"Nice place to take kids- close to SUNY Cortland"
Stay was nice! only complaint was our 15 year old was not allowed in the hot tub ( we stayed there last year -and teens were allowed to enjoy it w/us & that was one of the reasons we returned to that particular resort. Any teen (esp a 15 yer old ). that has adult supervision at all times in the hot tub is not unreasonable . age restriction 18 & up is […] rediculous!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best Hotel in Cortland!"
Best place to stay in Cortland compared to all the chains. Rooms are cozy with a kitchen, full size refrigerator and gas fireplace. Loved the balcony! Bar is small but lobby is massive. It took 15 minutes to get to the college. Ski mountian across the street with large bar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice and clean."
Hot tub and pool are very large with indoor and outdoor use and complimentary. Water park is extra. Breakfast buffet at the Acorn Grill is tasty and reasonable cost. Room was clean and very large. It also had a gas fireplace that was warm and cozy.Genuine Expedia guest review

Enjoyed our stay very much even. though we had to pay for the waterparkGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We were there for the Virgil Crest Ultra, which started/finished 1 minute down the road. I enjoyed the race while my family spent the day at the waterpark. Great to have cooking facilities in the the room as I was able to enjoy my prerace pasta dinner in the room. Check in and check out were easy and smooth - enjoyed the stay.Genuine Expedia guest review

we enjoyed the hotel amenities~ the beds were very comfortable~ just wish the cleaning service would have made it to our suite ~we left the room at 7:30 am and did not return until 4:30 pm and room service had not been there....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good and not good"
The hotel is lovely, staff was good except for the fact that I tried to call the front desk several times and there was no answer. I wasn't even put on hold, there was nothing. After several tries I went to the desk. The other thing is that it's nice that a water park is there, but we just wanted to use the hot tub. The hot tub hours are the same as […] the water park, so if you want to use it when the park isn't open, you're out of luck. Very limited morning hours and early evening cut off times. "Great Stay if you find yourself in Cortland"
We needed to be in Cortland for one night but The Hope Lake Lodge made a mini-vacation out of our brief stay . the large suite we had was more than roomy too accommodate a family of 5 . The only drawback was the service at the Acorn restaurant . Our server was pleasant and the food quality was fine but the 45 min wait for our entrees seemed like the […] kitchen couldn't handle the volume of orders even though the restaurant wasnt entirely full. However, we would stay again if teh need arose. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Expectations were not meant !"
I was very disappointed that we could not check in early , I must of asked the front desk about 3 times . We got there a little after 12 so we just stayed in waterpark. Which was another disappointment . I believe there should be more for older kids and adults to do , expand it more or just lower the price . I've stayed at better indoor water parks […] like one in PA. The food was so so that we ordered which was pizza . Our family suite was very nice and loved that I was able to cook dinner and breakfast . With that being said , not sure if I'll ever come back . Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best place to be"
It was fantastic the weather the people my kids love the water park and the games. It was only one concern the food, it was no that good. The service we got as soon we got into the hotel was fantastic. The from desk lady was omg the best I can not remember her name but she was at the from desk the first night we arrived on June 20 at 11:30pmGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for a short break"
We were a party of 10 and we stumbled across this hotel googling for self-catering accommodation that would take our party in a room around Ithaca. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel... excellent facilities with enough entertainment for the family. Do your groceries before you leave the nearest town as there's not much in the surrounding areas. The […] staff was excellent... highly hospitable, particularly Rebecca at the front desk for her excellent hospitality. The waterpark is a bit expensive so make sure you secure the discounted rate when checking in. It doesn't have too many rides but enough to entertain the kids and adults alike. "great place but overpriced for what it was"
Our room was comfortable though very small for the price. We had a well equipped kitchen. I was surprised that the water park and breakfast were not included in the room rate-- I've stayed in much nicer facilities with full- sized water parks for much less that had park admission and breakfast included. The water park was small, but clean and the staff […] was friendly. The breakfast buffet was meager and ridiculously overpriced. Dinner at the hotel, on the other hand, was quite good. "Beautiful Hotel - Waterpark $$ for what it is"
We LOVED this hotel. It was absolutely beautiful. Clean, nice decor, friendly staff. I was a little taken aback at the high cost of the water park - especially for what it is. It's very small, not worth $30 a person ($35 if you don't book in advance) also, as a hotel guest you have use of the pool & hot tub. There are only a few slides & the wave pool. […] Most people did not pay to be in there, but were there as guests of the hotel. I wondered why I had to pay additional as a guest. I felt a little ripped off on that aspect. Other than that - like I said, I recommend. Just heads up on the water park. Nice area. Good food in the restaurant. Good service at the bar. College hang out at night. "A little above average"
Overall, staff is courteous and helpful, rooms are fairly nice, and location isn't too far out of the way. I would stay again as my 7 year old and I had a great time at the water park. The outdoor recreation area across the street looked like it would be a lot of fun also.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Wolf Lite"
The hotel is a smaller version of the Great Wolf Lodge. The prices remain steep, like the original. We did get a decent price through hotels, but in- house expenses were high. We stayed at the park for an hour or so AFTER check out. They restrict your use of the water park attractions. I thought that was bogus, especially after the coin I dropped in […] less than 24 hours. Greek Peak is not a destination resort, but if you're up in the area and the kids are tagging along, you'll have a good (albeit-expensive) time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is not near amenities. Small, limited restaurant on site. Main restaurant advertised is across the street. Need car to access or long walk across dark remote street. Lots of kids due to water park which was expected. Unfortunately our room was on 2nd floor which is the access walkway to water park. Lots of yelling, running kids down hallway. "My Spring Break visit At Hope Lodge"
Visited the Lodge with my husband and 2 boys (6 & 8 years old) during spring break. We stood 2 nights/3 days. The suite was huge and very comfortable. Staff and Service – Everyone in this hotel works to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We had 100% exceptional service 100% of the time. "gorgeous lodge, great family get away"
The hotel was amazing. Very clean, beautiful decor. The restraunt part if the water park could use more staff, there was one lady working by herself taking orders& cooking the food.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hope Lake Lodge is a really nice hotel, particularly those with young children. The rooms and corridors are very nicely designed and attractive. It was great having a kitchen in the room and the fireplace was also a nice touch. The problem was that it really isn't close to anything but the ski resort, and there aren't restaurants nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our 2nd stay, 1st great, this time not. 1 Miscommunication re amenities. Prior to booking I asked about jacuzzi (our main interest/indoor&outdoor) & restaurant times. They said jacuzzi open til 10pm but actually true only on wkends. Arrived at 7:30pm weekday & both jacuzzi and restaurant already closed, so few people were in the hotel. Nice staff responded […] by asking restaurant staff to stay later and generously treated us to a good dinner. Also nicely let us stay later next day to use jacuzzi though we could not. Big disappointment not to use it the night before, our MAIN reason for booking. We were tired, drove from NYC that day. We could easily have gotten nice room, CHEAPER, in the area with working jacuzzi!. 2 Heat only good in LR, did not extend well enough into BR. 3 At 1am we were shocked by loud mechanical humming through BR wall which was an 'electrical room'. Staff said 'oh yes, we've suggested those rooms on either side of the electrical rooms NOT be used as guest rooms because of frequent noise complaints'. Since hotel was nearly empty why were we booked in an obviously noisy room, especially after our earlier upsets? A very nice security guy moved ud to a new room, where then he witnessed along with us a terrifically noisy refrigerator! So we had to be moved again. Not a good night's sleep and for a price higher than elsewhere. All very disappointing & too expensive though some individual staff did try to be helpful. We will not return. I spend a night with a suite. Room is comfortable, especially the style of the furniture. The only thing we don't like it is the food. It is no way to find a restaurant outside of the hotel. So you have to eat at the hotel. The food is expensive with bad quality. The steaks ( beef and fish) are all rubbery and from the frozen food. It is find if you […] could eat from somewhere else. "grandparents and granddaughter getaway"
We recently spent two nights and two days (week days) at the lodge at Greek Peak. We Had been planning this for awhile in order to enjoy the indoor water park and to getaway from the cold weather. There were craft activities for our granddaughter each day which she could choose to do or not do. We spent hours at the waterpark which was much less crowded […] on the weekdays. Then we could relax in our room and get dinner at the restaurant off the lobby. The restaurant was average. I would have preferred more vegetarian foods. The wait staff was very friendly. "Wonderful getaway spot with LOTS to do!"
I took my two kids and one each of their friends - 4 kids and me! It was great. They all had plenty to do and someone to do it with. "Multiple family getaway"
overlooks Greek Peak ski hills, and is a beautiful view. We stayed in the Loon Hollow Suite. It was a full kitchen, dining room table, fireplace with mounted TV above it, couch that pulls out into a Queen bed, and a separate bedroom and bathroom with a queen bed. You can close a double door between the bedroom and the rest of the suite, so if you want […] to put a baby to bed in your bedroom, you can still use the rest of the suite. Or if you want to put kids to bed on the pullout, there's a TV in the Master bedroom too. Front desk has tons of pack and plays for free use. We used a Graco, very nice. The waterpark is pretty amazing. The kids and had a blast. It is an additional cost, but kids under 2 are free, and adults are around $25. There's an arcade with a ton of games and kids earn tickets to spend on prizes. Ladies, the spa is super nice, I had a massage, the prices are super reasonable actually lowest of any spa I've ever been to! Full workout center, very nice, very big. Campfires every night, stuff for smores was not provided, so bring with you. The lodge where you check in is the central part of the resort, so everyone gathers there at night, there was live music, that's where the bar and restaurant are. The kids just ran around, and it was very easy to keep an eye on them. The restaurant is very family friendly and low prices. Kids under 3 ate free. They have rolling carts in the lobby to bring all your luggage up to your room very easily. The BearfootDen is the kids area. Lots of games, toys, Wii, craft tables, etc. Very nice instructors who were engaging, and lots of kids being dropped off by their parents for babysitting. You can play in the Den anytime with your kids, but if you leave, they do charge for babysitting. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Disappointed about the upcharge to the water park."
Disappointed about the high upcharge to use the waterpark. It was $35 per person, on top of the nearly $260 for the room. BTW, the water park is geared toward small children. My two children are 13 and 16 and couldn't go on 1/2 of the activities because they weighed over 100 lbs. At nearly $320 total cost, this hotel was not worth the price. "Nice, calm, family-oriented"
If you like calm vacations that include kids activities, this place is for you. Some rooms have kitchens and you can eat at the hotel or cook your own food (big plus if you have kids who only eat certain foods). Walmart and other supermarkets is about a 10-5 minute drive from the hotel. Right next to the hotel is lake (you can fish with NYS license), […] Adventure center (ropes, zip-line, mountain coaster, and few other things). Around 15 minute drive, mini-golf and target paintball. enough to keep kids and teens busy for few days. Don't forget about Waterpark at the hotel. The waterpark is a separate fee but it comes out cheaper than Great Wolf Lodge (for my family). It depends on size of the family. Full day regular ticket is $35 (or after 5 pm is $25). "Hope Lake Lodge at Ski Resort"
Family suites with full kitchens are great. Bring ingredients for your favorite meals and cook in your room. You will have to do a little bit of work but you will make your family happy and your wallet even happier, eating dinner in the hotel restaurant was a HUGE expensive mistake. It took 20 minutes to get our simple soda and coffee drink order to […] our table and an hour and twenty minutes to get food to our table. Three of the members of our party of eight had time to leave (as after 30 minutes had passed with NO FOOD, they decided to take their 7 year old to the pool for a quick swim to distract him from his hunger) the table go to the room change go swimming for 30 minutes go back to the room change and come back to pick up their food (an elk steak sandwich, a house salad, and a child's mini pizza). Our meal consisted of a club sandwich and three filet's that showed up over cooked, dry and cold. Our 17 year old timed the entire event from the point of ordering our food it took 1hour and 23 minutes to receive our food. Funny thing is the waitress kept telling us it was really busy and to our count only 6 other tables in the restaurant were occupied with parties of 2-5 people. Then she blamed room service orders being extensive... hello, I have come down to your hotel restaurant I deserve priority. Then she blamed the wedding reception, so my husband went out to see if the wedding guest were eating...NOPE the dinner ended 2 hours ago. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very Comfortable for a family of six"
The Hope Lodge Hotel was a great place for a family vacation. Lots of room for everyone to sleep comfortably, full kitchen, table and chairs and balcony. The beds were really nice with good mattresses. There was a lot to do in the hotel for children - they had some little programs throughout the day for them. The only thing about the hotel is the price […] of the waterpark. We paid the evening price of $20 for each person - but that adds a lot to the cost of the vacation and that was only good for three hours. The waterpark is fun, but is not something that our family would want to use for a whole day. If it was included in your room price, or a nominal fee for your entire stay, that would make me feel more favorable towards the waterpark. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
