"Convenient location on the water."
This place was easy to get to, right on the water, and we had a great view of the lake. Great tented area to sit in the morning and have coffee looking out over the lake.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel manager was very nice. It's just that the hotel really needs updating. The room was clean enough, but smelled damp, mildewy. The beds were very uncomfortable. Florring, rugs, everything old and worn. But - for the price, I'd stay there again. (well, except for the bed. My back was killing me the next day.)Genuine Expedia guest review
"View worth it! Within minutes of Meredith!"
The only negative feedback is the pillows. Very flat - very worn. Besides that - we were extremely happy with the experience. The view was incredible and we had a balcony.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointing for such a lovely area!"
Signs in the room said "no parties". Yet a large group of people from a wedding arrived back at the motel at 1245AM and hooted, hollowed, yelled and partied on the grass right outside the majority of the rooms until 2AM. Very disappointing that the management didn't quiet them down after 15-30 minutes. Lock to room was a simple button-type lock you […] find on your bathroom doors, at home. Once you were inside the room, there was a deadbolt lock. But the deadbolt could not be used when you left the room, which made me feel concerned for my belongings. Parking was very limited and I needed to wait for someone to vacate a space before I could park each time I left the motel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Would never stay here again!"
The best thing about this hotel was the view and proximity to town. It also had a cute little beach. That's where the positives end. The room was dingy, the pillows were flat, the blankets were thin, and it was a very uncomfortable sleeping experience. It was also extremely noisy and I couldn't sleep at all the first night we were there. For over $200/night […] I expected a lot more for my money. Definitely would not stay here again! "Good location, bad beds, missing items in room"
We had to move due to damaged or non-working items in the first room. The second room was missing the clock, ironing board, and ice bucket. (I borrowed them from the first room.) The bed was hard and lumpy, and we did not get good sleep. The air conditioner either froze us out or we had to turn it off and then sweated. "Great stay at center harbor inn"
We found the center harbor inn very clean, friendly staff and a beautiful private beach right on lake winnipesaukee. The beach was very well kept, they raked the sand twice a day. The continental breakfast was great. Nothing bad to say, I will defiantly be staying here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very good location the weather was cold but we made the most of it. My husband liked the breakfast! Reasonable rates, easy to launch the boat. The room decor a little outdated, locks on patio door needed fixing. Overall we. "Clean & comfortable"
I booked this Inn for my daughter & her friends as a birthday gift. There were 4 people & they said the room was great. The only complaint was it is non smoking & they smoke but they just went outside to smoke. The staff was nice & the room was clean & comfortable. It said on the Inn's page there was a DVD player which there was not :(Genuine Expedia guest review

"A wonderful stay by the bay"
I really enjoyed staying at the Center Harbor Inn. The rates for a room were very reasonable and the room was nice. It was as it always is in New Hampshire, everyone was friendly and accommodating. With the room having a somewhat homie feel, It was nice to have a balcony to look out upon the lake when we woke up in the morning, and to be able to walk […] out on the dock at night to gaze at the stars and enjoy the warm breeze. I will be returning again to stay at this Inn next month when I return to NH for job interviews, I can not wait to enjoy a few nights at this place once more. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't go there."
Although located right on the lake, all the windows turn away from the lake, so you actually can't sit in your room and look at the lake! Also, the entrance corridor was full of very unpleasant odour, the hot water was not enough for a comfortable shower, the wi-fi only worked part of the time, and the promised breakfast was not there. But by far the […] most annoying was the non-lake view. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"People rate this place under 5 stars??!?!"
My best friend and I are new sport shooters. We have a new membership to an AWESOME shooting range in NH, and this would have been our first time going to the club. We planned to go for the weekend. There were "branded chains" in the general area for about the same price, but the locations were farther away from the range. We checked hotels.com for […] an inexpensive place to stay near the very-remote gun club, and Center Harbor Inn came up cheap. We booked the for two nights. We don't require much. We need a parking spot, a decent room not surrounded by ghetto scum, relatively quiet, relatively clean, reasonably secure, a working shower, a lamp, and a place to sleep. A "home base" to come back to when we're done doing whatever we are during the day. So, we arrived about 9:45 PM on a Friday night and the lobby was closed, but a note was left with a key to the room, and we were set to go. We went into the place, not expecting much. Wow! Nice room! Psyched! It was still rather cold in New Hampshire, but not the room. The heat was on, and it was very comfortable in there. Well above average for an economy room. There were a number of times during our trip that mentioned that we loved the Center Harbor Inn. We had planned to return to the range this weekend (it's Sunday, we just got home), and we stayed there again. It was great. The place is wonderful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Go for the views"
The hotel has a good location. There are lake views that are lovely. The room was clean but the heater was difficult to adjust to a comfortable temperature. The refrig is nice to have. The outside of the hotel looks nice. The hallways and rooms are in need of a redo. Everything is outdated and very old and worn. Compared to other hotels in the area […] this one is very inexpensive. We were only there for one night and only in the room to sleep so it was a good value. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Went in April and the office is only open from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. They left a note on the office door with the room number. The room was unlocked with the key in the room. You leave key in room when you leave.Never saw anyone from the Inn during stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good value for the location"
Center Harbor Inn is great for what it is. It is a hotel in need of major remodeling on a spectacular piece of property. It is also inexpensive for the location and was completely full when we were there. Inside the beds are sagging, the bathroom is modest, and the decor is from a few decades ago, but it is relatively clean although there is a musty […] smell. The wireless works and thecomplimentary breakfast is very basic. The location is the reason it fills up. Located directly on the lake it has a pier, grills, a deck with gliders, adiorondack chairs on the lawn overlooking the lake, a sandy beach, and a beautiful view from every room. There are many restaurants, shops and activities in Center Harbor and nearby Meridit. as well as easy access to the entire lake region. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Lovely location, room okay with fresh air"
Pros: We could see the lake from our room. It was quiet. The room was comfortable enough. The hotel has a beach and we got to swim a lot. There was a continental breakfast. Overall the location was fun. Cons: The room had a cleanser and musty odor when we entered but was okay after we opened the slider to the balcony. There were not enough outlets for […] chargers or the coffee pot. The beds were kind of hard. The floor boards of the balcony are starting to rot. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"center harbor inn"
The hotel rooms were digusting, food was left and rotten in the refrigerator. We had no water for the first 2 hours after check- in but were not informed at check-in. When we finally got water we had to run the tub and faucets for a half hour to get rid of the brown water which stained the tub sink and toilet. There was cereal on the floor under the […] bed from previous guest. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, there are so many others in the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great for Boaters"
07/22/14 sggggg Milford, NH
This place worked out great for us. We had the end unit near the beach with a water view. The launch is right next door. They let us park our fishing boat on the beach which helped save us 40.00 a day slip rental for 2 days. In two days we got to explore beaches and the towns around the lake. To top it off the weather was great. Good way to start off the 2104 summer season.
"A Step Above ...."

The Ying and Yang of traveling with a pet is how I rate this motel... Here are the pros and cons of our stay. Pros: Great location - in the midst of Center Harbor. You can walk to any restaurant of merit - and Dewey's Ice Cream Shop. The Mount Washington comes into port on Monday's - quite a sight to behold. Great swimming spot for kids and adults. Plenty of open space, lawns for just relaxing in one of their numerous chairs. Free WiFi (but it's spotty)... Toiletry products are above average. Rooms are super clean. If you bring your boat they do have slips for an extra charge. Relatively quiet depending upon room location. And, for us the top reason for our stay - they allow pets. Cons: The rooms are dated and the mattresses are just okay. Their free breakfast was meager... English muffins, mini bagels, coffee and breakfast cereal packs. No fruit - no juice - nothing else... There is no central air, so you have to rely on room AC units which are tough to sleep next to even though they were relatively new and quiet by design. Overall, it fit the bill for us. Just what we needed and because we did a Sunday-Tuesday stay, our third night was free - thus bringing the total bill down to a "reasonable" price. I would definitely not bother staying there on a weekend at a rate of $209 a night... Definitely not worth it.. especially if you aren't traveling with a pet. I think for a small family on a budget, it could be a lovely weekend vacation for under $500 where your kids can swim in safety, there is a nearby playground, and a fridge in the room...
"Great Location, relaxed atmosphere"
06/14/14 Kate M Dracut
This was an adult getaway long weekend. We were not looking for a luxury spa type, rather we were looking to explore the area. The Inn has everything you need, and the rooms are fairly large. Our view did face the parking lot, but you still see the water, and we could see the adjacent playground and swings and the Inn's patio, yet we were not sitting in the hot sun. We did get rain one morning, and we were pleased that the room had a coffee maker, and we had brought some items for the fridge. I think it would be a great place to bring kids and tour the area, too. There a a lot of free activities in the area. Of course we were looking for great restaurants, and right down the street is Canoe (absolutely awesome) and Lavinia's is outstanding. We also explored downtown Meredith and sampled at the Hermit Woods winery. After dinner, we sat on the deck looking at the lights reflected on the water, and the boat traffic and sipped our wine. It was very pleasant. I agree with everyone else, the Inn itself was not the highlight of this getaway, it was merely the hub of our activity. But it has everything you could want. And the staff is helpful and quick to respond to requests. We will definitely go back again, just like everyone has written. Seriously, is there any higher compliment?
"Good location on the lake but average hotel."
04/05/14 XerxesL Shrewsbury
We spent 1 night here on our New England tour and arrived to deep snow and a frozen lake! The staff member on arrival wasn't particularly welcoming or friendly, but a different staff member when we checked out was nicer. Only us and 1 other party were staying so we got a room at the end of the corridor with a lake view from 2 windows and from our private balcony. Strangely though, due to the position of the hotel, all the other rooms/ balconies (bar the ones at the ends of the 4 corridors) face the parking lot and road rather then the lake! The views were fantastic and the room was clean and comfortable. It was quiet because it was empty but we thought that you would hear a lot of noise in the corridors if people were tramping up and down, due to wooden floors. We were devastated that the lake was frozen and the beach was covered in snow so we couldn't really appreciate it or comment on it. We did not get any breakfast as it was "out-of-season". We thought they could have rustled up something for 2 guests. I imagine It would be lovely in summer because of the location, but the hotel was nothing special.
"Great location on Lake Winnepesaukee"
09/30/13 65Wagonaire Dartmouth, MA
This is the best location on the lake. While the inn itself is a bit worn and the rooms a bit dated, the location makes this the best place to stay. The room rate was affordable, especially for such a prime location. My husband and I stayed here several years ago and loved using the hotel's private beach and beach chairs. This trip was too short, because we were travelling with people on a schedule, so we left too early to partake of the complimentary continental breakfast. The staff person was friendly and accommodating to our (unfortunate) need to leave as early as we did. If we find ourselves in the area again, Center Harbor Inn will be our first choice for a place to stay, and we'll make sure to have time to go for a swim.
"Best place at the lake in NH!"
09/22/13 wdwgirl NH
I have been coming to Center Harbor for years! It is a hidden gem, located right on the water, lake views from your room, complimentary breakfast in the am. The beach is always combed and clean. Plenty of beachchairs if you care to hang out on the beach for the day since many families take day trips from here and use it as a homebase. The rooms are always immaculate. There is so much to do in the area. Even just lounging in the swings is nice right on property. The staff couldn't be better. Ashley works the front desk and always a wonderful part of arriving. Harry, the manage is efficent, kind and helpful. All the staff is great. I just realized after years of coming here that i never put up a review and they deserve a GREAT ONE!
"Best mini vacation ever"

My boyfriend and I wanted to get out of town for a long weekend and found the Center Harbor Inn. It is a beautiful spot and loved waking up to the lake every morning. Harry and his support staff were very accommodating and very friendly, that have good suggestions of attractions and places to visit while we were in the area. We will definatly be telling all our friends to come to the Center Harbor Inn.
"Very good value"

The location is excellent. The service is excellent and the people at the front desk are knowledgeable of the area attractions and eateries. The rooms could use some updating but our room has always been very clean. We've stayed there several times.

I have travelled past this hotel many times over the years, wondering if the interior was as great as it's location which is located right on the shore of Lake Winnipisaukee in Center Harbor. Unfortunately I discovered the answer during a recent stay to attend a wedding in the area. The lobby is homey but tired with worn carpeting and furniture. The rooms are all located on a long narrow interior corridors that lead to what appear to be hollow core doors covered by years of grime. The room is the same, with worn carpeting and very outdated furniture and bedspreads. The private deck offers great views but the sliding door is dirty and difficult to unlock, and the screen door squeaks and drags in its grooves. The beds were firm and comfortable. The beds were made up in the mornings, but the floor was not vacuumed. We didn't eat the continental breakfast served in a small dining area, did have coffee which was quite good. The price was relatively high for the value received, and the best part of our stay was the coffee.
"Economical Hotel with Great Views of Lake Winnipesaukee"
09/03/13 TonyK300 Berkeley Heights, New Jersey
For a modest $99/nite for a standard room or $169/nite for a corner room with direct lake views this place is convenient to stay at when visiting the northern sections of the Lake or going into Meredith where prices are higher. Beds were adequate and rooms have refrigerators and coffee makers. The balcony though small was nice in the evening. The staff was very attentive and tried hard to please. You can get to a couple of good restaurants and a super market within a couple of blocks of this hotel. The hotel has a small beach of its own and is close to a small marina. My only complaint is if you up-charge for a room with a view make sure visitors can clearly see out the window. Our view was great except the window was dirty and full of spider webs and insects. Overall a good bang for the buck
