I really enjoyed my stay i Hong Kong. I also really enjoyed the srvice Hotels.com gave me. I originally booked my room for the wrong day and they allowed me to change it with no issues. I am in the Navy on deployment and all I wanted in Hong Kong was a day of rest and relaxation and hotels.com made it happen Thanks

Great hotel, seemed brand new. Very elegant facilities and good customer service. Easy transportation from and to central, with a free shuttle service. Highly recommended. USA standard for a 5 star hotel maybe, with a much more economic price.

Hi, if you have a cold season then WHY not to make HEATING MODE available in the aircond in the room? It has COOLING, VENTILATION but no HEATING. This is -35C in a place I live now but I managed to get cold just a week ago having +15C outside and +18C in room in your hotel in HK just a week ago! Your location is sweet relatively to awesome shuttle […] bus service and very clean environment but this is industrial area still, so why not to host a couple of ATM's and convenient store like 7-eleven in your building? MTN is going to open their stations around in two years only, so you have to fill up your rooms somehow, yeah? And yeah I know that life and everything is expensive in HK, so hotels are... and I also know this is normal to vary the price for rooms relatively to the market demand, i.e. it might be higher for the high season. Kind of norm but, I am disagreed this is ok to have same room for the 2.5 price difference within one week time frame and for the single customer just because it is covering the New Year date. I don't really care how common is that but this is an example of very bad marketing. Not essential but sort of normal to expect some freebies while living in hotel during the holidays. Not a word from the hotel staff, no TV in the world-most common languages. If someone would ask me to rate staff separately, there should be cleaners nominated for bonus, all receptionists putted to training but tall guy from P4 should be hotel manager, that is for sure. This is a wonderful hotel nestled deep in the heart of nothing. Literally, there is nothing to do and nowhere to eat in the immediate vicinity. The hotel runs a shuttle that we tried to get on three different occasions but with no luck due to crowd size. Great overall! The hotel shuttle is very conveinant with stops and pickups at airport express train service and attractions. The buffet is very good. We are from Kansas and if my wife liked the food and cleanliness its all good. Public transportation is very easy to use from the hotel. We caught the # 75 bus and sat back and enjoyed the ride to central […] bus station where you can walk to the Star Ferry to go over to the Kowloon side. We also walked from the Ferry to the airport express train station and caught the hotel shuttle back to the hotel. The hotel staff is very kind and more than willing to help. It's a 5 star hotel at 3.5 star price. Location was a concern but there are many buses going into the Wan Chai that you don't need to be worry. Rooms are quiet and large and staff is friendly. Great in room wifi. Will stay again if they don't increase the price.

When we arrived we thought it was a very neat hotel. The front staff was a little nervous about us walking around because we found the hotel so charming and romantic; we were there as a couple. The room was amazing, it was so well decorated and extremely comfortable (also clean and quite). Our stay here at L Hotel Island South was great. Not to say we spent a whole lot of time actually in the hotel, but the time we did was comfortable, relaxing and the staff was extremely accommodating. One staff member in particular, I believe her name was Clara, went way above her duties to help us with our commute around the city. She gave us maps, […] directions, helped us change our money, and even gave personal suggestions of particular places we would do well to go visit. The Hotel is a bit out of the way of the main city and most attractions [except Ocean Park, which we could actually see from outside our room window] but their timely and reliable shuttle service will drop you to the nearby MTR station and pick you up from the airport express and take you back to the hotel. We rode a taxi only once during our 3 day trip because we woke up late the morning of our departure and missed the shuttle. All in all, a great 1st trip to HK and a great hotel staying experience. Best hotel in Hong Kong for the money. Only downside is the Aberdeen location which requires a 15 to 30 minute bus, cab or hotel shuttle ride to other side of Hong Kong island.

Stayed here for one night with my wife, 4 year old and 1.5 year old. Very close to Ocean Park. If you don't want to wait for the shuttle, taxi is only 20 hkd (the minimum rate for taxis in hk) I don't think there is anything else to do in the area for kids. the shower room has a glass wall, with the curtains controlled from the outside of the bathroom. […] If you need privacy, get your own room. haha. good for the kids. i was able to watch them while they played in the tub :) the buffet is really really good. the gym is very awesome too. the outdoor pool was closed, but seemed extremely well kept. Hotel was nice. Shuttle service was timely and very convenient going to Ocean Park, MTR Central station, and Wan Chai. The breakfast buffet was very pricey for what was offered, which was also less than palatable. $5.00 USD for a small cup of coffee!!!!!! Staff was okay, though limited in their ability to communicate in English (granted it is China). […] Customer service was lacking basic courtesy, such as stopping me mid-mouthful to ask me to pay for my breakfast. The hotel location is convenient to Ocean Park and hopefully somewhere in all the ongoing construction in the area they will find room for a 7-11 or Circle K as there are zero convenience stores in the area. the L hotel provides a perfect balance between customer service and location. the location is a bit off the beaten path but the attentive, helpful and detailed nature of the employee's offsets this disadvantage. get a room with a moutain view and above the 10th floor and the experience is worth the price savings the hotel offers.

This hotel is perfect for business, you need a cab as the neighborhood is not place for walking or shoping. Taxis are cheap but rarely speak English. The room is clean and comfortable. The wifi internet connection is fast and free. The shuttle service to Hongkong central terminal is free and goes every half an hour to 45 minutes. The location is far and there are no stores in walking distance if you wanted to grab a snack or even sight see it's mostly industrial BUT they have a great shuttle that runs every hour and takes you to Honk Kong station where you can go to the mall their. This is a brand new hotel, and is quite modern in style and decor. But the location is terrible. If you want to go to Ocean Park, stay here. But if you plan to do ANYTHING else, stay at another hotel, closer to Causeway Bay and the Hong Kong subway (MTR). This is a newer hotel and as one would expect it is in very good condition. The staff is friendly and I really had no trouble communicating. I require foam pillows (allergy to feathers) and after some back and forth I was understood. The pillows were at my door within 90 seconds. There are many restaurants at Aberdeen Center, which is within a mile or so walk. Also, taxis are abundant and cheap (to Aberdeen Center 20 HKD). The pool is seasonal and there is no hot tub or sauna. I would also recommend a hotel directory in each room with a local map and directory of hotel services. I needed some laundry done, but there was no information. Also, I am unsure about room service. The last potential negative is the window to the bathroom if you are traveling with a business partner - awkward. The rooms at L'hotel Island South exceeded our expectations. They were spotless, large and really nice. There is not much to do within walking distance of the hotel. Dining options are very limited. For HK$45 you can take a cab to Causeway Bay and dine, shop or catch the subway from there. The hotel has shuttle buses as well and is easy to reach by […] car. The only disappointment is its service. We stayed for 8 nights. It took two days to get the number of towels to equal the number of guests. We asked three times for an extra towel for our daughter. On the last day I asked for a late check out. Without even checking her computer, the woman at the front desk said that would not be possible. When I checked out on time, I told the same woman that another guest had received a late check out. She apologized and offered to let us keep the room. At that point, we already had our bags in the lobby. There is no proper concierge. The front desk gave us maps but didn't have information on the ferry schedule, horse race timing, even how to get to Victoria Peak. Another hotel was happy to print all of that information for us. Also when we asked how to get to a town in the New Territories, the front desk staff sent us the long way. The hotel employees who helped us get cabs were helpful in instructing the cab drivers where to go and were always very nice in greeting us when we returned. I hope the rest of the staff at the hotel learns from the friendly and helpful folks in the entry. Read more
