      This is not a hotel if you are looking for great comfort. It is a good stop over for a few nights. A beautiful courtyard. Calm and central, with a caring staff. Skip breakfast, it'd better around the corner.

It is resurrected from the remains of a Victorian shipbuilding yard of 19th Century to bring colonial Cochin alive.     Arriving at Brunton boatyard we were told we had been upgraded to a suite. This room did not dissapoint with two bathrooms, a living room,, larder and... massive balcony overlooking the harbor and pool! Service and attention to detail was out of this world!     Eating at Brunton Boatyard’s History Restaurant is literally a journey through 30 different communities living in Kochi. At the History Restaurant, these cuisines have been given a new lease of life, recreated faithfully each evening by chefs who did their research in the best place possible - with the old families of Cochin. On the other side, Terrace grill the second Restraunt offers the catch of the day where you can chose and catch the fish yourself and ask the restaurant to cook for you. You can also enjoy your evening in Port - Armoury Cafe is a warm, intimate space, just perfect for a long evening of Sundowners and tall stories. Try a few of the bartenders special concoctions examine the old flintlocks on the wall and ruminate on life's meaning.

    Recreation

    Armed with a bicycle and a map, you could spend a somnolent afternoon cycling the city's markets and old quarters, seeing the Fort Cochin most tourists never see. Spectacular sunsets, glorious sea air and probably a dolphin or two! A synchronized Kerala massage (done by two expert masseurs whose actions mirror each other), could be just the ticket, easing the leg muscles and wafting you straight into drinks -and-dinner mode. Billiards and Time Travel - This corner of the lobby was once described by a guest as a Victorian throwback, and it is indeed a strange hybrid, part raj-era railway waiting room (complete with Punkahs), part colonial club. Lounge around, pot a ball or two, read the papers, doze and yes, there is honey still for tea.
