotel has free umbrellas for loan if the weather looks suspect, and the Greek restaurant over the road was a very pleasant surprise - yummy food, good prices, and a welcome salad and "Greek water" (Ouzo) to boot. The air-conditioning was quiet and effective, and despite being on a room facing the road, we could not hear any traffic noise a all when the windows were shut. Overall, a great option in Salzburg!!
