Indy Hostel - Indianapolis

Really enjoyed this place. It was great for a 1 nighter. It was close to a beer festival that we came into town for and walkable to great restaurants and bars. I would stay there again.

This was my 1st time staying at a hostel. It was convenient to downtown and accessible by bus (Route #17) and cab ($19). Also, it was very economical compared to the high priced hotels in downtown Indianapolis. There were an ample amount of bathrooms so I never had a conflict with them being occupied when I needed it.

For where it is and what you get with a hostel, this place should easily meet the needs of any traveler. Its a hostel, so people are staying there under all sorts of pretenses. The staff at this hostel is great, very friendly and attentive to your needs! It's also very close to the Broadripple neighborhood, which is great for Indy nightlife/restaurants. Overall, highly recommended as long as you know that you are staying in a hostel, not a hotel. The guy working was very nice and made sure to give us a tour and make us feel at home. They are very flexible and as long as they know when you plan to arrive they will be ready to check you in. The hotel was clean, inviting and a good atmosphere. The quality of service was good. The amenities was available for a price, but I did expect dinner since they were cooking dinner at the time. This was a good experience, I really just enjoyed the friendly environment it provided. I just stayed at the Indy Hostel for a weekend trip to Butler University for an event. Having never stayed at a hostel before, I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The location was great--it's just a short drive east from the campus--and the accomodations were comfortable and homey. As a single traveler, I haven't stayed in many hostels, but this was a very nice experience. Though there were no locks on the door, the place was neat and tidy and I felt quite safe and found interesting and pleasant conversation and accommodation here. I would be happy to return now that I am familiar with the neighborhood, and that there are people […] there who are helpful in getting around town and assisting in daily necessities. The kitchen was clean and very well managed. No tv in room, and just regular stations in tv room, but that makes the experience more interesting as there is more conversation and interest in visiting with others rather than immersing ones self in favorite shows and isolating in a room. Bring a good book if you want to spend time in your space in private. Although much less luxurious that a super 8, it's a much more enjoyable adventure. Read more
