When we first arrived Amsterdam via train from Brussels we quickly found the trams. Take the #13 Tram and it will take you to the hotel in about 10-15 minutes maximum. Think of it as a more suburban hotel with extremly easy access to the central city. The staff is welcoming and the decor very nice in the lobby. The room itself is very nice with wde […] expansive windows allowing for lots of natural light. A desk complete with coffee and tea service. . Nice storage for our clothes. The bed itself is a bit not secure as the mattress moves a touch. The pillows were very insginificant but funtiional. TV service is available and limiited but what did we care as we were there to see the city. The bathroom is a slight step up and very comfortable. Very large counter for all of your personal things like tooth brushes and razors and such. The shower itself was the most disappointing. It is designed without a door and the water incurison into the other area of the bathroom was always something we had to contend with. Low flow shower head was a challanging as well but all in all it is no reason to not stay here. All and all this is a very very nice hotel. The trade off for cost vs location was good enough for us to take a chance. We stayed our planned two night and learned our way around before spending our other planned two nights inside the city with its much more expensive price tag. Read more

Great hotel! Super friendly staff, a wonderful bed, cool room design. On the other side of Brussels... A bit out of the way of the center... But a cool neighborhood and only a 5 minute metro ride into the center. Best of all quiet! Can't beat the value of this hotel!

Located in a nice neighborhood (very close EU Parliament) and at a very short walking distance from the metro, the hotel was a good find. We took the metro to the city center (only 3-4 stops away) and that was very convenient. The hotel lobby and bar has comfortable lounges and game areas, with a nice outdoor patio for a good weather. What a great hotel for the money! Very modern, huge very well appointed room with free wi-fi!!! The staff were young and helpful. (Caveat), This hotel IMO, is skewed toward a younger clientele. They convert much of the lobby area into a bar/club in the evening and the music in the lobby is upbeat (loudish) much of the day, but we were there on the weekend […] and I couldn't hear it at all while we were trying to sleep. The rooms were very quiet. The Aloft is located in the EU quarter, not the city center, so for tourist attractions and shopping it could be a bit of a hike (2-3k), but the metro staion is right around the corner. There are also quite a few restaurants and pubs a couple blocks away, and a wonderful pastry/ coffee shop just around the corner. My wife and I spent a couple nights in Brussels on our vacation, and had a lot of fun there. If it's your first visit take one of the bus tours, it's a good way to see all the local attractions and they'll pick you up at the hotel. Enjoy. Read more

I stayed at the Aloft hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is very close to EU headquarters, and a 5 minute walk to the Schuman subway station, and bus to the airport. The hotel itself is very modern and hip, the rooms are very large for european standards, the room is large for american standards. Rooms are clean with a great bath room and shower, free wifi […] was available all day in the rooms, beds are so comfortable. Also a nice bar, lounge area on the ground floor. Aloft/Schuman in Brussels, Belgium is one of two such facilities in Europe. As the name suggests, its a new twist on an old industry, and in this particular instance, it works. When you walk in the door, you are greeted by a lobby that might remind you more of a mobile phone or tech store. The lobby is decidedly low frills, with the reception being […] a round "station" with personnel ready to help. What's to like? Early check-in, no questions asked. Free wireless Internet. A grab-and-go food option at reasonable-for-Europe pricing. Comfortable, functional furniture arranged in groupings that invite informal meetings and conversation. There's simple art, a (probably over-active) video display quartet and a rather odd digital "ticker tape" that provides news bites and off-the-wall facts ("did you know that goldfish are the only animals that can..."). There's a low-key bar that's busy during the week but quiet on weekends, when Brussels' 'Europe' sector is all but abandoned by the droves of EU workers. There's even a full-size, no charge pool table at the ready. Was the experience perfect? Of course not. The shower leaks under the door, and the Net went down for half a day, but for business travelers, Aloft is a short walk to Metro, an array of small restaurants and bars, reasonably stocked grocery stores and a good many European Commission office buildings. Only a short distance more gets you to the European Parliament. The rooms are open and functional, the beds inviting and the price is fair. Why pay for wood-carved reception desks, cheesy art and over-sized floral displays that you will only see twice a day if you even notice at all? This was my 16th business trip to Brussels but my first stay at Aloft. I will be back to both soon. Read more

Great location: Do not expect to be in the center, obviously, but it's two blocks from one of the most important metro stations, so it's fast and convenient. Great Hotel overall. Just don't use the parking garage. It is 25 euro a day, small and almost impossible to get in our out of. The rooms are amazing and the water pressure, wow! The only issue with the bar: They like closing it for special events.

Great location - 2 minutes to Schuman metro and close to all European Institutions/Tourist attractions in the European Quarter. Very modern and trendy décor throughout the hotel including the rooms.Friendly and informative staff . The free use of computer facilities in the lobby is very useful if travelling without a laptop.

Bus 27 can take you by the central, make sure to buy the bus ticket before you get in the bus as they tend to charge you more if you buy the ticket inside the bus. But 1) telephone not working – which is fine had it not beeped loudly every 5 minutes 2) the tissue box was empty (it was a cold day and I wanted to blow my nose, I used toilet paper instead). In the evening, I scolded my hand from the hot water coming from the sink tap (lovely surprise - no cold water). I have stayed at Aloft Brussels Schuman previously for a longer break without these problems. So I was led to the conclusion that if your here to stay 1 night – they’ll give you a below average room. Regarding the security flaw: we (2 girls) were almost pick-pocketed inside the hotel by 2 men who walked through front reception without being questioned (1 staff only). We were waiting in the bar area which ironically had no bar staff or staff members. (this area also has an entrance / exist). 1 man approached us and started talking in French; used this as a distraction whilst his companion unzipped my bag. I turned just in time. We had a lucky escape as these were 2 physically strong men & the situation had the potential to be worse. It is unacceptable that hotel will open entrances but not have staff attending. I would advise to anyone visiting Brussels / staying at this hotel to be extra vigilant. Read more

The bar is pretty expensive though, and I didn't like the fact that they are a 'Dog friendly' hotel....however the maximum weight of the dog cant be more than 18kg. According to my dictionary this called discrimination. Small dogs can make more trouble sometimes than big ones. […] It's like not serving somebody because he or she is black.
