L Hotel Island South - Hong Kong

I thought it was a terrible place. First, you can not get any assistant from anyone and its too far away from everything.

Our stay here at L Hotel Island South was great. Not to say we spent a whole lot of time actually in the hotel, but the time we did was comfortable, relaxing and the staff was extremely accommodating. One staff member in particular, I believe her name was Clara, went way above her duties to help us with our commute around the city. She gave us maps, […] directions, helped us change our money, and even gave personal suggestions of particular places we would do well to go visit. The Hotel is a bit out of the way of the main city and most attractions [except Ocean Park, which we could actually see from outside our room window] but their timely and reliable shuttle service will drop you to the nearby MTR station and pick you up from the airport express and take you back to the hotel. We rode a taxi only once during our 3 day trip because we woke up late the morning of our departure and missed the shuttle. All in all, a great 1st trip to HK and a great hotel staying experience. the L hotel provides a perfect balance between customer service and location. the location is a bit off the beaten path but the attentive, helpful and detailed nature of the employee's offsets this disadvantage. get a room with a moutain view and above the 10th floor and the experience is worth the price savings the hotel offers.

Even with the location NOT so convinient to town the bus shuttle make it worthwhile.The hotel lobby could have been bigger and seating was very limited. I'll stay here again if the hotel rate stays lower than the downtown ones.

Should have separate check in and check out lines.

The room is clean and comfortable. The wifi internet connection is fast and free. The shuttle service to Hongkong central terminal is free and goes every half an hour to 45 minutes. The buffet breakfast is good but not included in the price of your room. The people in the front desk speak English well. I will recommend this hotel.

This is the first time we spent our vacation. Thanks for the tips of HOTEL, we chose this number one rated hotel and it was proved to be an extremely wiseful choice. We only stayed at L'hotel Island South for two nights, but the hotel and rooms were beautiful and well-kept and clean. The breakfast buffet was delicious - we ate there both mornings! The staff was very helpful - showing us their convenient and FREE shuttle service and holding our bags for us at concierge until we were able to pick them up to go to […] the airport. While the location is not close to anything we wanted to see (except Ocean Park, which we ended up not being able to visit), it was very easy to use the shuttle to get to an MTR station, and from there to wherever we wanted to go! It was a nice hotel and the service was good. The buffet was a little expensive. We recommend taking the special offer of all day lounge food and mini bar for a family of four versus, going Al -A -Carte at the hotel restaurant. It's rare that you come across a luxurious hotel offering an unbeatable package. We had a fabulous 2 night stay, recharged our traveler batteries and felt that views over the ocean and the super modern designed rooms made this a perfect stay. Tried the pool and sampled the evening wine list in the bar. Breath taking panorama views from the 31st floor […] and above, nicely away from the hustle and bustle of HK island. You'll feel that you're in a heavenly enclave. It's a short cab ride through the tunnel out towards Aberdeen. Overall of this hotel is better than I had expected. All staff are very polite and helpful. But I would suggest that if they can have their own convenient store in the hotel. Also, they should put all local/international phone call price list in each room or give it while the customers check in.

I would stay at this location again. The location is far and there are no stores in walking distance if you wanted to grab a snack or even sight see it's mostly industrial BUT they have a great shuttle that runs every hour and takes you to Honk Kong station where you can go to the mall their. I wasnt impressed by mall all American stores "Prada, Furla, […] ETC" but you can take the airport express at the station and visit different areas. This is a brand new hotel, and is quite modern in style and decor. But the location is terrible. If you want to go to Ocean Park, stay here. But if you plan to do ANYTHING else, stay at another hotel, closer to Causeway Bay and the Hong Kong subway (MTR). Also, think about this: There are A LOT of kids at the hotel, because they're going to Ocean […] Park, and they're quite excited about it. If you like quiet and serenity, consider that. This is a newer hotel and as one would expect it is in very good condition. The staff is friendly and I really had no trouble communicating. I require foam pillows (allergy to feathers) and after some back and forth I was understood. The pillows were at my door within 90 seconds. High tea is impressive! 5 desserts and coffee or tea for about 50 HKD. The […] only negative is that there are no restaurants nearby. However, the hotel's cafe is very good. There are many restaurants at Aberdeen Center, which is within a mile or so walk. Also, taxis are abundant and cheap (to Aberdeen Center 20 HKD). The pool is seasonal and there is no hot tub or sauna. I would also recommend a hotel directory in each room with a local map and directory of hotel services. I needed some laundry done, but there was no information. Also, I am unsure about room service. The last potential negative is the window to the bathroom if you are traveling with a business partner - awkward. Very fine hotel for the price, will stay again on my return from China

Very nice for the money, but very remote in an industrial area that requires taxi rides to get anywhere. The shuttle was overloaded so that did cost a lot of time and if you dont what to spend an hour just to get to central station, you need to spend a $30 cab ride.

Stayed for 4 nights recently at the L Hotel Island South. I as on a sightseeing visit. The hotel was reasonably priced. The room was nice, plenty of room, clean, etc. However the location is not very good. There is nothing in the vicinity of the hotel. No convenience store, restaurants, nothing. Really cool hotel -- can't beat the price. I've stayed in more expensive places in Hong Kong that were not nearly as nice. While this hotel is very far removed from the action, there is a public bus stop literally right outside the hotel doors, which makes getting around very easy. Highly recommended.

The hotel location is not very good. Nothing around. The hotel is confortable and luxurious.

Hotel is clean but very sterile, no atmosphere. Everything smells like a cheap aftershave that gives you a headache. AC in room was too cold and could not be changed. In room dining menu has 10 items and very expensive. It takes at least 40 minutes to get a cup of coffee in the room. No service. We asked for a room for an hour after we checked out (we […] had been out in the rain the whole morning with 4 small kids) and they did not want to give us one (we'd already paid). Staff has an attitude like they work in the best place in the world. Restaurant could not manage to get our order right once (we had dinner 5 times) and charged full price for a buffet for our 2 year old. Hotels have free suttle to central, hongkong station, causewaybay, ocean park with comfortable time table. All staffs are really nice and kindly provide every information. Breakfast is also good in LIS bar and swimming pool and health club is good. great wifi connection in the rooms. city view rooms are in close proximity with highway - noisy 24/7. guests in neighbouring rooms often rowdy + noisy. thin walls.

We booked a twin and were put in a room with a camp style bed jammed into the corner so making it a triple and also meaning we had no room to move in the room at all. The room was very clean and the linen was lovely. The beds were very hard and although this wasn't so much a problem for me, it could be for others. It did mean the comfort level was […] reduced slightly as could not snuggle into my bed. When we checked in, there was a man on the phone behind the check in and he completely ignored us for at least 10 minutes before he finally called a colleague to check us in. We waited for at least 10 minutes again while she fussed over something and when asked f there was a problem, she just said 'no' and gave no explanation. It is a very sterile feeling place and as we only needed a room to sleep in, we weren't so bothered, but if we were there for several days, I would choose somewhere more central and with a better feel to it. Not sure if I would recommend or not but as there is only the option to put yes or no, I have said yes as it was not as awful as some places I have stayed, but don't go expecting any luxury or extras... Very disappointed! Rude-staff, un-flexible check out (even for 10 mns!!) The parking is overpriced. No swimming pool in winter, no steam room, no sauna.. dirty gym. noisy rooms... I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!

Perfect, except the location is a little bit remote.public transport is very convenient though!bus stop is just outside the hotel tt has plenty of buses to the central, causeway bay!!excellent hotel.u will not regret choosing!:)
