The location of this hotel was just right for folks who don't want to be right in the middle of the action. Just a 2/3 block walk takes you where most of the shops, bars, cafes are. Also, you couldn't beat the nice view of the new Harpa Concert hall all lit up every night across from the hotel. Size wise, the room was pretty standard for European rooms I've stayed in before. As mentioned in other reviews, the bathroom will get wet after a shower. There also isn't storage for your clothes so put a sweater on over that wrinkled shirt you just pulled out of your suitcase. They gave my wife and I a room on the 1st floor. It was incredibly loud in the mornings with slamming doors and the clip clop of heels and dress shoes. Request a room on a higher floor. The front desk service couldn't have been better. They helped with car rental, restaurant info & airport shuttle and were generally pleasant and friendly. I would stay here again, but request a different floor to stay on.

The room was great. We had 3 adult women staying here. Our room had 2 twin beds & a futon. It had a kitchen w/all the necessities. There is not much privacy as it is all 1 big room (sleep area, futon/tv area, and kitchen) but it was clean. Bathroom was clean. In the shower you pull a curtain around you. The floor of the bathroom is also the floor of the shower so you can't really have more than 1 person in the bathroom (like brushing teeth while someone showers). This is not the hotel's fault as it's everywhere in Iceland, the water tastes & smells like sulfur. Be prepared for that. The staff wasn't overly friendly but they weren't unfriendly. After spending a couple days there we decided it is just their culture. Another thing we loved is they have storage. We arrived in Iceland prior to check-in time & the room was not ready so we were able to use a large closet type locker to store our luggage in while we went & had breakfast & walked around. Then came back & checked in. The main doors are locked. You have to ring a bell to be let in originally but they give you the code to get in once you've checked in. They have a computer w/printer available to use in their "lobby" area. I will definitely recommend to everyone & anyone. The tourist companies will pick you up at the hotel or you can just walk down to the one we used. Max 10 min walk. We walked to the church, took 10 min. We paid a total of $193.00 w/tax for 2 nights. We split it 3 ways so really I paid $64! Awesome deal!

A very great place to stay for a good price. We had the best location possible as it was right in the city center and walking distance to everything. It's also right next to one of the major tour companies, a bus station, and in the center of all the night life. Apparently there is more than one location, and the other location may not be as convenient (according to some reviews). The only major problems were that they charged as an early check-in fee at 9am (check-in at 3pm) despite the room already being clean and free and the wifi wasn't working in our room most of our stay.

when you look at the site photos, you are given the impression you are staying in the Hotel - Hotel Keflavik. In reality, you are across the road in a smaller building with shared facilities....the Guesthouse. Maybe I was not careful enough. But directly outside our room was a main dining area where people would congregate and talk and eat. We heard […] them until almost 2 am. I didn't realize that we would be sharing a bathroom, showers or kitchen area. The room was small, in good shape, and served our purpose. I was quite upset at what we got. We stayed one night and on our last night in Iceland, upgraded to a room in the main hotel, which was much better. Read more

Bij aankomst lag de was nog in de douche en waren de bedden niet opgemaakt. In de tuin bij de guesthouse was een groep heren luidruchtig bier aan het drinken waarbij de geluidsinstallatie zo nu en dan flink werd opengedraaid. Dat ging zo door tot in ieder geval 23.15. Guethouse Keflavik var ikke et særligt indbydende sted, der var ikke tv og heller ikke bad og toilet for sig, det var nærmere som et vandrerhjem, hvor der boede to håndværkere. Så vi spøgte om vi måtte få et værelse på Hotel Keflavik i stedet, og det måtte vi godt. Hotellet var helt iorden, dejligt sted, kan klart anbefale de luxe room.

Þarna er mjög gott að bíða flugs og einnig til að hvíla sig þegar komið er að utan fyrir langt ferðalag t.d. út á land. Er hættur að keyra örþreyttur í hálku og myrkri þegar þess þarf ekki. Betra að halla sér og leggja óþreyttur af stað að morgni. Morgunmaturinn er frábær! Feðgar að norðan
