Iberostar Mehari Djerba - Midoun

Went to Djerba for three nights with a friend. Expected a quiet vacation and got what I wanted, sort of. The hotel is in the tourist ghetto isolated from the rest of the island. So expect to be surrounded by mostly package tourists from Europe. Guests were for the most part German and French, meaning that English was not spoken much by the staff, though […] some members of the concierge were good about it. I got around with rudimentary French. It's a affordably priced hotel with all-inclusive packages, so the quality of everything was only slightly more than tolerable. Food was OK as long as I avoided bad Western food, drinks were OK if I stuck to simple cocktails without too many ingredients, service was OK if I did not ask many questions, and the room was...OK. They obviously cut cost wherever they could by making things just slightly above acceptable. Our room had a huge gap between the window and the frame, which the staff had stuffed with wads of tissue. The shower head was so light and flimsy that it turned out of control when I did not hold it with my hand. The most annoying, however, was the activity coordinators all around the property, stopping me whenever they could and trying to get me to sign up for tours at an additional cost. The hotel was clean and nice, no overflow of anything but just enough and clean. Very good hotel to be only a 3 star hotel.Internet is about 2 Euro/hour when majority of others hotels offers Wifi in rooms or in reception area free of charge. Overall, it is a good price/quality hotel.

We loved this place and found it a great place for families to stay. Don't know if it is the prevailance of French guests, but the standard of food (and all-inclusive drinks) was great, especially as it was buffet-style. There was variety each day. The mini-club leader was lovely with the kids, and there was variety in the entertainments provided each […] evening. The place is fine - but is really geared to the package Euro senior - so not really fun for the rest of us and really not near anything - so you're pretty much stuck there. Very nice staff, the air conditioning in our room didn't work. The beds were not very comfortable. The staff were great though all very friendly and helpful, not many spoke English but they all tried. Great swimming pool. I was alone with my four kids and felt very safe. Fun place for families.

Wir waren nun zum 3. Mal im Mehari und wir haben uns wieder vom ersten Tag an wie zu Hause gefühlt! Alle hatten uns in guter Erinnerung, wir fühlten, dass wir gern gesehene Gäste sind. Und gerade diese fast familiäre Atmosphäre macht den Charme des Hotels aus. Es gibt bestimmt bessere Hotels, aber im Mehari stimmt absolut das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis […] und ist daher bestens zu empfehlen. Djerba ist und war total ruhig, auch außerhalb des Hotels. Die Tunesier sind auf die Urlauber angwiesen und sind sich dessen sehr bewusst. Man wird überall freundlich aufgenommen, vorausgesetzt, man verhält sich entsprechend den Landessitten und behandelt jeden Menschen mit Respekt. J'ai séjourné dans cet hôtel avec mon épouse et mes 3 grands fils , pour 1 semaine comprenant le 1er Janvier . Etant habitués à des hôtels plus chers, nous avons été agréablement surpris par l'Iberostar Mehari: Restaurant de bonne qualité, avec menus variés.
