Aggie Greys Lagoon Beach Resort and Spa - Faleolo

We've just returned from a 5 night stay at Aggie Greys Lagoon Beach Resort and Spa. This was our first trip to Samoa. The staff at Aggie Greys were lovely, very warm and friendly. Nothing seems to move that fast in Samoa but the more we relaxed, the less that seemed to matter. Our room was large, spotlessly clean and comfortable although the bathroom […] is starting to date. There's a huge verandah to sit on and watch the sunset - even better once we moved our indoor cushioned seats out there. There are several restaurants to choose from. The seafood platter for 2 was good value and the waiter, remembering us from the night before, took it upon himself to ask the chef to change some of the selections so we would get variety. The downside is that it's almost an hour drive into Apia with very few eating options along the way and so you are pretty much restricted to the resort restaurants and the menus can get a bit repetitive after a few days. The deluxe room we stayed in was tired and very much in need of a complete renovation, This came as a big disappointment considering the fabulous photos of the entrance area and the actual drive in to the resort which looked impressive. The price paid was completely out of touch with the quality of the room - so not good value for money. The food only […] average - compared with the amazing meals we had in the preceding few nights at another beautiful resort on the south east coast of Upolu - Seabreeze. The only reason we chose to stay at Aggies was that it was five minutes from the airport, which was important as our flight left at 6-15am. Read more

Pros. This is a good 'resort' style hotel. Staff were very helpful and the service was generally good. The food was plentiful and a reasonable range. It's close to the airport so convenient, and with few flights in or out, airport noise is not a problem. It's also close to the ferry terminal to Savai. Cons. The cost. The price of the rooms and food […] was expensive when compared to Apia hotels with similar though smaller facilities (approximately double). I'm not sure how this can be justified. Some of the scheduled activities did not take place at the posted times and even though I approached several staff, none were unable to find out why, or to say if they were to take place. When they did take place however, they were enjoyable, my children enjoying the basket weaving, fish feeding and local food. Its a long way from Apia so no point in communting if you have business in the capital. Read more

Aggies is in a lovely location, airport not an issue and easy with kids. Pools are great, staff friendly, rooms pretty clean and tidy. We had a 'toilet issue' addressed - it did take about 4 visits but the will and dedication to fixing it were there. Food is food in a resort....expect to pay high prices for not great quality. Water is complimentary […] in the rooms which is welcome. We were disappointed the staff couldn't give us better advice/direction on where to go when we hired a car - aka local knowledge and we got a bad steer on getting medical help for our daughter. We were sent to a local clinic 10 mins away which was useless then had to pay to get into Apia with no idea where we were going. We expected much better from a resort like this. We did two nights in Apia which we enjoyed -more choice than a resort. Overall, the people are lovely, the sun shined and we ultimately had a great time in Samoa. Read more

Aggies is a very nice place to stay. The rooms are well air conditioned, the pool area is superb along with the pool side bar and the Manaia spa facility is world class. What short comings there with this hotel are are well compensated for with the service and friendliness by all staff from the cleaners, security people, reception and restaurant staff. This […] was our 4th stay in the last two years and we will return again in the future. One suggestion I would make is that It would be really nice to see local food product used where ever possible like fruit juices, fruits and even the locally produced coke. The coke made in Samoa tastes way better in the old glass bottles than the cans they serve from NZ. So much food product served comes from NZ. Read more

Great location for airport and ferry but hotel totally over-rated and very over-priced. Lots of staff, most of them doing very little, filthy swimming pool and poor food. When we were there the majority of the guests had dodgy guts ! We will not be going back.

Great resort suited us with young child. Pool/beach area fantastic. Only downfall is distance to any other dining options. Too far to town for dinner. Great daily shuttle service into Apia for shopping etc. Staff fantastic - couldn't do enough for us. All staff were very friendly, all day and night!

Vein vaimoni 10 v. hääpäivälomalle . Halusin ottaa varman päälle ja valitsin nimekkään ja 4 - tähden hotellin . Tyrmistykseni oli melkoinen , kun huoneeseen saapuessamme vaimoni kädet alkoivat haista hänen pestyä kätensä ja käytettyään pyyhettä . Lakanat olivat täynnä tahroja , saastaiset , pesemättömät . Petauspatja oli virtsan ja eritteiden läikittämä […] . Vaihto kesti iät ja ajat ja päivävuorolaiset yrittivät tuoda saman petauspatjan takaisin ja laittaa sen vuoteeseen . kun huomautin tästä he hävisivät . Iltavuorolaiset vihdoin laittoivat asiat kunnolla kuntoon ja toivat myös puhtaita pyyhkeitä .Iltavuoro myös toimi nopeasta . Tästä huolimatta hotelli oli pilannut meiltä ensivaikutelman emmekä enää päässeet kunnolla lomatunnelmaan . Esitin asian naispuoliselle apulaisjohtajalle joka pahoitteli ja tajusi asian tärkeyden ja ilmeisesti sai asiat toimimaan . Hotellin ympäristö oli hyvin hoidettu ja uimaranta oli hyvä , tosin hotellialueen toisella äärilaidalla . Aamiainen oli hyvä jos hotellissa oli väljää mutta heti kun tuli enemmän väkeä , aamupalan taso romahti . Liian iso hotelli . Ei enää kenenkään hanskassa . Samoalaiset ovat sydämellisiä ihmisiä ja saari erittäin kaunis , mutta hotellin takia en suosittele edes kovahermoisimmille . Huone oli tasoltaan aivan perustasoa , ei hintansa väärti eikä todellakaan 4 tähden arvoinen . Read more
