Travel Inn - Redding

This motel is in need of some maintenance, but nothing that would affect comfort. It was very clean and quiet, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was roomy, the staff very polite and traveling alone, I felt safe... as those are the things that are impotant to me, I felt it was a good value for the money and will stay there again.

The bathroom sink was clogged up. There is a charge for late checkout $10.00. Additional person $5.00. I called front desk in the morning, lady was rude and kept on saying ask the manager for any futher questions. But room was clean and had a nice TV.

For the low price that we paid, we received a room with queen-sized bed, flat screen tv, shower, easy parking, microwave and refrigerator.This motel is centrally located within walking distance from the Sacramento River walk and Old Town Redding. Overall, a very enjoyable experience in the area.

I just needed a clean bed and shower on a very long business trip. This is an old hotel which has been (partly) renovated piecemeal. The bathroom wasn't great but the water was hot. The bed was firm and the sheets were clean. The area -- on the edge of town -- was a bit sketchy (at least it seemed like it at night). I should have known what I was getting into, but it was the best value the night I was staying. My biggest hassle was the outlets. The outlets were very difficult to get to, and some of them were a bit 'pushed in' and unable to use with flat adapter plugins. Not only that but none of the outlets are grounded (meaning that third prong on the outlet) […] so I was unable to use my surge protector in order to use and protect my electronic devices. My room also had some minor problems with the toilet that I was able to fix myself. The clerks and maintenance guys were indeed friendly. The noise level from TV's in surrounding rooms kept me up all night. In the place below me the TV blasted until 3AM and the one next to me, after a midnight crash in& door slamming, until 5AM. After a 2 hour break the speedfreak below got up and started crashing around and slamming doors and banging on walls. Took a chance booking this motel since it had no exterior pictures on the website. Should have gone with my gut and selected a more expensive motel. Room was tight, bathroom was unfinished, fridge stuck in a corner. However, they did have nice furniture in the room. Overall, stay somewhere else until this place gets a serious renovation.

Driving to CA my wife and daughter needed an affordable room for an overnight pit stop. Wife said the room was clean and quiet. She got milk for our daughter and a snack at a Taco Bell drive-thru a couple blocks away. She said the staff was friendly, and the room was cute.

You can tell that they don't put a whole lot of money into this place, but it was fine for what we needed it for (a place to stay for one night on a road trip). We arrived on a Sunday afternoon. I've stayed at a few of the old motels that are in the area, and they are generally about what you'd expect.... nothing special, but adequate for a nights stay in Redding. The Travel Inn was fine, and I had a comfortable night there. There was a fridge, and a microwave in the room. No coffee maker, but I never make use of those, so I was alright with […] that.I would stay here again.Sorry to report that their really isn't much happening in this town. The Sundial Bridge over the river is beautiful, Turtle Bay is a decent little museum, and the Cascade Theatre brings some great acts to town, but beyond that, there isn't much to recommend. The man who checked us in was very nice and I have no complaint with his service. However, from there is was dreadful! The room was not clean, the toilet did not work nor did the air conditioning in one of the rooms and it was 104 degrees! We were paid up for 2 niights for 2 rooms. They did not make the beds or give us fresh towels even after they were […] requested. The garbage was not even emptied. Normally I can dump my owon garbage and make my own bed, but when you are paying for a hotel and service, well...... there are certain things you expect. The rooms were to be no smoking but he staff smoked around the rooms so the smoke was present and little cups of butts were everywhere. There was no extra toilet paper, no kleenex, and only a small bar of soap offered. The advertisement stated there were hair dryers but one of the rooms did not have one and the bathroom floor was filthy. The staff wasn't very communicative. When we checked in they just handed us our key and said called it a night. Didn't let us know about internet or anything and we couldn't reach the front desk to get the information we needed. But the room was very comfortable and CLEAN. From the outside of the hotel you would never know that they're taking such good […] care of these rooms. It's an older hotel, but there was absolutely no smell (mildew or otherwise) in our non-smoking room. This was one of the most affordable options on our route north from Sacramento, and we felt lucky that the room was as comfortable as it was. The clerk was kinda nosy - called my room 20 minutes after my son/daughter stopped in to ensure they weren't staying overnight... I told the clerk i was in redding to visit them when i checked in... They don't have anything else to do? .... Room was comfy, a/c unit loud, walls thin.

The most comfortable bed in several dozen motel stays. Clean room with no heavy industrial cleaning scents. Only drawback is no bathtub only large shower enclosure. Owner was pleasant and helpful. No continental breakfast, but for the price that was to be expected.
