Nice place and clean but the service was lacking , We got there and waited 20 minutes and carried our bags to our room a distance a way . We were informed internet was $ for 15 minutes for 1 device I found out a few days later you could get unlimited service for a device -way too much for a all inclusive to charge . The staff at Iberostar Cozumel were all exceptional. They were very attentive to the guests' needs. The only 2 negatives we experienced during our stay was the water pressure in the shower and the lack of refilling food trays on the buffet line. The water pressure in the shower was absolutely dismal. I am used to poor pressure, but have never experienced […] anything like this. It wasn't a big deal, but definitely an inconvenience. There were many workers in the dinning area keeping it clean and quick to offer refills on drinks, however, there were way too many occasions when a particular food tray was empty and remained so for a long time. Often, an entire area of the buffet line had no food. With so many workers there, including cooks, I'm not sure how this could have happened, and also why it was allowed to happen on such a regular basis. Read more

The bungalows are separated by beautifully landscaped jungle with iguanas, flamingos and peacocks roaming freely and interacting with the guests. It is really a very nice setup. The only place different would be downtown, which is highly "touristy" and very overpriced on everything. The hotel is excellent for snorkelers and scuba divers as there are different tours and trips departing straight from the pier on the beach. Very convenient. The food was so-so. It was nice to have fruit and vegetables as proteins left much to be desired. Coffee was awful, the drinks in the bar quite limited to just local liquor, though the staff could mix some tasty concoctions. The room was quite nice and not too small. The two big problems we had with it - an awful hard spring mattress ( we have back problems so I might not be objective here,) and the air conditioning unit in the room was so noisy that it seemed a train was going through the room all the time. But, it might be a good motivator to get you out of it. What is different these days, all-inclusive seems to be attracting people that CAN eat it all and all day long ( you probably get the picture). But checking the front desk after 1pm, we easily made 3 additional reservations for 8-9 o'clock slots. I enjoyed the food at the Mexican restaurant and service at the Steakhouse the most. We also booked a sailing/snorkel tour and a jungle dune buggy tour through the hotel. We loved them both. We also went to Mr. Sanchos, Chankanaab and drove around the island on our own. Mr. Sanchos not as much fun as it looked. Chankanaab would have been good but there were jellies that day. Driving around the island, a must. Hotel lets you check out kayaks and sail boats but I recommend that you bring your own snorkel gear. Overall, we enjoyed our stay because of the friendly staff and good service. Also the discoteca was not so nice. I peaked in the first night and never returned. My older teenage kids went one night to play pool and dance and never went back. In my opinion the music needs to be turned down a notch and it should open earlier to encourage family usage. As is, the drunk people are the entertainment rather than the dancing. Read more

Bring your own coffee--the cappuccinos ranged from acceptable-good to watery-tasteless. The food was generally very good with an excellent selection that changed daily, staples like hotdogs and hamburgers all the time-to a good selection of Mexican, US an European food choices. The steak house was vastly overrated and I would not waste one of my specialty restaurant meals there. The Mexican Restaurant was good but not great--considering one is in Mexico. But, it would be impressive in the US or EU. All in all the general buffet restaurant was the best choice. Based on what I paid, it was a good value for the money and I would choose it again. HOWEVER, it is an EXPENSIVE cab ride to downtown so if you wish to do shopping or see the Island plan on renting a car. Read more

Everything really wonderfu, EXCEPT, the fact that things are stolen from the pool area if left there for too long, and particularly at closing time. When they go around picking up left over stuff, the bad stuff is turned in to lost and found but good stuff is gone. I lost a brand new diving Tshirt and my son's shoes. I'm still craving the torilla soup from the Mexican resaurant and my mom and sister loved the steakhouse. The only thing I can say that was not that great was the beds and the small bathroom (three women in one room) but I didn't go on vacation to stay in bed so it didn't bother me. Everything was great less the music at the pool in the afternoon, often it would be to loud. Daily the chef was about interacting with the guests and asking about special needs. Lots of open lounges on the beach. Diving at Dressel Divers was fantastic.

We spent 2 weeks at Iberostar in Cozumel after staying at the Presidente many times. The staff were fabulous. If anyone walks away with a bad experience it is there own fault. The entertainment/activities staff went out of their way to make sure everyone had a good time. A special thank you to Lisette, Guillermo, Diego, Alejandro, Michelle, Mario, Fernando, […] and any of my other "ninos" I may have missed. You made our trip memorable and I look forward to seeing you again!! The bellhops were fantastic, always quickly picking us up for a ride to the lobby for dinner, drinks, or just relaxing with friends away from our room. Also they are very informative on the resort as well as knowledgeable of the island. Front desk staff too were very helpful, however, it took me awhile to understand the workings of the internet, slow as it may be it was a good life line to home. The food was good with a continual variety and they did not ask a lot as far as dress codes with the exception of the Mexican restaurant were men were required to wear long pant. Lisetieth was exceptional in the restaurants, walking around making sure all guests had whatever their hearts desired, within reason of course. She always made sure we got our daily bananas baring the shipment was bad or delayed. The only complaint I had was with one swim up bar tender, Franklin, who was very rude not only to my husband and I but also other guests. Perhaps this is not his line of work. Experience Iberostar!!! I read ALL of the reviews for this hotel before booking. And honestly I will agree with some and not with others. I went to Cozumel to relax and that is what I got !! I went with my 11 year old daughter and we both had a great time !!! The staff was extremely nice, and I am in customer service so I am picky! The service was amazing, the entertainment […] group extremely fun and nice! My daughter had a lot of fun and I had a lot of time to relax! The two things that I will agree with on the reviews is that the rooms do smell like mildew, but is expected from being next to the ocean and all of the humidity, and the other thing is that the beds really are not comfortable, but we slept just fine :) Big issue people have that I read was the food, I mean its not a buffet in Vegas, but there are so many options that you are bound to find something that u like, It was good, not amazing but good. Oh and the beach is not the best either, but great to relax by and take in some sun! Would say the majority of people there where families, older people and couples, not a lot of partying singles.. This is the first time I have taken the time to rate a hotel even though I have stayed here many times. Every year, I spend a few nights at the Casa Mexican Hotel in town and then go down to the Iberostar for a week. The food was just ok as in years past except last year we all thought it was better. Going into town for a dinner or two breaks up the […] disappointment. The only issue with that is that it is a $25 taxi ride each way. No shuttle is offered. Albertos beach bar and restaurant is also a good choice for different food. The fitness room was in disrepair. It had two bikes but both were not working.The crosstrainer was also not working. It would be nice if they had better service around the pool and beach for refreshments. This year they actually had a night on the beach with music and dancing - so nice compared to the lame shows they do every evening. I hope they read this and do more activities on the beach. Generally, when night sets in it gets very boring unless you go over to Albertos - it is so much fun. I really love the setting - much more junglelike than pictures show. We dive every year with SeaHorse of the Carribean - this year the Iberostar charged us $50 just so they could pick us up at their dock.
